Here's the color challenge - using three of the four Stampin' Up! colors below:

 

 

I knew that I wanted to use my Watercolor Pencils and unfortunately needed a sympathy card so decided to use the Rose Wonder stamp set for the images and phrase.

How to send some smiles across the miles

There are times when you just want to send a card to someone special - not for a birthday or to say thank you - just because. Today I have a really fun Paper Craft Crew card challenge map that I used to create my card sample:

 

I used a brand new stamp set and coordinating framelits pack - available to order in January 2017! It's called: Lift Me Up! The set has 16 rubber stamps (6 phrases!) and there are 15 framelits in the pack.

Texture can soften the sadness of sympathy

It is not fun to have to create a sympathy card. But they are our reality so today's Wondrous Wreath card provides a sympathy card idea for the next time you need to make one.

Measurements: 

• Cajun Craze Card Base: 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” (fold in half)
• Serene Scenery DSP: 5” x 3-3/4”
• Scrap: Whisper White & Soft Suede

Instructions: 

1. Stamp Brushstrokes image in Cajun Craze on the front of the card base. 
2. Stamp frame and words from Rose Wonder in black ink on whisper white card stock scrap.
3. Stamp wreath layers in Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze and Rose Red. 
4. Stamp Hardwood in Soft Suede ink, on Soft Suede card stock. 
5. Using the Big Shot, cut label,  wreath & star panels (all can be cut at the same time). 
6. Punch the corners of the Serene Scenery panel with the Corner rounder punch. 
7. Cut banner tails in the ribbon sections, and tie a bow in the linen thread. 
8. Assemble card. 

How to use a color challenge to provide inspiration

This week the Paper Craft Crew has a rather unusual card map challenge - it's a color challenge!

I love color challenges because they take me out of my crafting comfort zone and force me to look a new combinations for crafting. 

For this color challenge I chose: Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral and.....

A time of joy, a time of sadness

This time of year brings out so many emotions - most of them full of love and happiness. But there are also those feeling sadness too, especially if they lost someone special. 

This past week has been difficult for many Stampin' Up! demonstrators as we lost three much-loved stamping friends. And so to honor them and their families, I have a special sympathy card to share with you:

 

Supplies:

Stamp Set - Heartfelt Sympathy (#138764)

Card Stock - Whisper White (#100730), Wild Wasabi (108641), White Vellum Cardstock (101856)

Designer Series Paper - English Garden (138440)

Ink Pad - Wild Wasabi for inside saying (126959), Whisper White Craft (101731)

Misc. – White Embossing Powder (109132), Heat Tool (129053), Embossing Buddy (103083), Circle Punch - 2 1/2", Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334)

 

Measurements:

* Whisper White base card: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

* Wild Wasabi: 4" x 5 1/4" and scrap for circle

* Designer Series Paper: 3 3/4" x 5"

* Vellum: 2 3/4" x 5 1/2"

 

Instructions:

1. Layer Wild Wasabi onto Whisper White base card.
2. Emboss vellum. Score on the back side, lightly, at 3/4" and 4 5/8". Fold on score lines.
3. Punch Wild Wasabi circle, adhere to DSP.
4. Wrap vellum around DSP, adhere to back. Attach DSP to base card. Stamp verse inside using Wild Wasabi ink.

The seashore is a calming card scene

There are sad times in our lives when we need to make a sympathy card. And this was one of those weeks for me. 

This time, however, I needed to make a sympathy card for a male colleague and most of the sympathy stamp sets I have include floral designs. I decided to take a hard look at all of my stamp sets and come up with something different. 

I chose three stamp sets for this card: By the Tide, The Open Sea and Awesomely Artistic:

One stamp from each of the sets above, along with the 'with sympathy' stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes and here's what I created:

Colors used: Whisper White, Basic Black and Crumb Cake

Add some Linen Thread and the card is complete.
