For my page design, I started with the Needlepoint Nook paper. (Tip: let your paper colors guide your page colors)

I decided my page base would be Blushing Bride and the accent colors would be Night of Navy, Crushed Curry and Poppy Parade. I wanted my page to be for some summer photos so chose to create "SUMMER" as my title using the Large Letter framelits. 

For accents I used the Bitty Blooms punch pack because I wanted to match the flower style and colors in the Needlepoint Nook paper. I created a layer banner and as a final touch I used a different pattern of the designer paper for faux washi tape and the strip under my page title.

How to create a fun (and easy) thank you card

The card I want to share today was so fun and easy to create, thanks to my Big Shot. I love this tool and use it almost every week to show you a card idea on my YouTube channel.

If you have been following my blog for a few weeks you will also know that I am so in love with the Happiness Blooms card pack. Yes these cards were designed for memory pages but Stampin' Up! titles these projects as Memories & More. One possibility for more is for card making. 

I wanted to create a thank you card for an online order I received last week and so that was my goal. First I found a super cute card in the Happiness Blooms pack which I layered onto Night of Navy:

Then I die-cut a Night of Navy 'thanks' using the Well Written dies:

I also decided to emboss the Whisper White card base using the Scattered Sequins folder because the pattern reminded me a bit of the flowers on the Happiness Blooms card:

I am part of our work Social Committee and as so many of us live miles away from home we try to organize events for our families to have some fun with and to build a sense of community where we work.

Gift Box Punch Board

Do you own the Gift Box Punch Board and need a creative idea using it? Well, look no more. I have the perfect idea, complete with a list of supplies and step by step instructions!

Ink: Cherry Cobbler (126966), Whisper White (101731), Pear Pizzazz (131180)
Card Stock: Whisper White (100730), Pear Pizzazz (131201), Cherry Cobbler (119685), All is Calm Designer Series Paper (135823)

Tools & Adhesive: Gift Box Punch Board (135863), Party Pennants Bigz Die (133732), Gift Bow Bigz L Die (129977), 1 ¼” Circle Punch (119861), 1 3/4” Scallop Punch (119854), Hexagon Punch (130919), Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (125585),  Dazzling Details (124117), Stampin’ Trimmer (126889), SNAIL Adhesive (104332) & SNAIL Adhesive Refill (104331), Glue Dots (103683), Big Shot (113439), Bone Folder (102300), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) 

Measurements:  

• Pear Pizzaz:  8”x8”, plus scraps for punching
• Cherry Cobbler: approx. 3”x5” for die cutting the pennant
• Whisper White: 1”x4.5” strip, plus scraps for circle punch
• All is Calm Designer Series Paper: approx. 8.5”x5.5” for die cutting

 

Instructions:

1. Score & punch the box using the 8”x8” sheet of cardstock- follow the directions on the Gift Box Punch Board for a 3.25” x 3.25”x 1.75” box; NOTE: add your gift to the box before completing assembly of the box and the next steps ☺
2. Die cut the Cherry Cobbler using the Party Pennants Bigz die, then stamp the stripes from Gorgeous Grunge using the Whisper White ink pad; use a Stamp-a-ma-jig if you prefer perfectly lined up stripes; once ink is dry, score a fold line at about 3” and adhere to the box using Glue Dots
3. Stamp the snowman and snow from White Christmas on Whisper White using Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzaz ink; punch with the 1- ¼” punch, adhere with SNAIL adhesive to the scallop circle punched from Pear Pizzazz; use Dazzling Details to colour in the ‘snow’ & use Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to add small dots of glitter to the scallop circle; allow to dry
4. Die cut the All is Calm Designer Series Paper using the Gift Bow Bigz die and assemble the bow using Glue Dots; adhere to the pennant using Glue Dots
5. Stamp the sentiment on the strip of Whisper White, use the Hexagon punch to create a banner cut on each end, then use the Bone Folder to round out the strip to create a wavy banner; adhere to the box using Glue Dots; add Dazzling Details to create a sparkly border

My Digital Studio wedding invitations, part two

Last week I shared part one of a wedding invite story and the day I spent with this great South African couple who wanted to make their wedding invites rather than buy them.

We spent a great Saturday together, cutting and assembling the invites. The word layer was created using My Digital Studio then printed out onto Crumb Cake cardstock, and written in Afrikkans - one of the advantages of My Digital Studio is you can print what and how you want!

 

Once we had things cut and ready it was time to assemble:

 

The final step in the process was wrapping a piece of ribbon around the entire invite - the crowning touch!

Was there a mess during the process? You bet, but that's just part of the creative process!

Halloween Invitations

This week I have a great idea to share with you - Halloween invitations I created using My Digital Studio!

I love this digital crafting program as so much can be done using it! For many of the images I used the Toxic Frameable designer kit brush stamps (digital stamps are called brush stamps) and Howlstooth and Scaringbone paper. Even the "Join Us" title is a stamp!

This invite was quick and easy to create and will be adapted into a larger format for signs to hang up around the office.

Back To School Gift Ideas!

Stampin' Up!s Convention

I had so much fun at Stampin' Up!s Convention last week I just had to create a My Digital Studio page to preserve the memories!

 To create this page I first added my photos, then the mats, matched the background page paper to one of the photo colors, added the embellishments and titles and then the banner and brad.  All of these products come with the My Digital Studio program.

My Digital Studio Scrapbook Page

It is so great being home and visiting my son in the North Carolina mountains with its breath-taking scenery. We hiked on so many trails and I saw so many beautiful sites that I took several photos to create a My Digital Studio scrapbook page to remember some day. 

 

To create this page I used a World Traveler designer paper for the background, added my photos and journaling and then added the embellishments by picking and choosing from a variety of stamp sets that come with the My Digital Studio program.

Add a little drop shadow and the card is done!

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day to my friends and family in Canada and all my Canadian stamping friends too! I have made you a special celebration card using My Digital Studio. 

Did you know that Stampin' Up! has a Canada Day digital stamp set? The moment it became available for purchase (love that there is no shipping charges on downloads!) I downloaded it to my My Digital Studio program to use. 

After creating the red and white background for my card I added one big maple leaf stamp, resized and recolored it and then essentially created several identical maple leafs using the copy and paste function. My card was complete in mere minutes!
