Hi fellow crafters, it is the week before Christmas and this is when most of us realize there are a couple more people that you need gifts for. Or maybe you have been putting off figuring out a gift idea for that very 'hard to buy for' person. Today I am going to show you how to create a last minute gift card holder. This project will also help you use up those Christmas designer series paper bits and pieces that I know you have lying around.
I have some final bits and pieces of the Peaceful Place designer series paper and so chose a couple of patterns in this pack for my project:
And I thought it would be fun to use some of the dies from the Peaceful Cabin bundle to help add a pop of color on the front of my gift card holder. I am beyond sad that this bundle is retiring on 3 January. (order it today so you have it next year!)
I also used the Fancy Tag Topper punch to create a decorative element:
Add a bit of ribbon and your favorite embellishments and this project is super easy to make - follow along with my video below!
Here's my Peaceful Place gift card holder:
And with the tag outside of the holder:
Want to make this at home? Here's what you need.
Supplies
Stamp set: Peaceful Cabin (156395; bundle 156816)

Today I have a lovely holiday card idea that I created using a combination of products.
First, I used the Peaceful Cabin bundle for the main image:
I have used the cabin stamp and the phrases a lot this season but not the trees dies. The dies are really cool because you can set a realistic winter scene with cutouts. Quickly and easily create die-cut trees, snowflakes, a peaceful cabin, and more. Die-cut pieces allow you to add visual interest and depth to your handmade greeting cards and other papercrafting projects. And that was my goal for this card.
Once I diecut the trees I decided to layer them onto a Scallop rectangle using the Scalloped Contours dies which can be bundles with the Color & Contour stamp set:
As I laid out my card I decided on one more element, to emboss a layer using the Merry Melody folder:
With all these elements I created an elegant but light weight (important for mailing!) Christmas card:
Here's my card from a different angle:
The next time you want to create a card, try combining elements - you just may LOVE what you create too!
Are you running low on Christmas paper and supplies and you still need to make some more holiday cards? Let me show you how to create a beautiful card idea using only one ink pad, two colors of cardstock, one set of dies, one stamp set and some other products I know you already know you have on hand.
One stamp set: Poinsettia Petals stamp set is perfect for creating a variety of holiday cards - not only the images but also the messages you can send using the phrases. Although I am not using the matching dies for my card today, they are just as amazing. You can use the frames to die-cut around the images in the stamp set or use them alone to create textured pieces.
Note: stamp set and dies are sold separately.
One pack of dies: did you know there are 23 dies in the Stitched Stars pack? You can create various custom die-cut stars with or without faux stitching and there are so many ways to use them.
Blending brushes: you can blend ink beautifully using these brushes. Apply extremely light shades of ink or create soft gradient backgrounds with no lines. Or use them with Decorative Masks or stencils: the velvety soft bristles blend ink perfectly. If you don't have these on hand, try sponges to get a similar effect when applying the ink.
Put these supplies together and here's a beauty that you can create in no time:
Supplies
Stamp set: Poinsettia Petals (158251)
Ink: Misty Moonlight
Paper and cutting dimensions: Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"; (5) 2 1/2" square; 3/4" x 4" Misty Moonlight: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; 1" x 4"'
Misc: Stitched Stars dies (150653); Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine; Adhesive Sheets (152334); Blending Brushes (153611); Stampin' Seal
Tip: if you want to order any of the products from me, just click on the product photos above to link over to my online store.
Here's my video, showing you how to make my card. Be sure to watch all the way through for my bonus tips and design ideas, and to see a second card using the same products.
What products would you like me to use next? Let me know in the comments section under this blog post.
Hi fellow crafters! In the past few months I have shared several project ideas using the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and matching Poinsettia dies. Are you ready to take these two products and create an over the top Christmas card, card that you would send to someone special? I would love to show you how!
The Poinsettia Petals stamp set includes images to create custom poinsettias and messages to personalize your cards. The set is no longer bundles with the dies, but great news: you can still purchase the Poinsettia dies separately.
The Poinsettia dies are just as amazing. You can use the frames to die-cut around the images in the stamp set or use them alone to create textured pieces, which is what I am going to do today.
The Heartwarming Hugs patterns are perfect for packaging or cards in traditional Christmas colors. This high-quality printed paper is excellent scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more. Pack includes various tiny patterns of plaid, stripes, dots, and more. It’s a great choice for Christmas cards and projects. This papercrafting staple is great for scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more!
Want to know what help makes this card a stand out? Blending Brushes!
Blend ink beautifully using Blending Brushes. Apply extremely light shades of ink or create soft gradient backgrounds with no lines. Or use them with Decorative Masks or stencils, the velvety soft bristles blend ink perfectly.
Here's my card idea, along with a second card that has a slightly different twist. I explain that on my video tutorial below.
Can you spot the differences?
Supplies
Stamp set: Poinsettia Petals (152152)

I am so sad that my favorite bundle in the Aug-Dec Mini catalog is retiring, so I am determined to use it as much as I can until January arrives. I am not sure I can part with this bundle, ever!
The Peaceful Cabin is so tranquil and reminds me of our family cabin in the woods back home. You can use the stamps separately, or you can pair them together to create a peaceful, wintry scene. Quickly and easily create die-cut trees, snowflakes, a peaceful cabin, and more with the matching dies.
To purchase the bundle (while supplies last), click here.
The die-cut pieces allow you to add visual interest and depth, which is what I did on today's project.
The Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper helps you to keep that tranquil mood on your cards with its calming nature scenes and muted color schemes.
When you put these products together you can create a fabulous memory or scrapbook page to capture winter or holiday memories this year. Create a stamped or die-cut title to match your photos and page theme. Tip: see a full set of instructions below the page photo.
This will be my final week sharing Christmas card ideas and I have save some of the best for last. Make a creative effort this week and get your holiday cards in the mail. Hi fellow crafters! Today I am going to take a break from my Christmas Gift Countdown (don't worry I will be back tomorrow for a Cyber Monday BONUS offer!) to bring you a super easy and really fun Gift Card Pocket idea. I will be using my Poinsettia Petals and Eden's Garden stamp sets, and the beautiful Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper:
The Heartwarming Hugs paper has perfect patterns for packaging or cards in traditional Christmas colors. This high-quality printed paper is excellent scrapbook paper, card making paper, and more. And I have shared several projects using the beautiful Eden's Garden Collection, here's one of my faves, showing you how to make a Double Flap fun fold idea.
What a shock to get the new Mini Catalog in the mail this week and realize that the Ever Eden designer series paper and Cotton paper are not in the new catalog. This means you need to purchase it now - before it is gone for good.
So on to today's project - this super easy gift card holder. Of course this project doesn't have to be a gift card holder, you can simply make it a lovely Christmas card with a holiday message instead of attaching a gift card.

Hi fellow crafters! In today's video, I am going to show you a fun fold card idea that offers not one, but two gifts as well. I am going to create a Christmas fun fold card featuring the Poinsettia Petals stamp set, the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and coordinating Peaceful Place paper and the Tailor Made Tags dies.
The Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set is so tranquil. You can use the stamps separately, or you can pair them together to create a peaceful, wintry scene.

The Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper helps you to keep that tranquil mood on your cards with its calming nature scenes and muted color schemes.

Mix, match, and layer the Tailor Made Tags dies in different sizes and colors. Create tags for any occasion you need: birthday cards, goodie bags, gift packages. Stamp sentiments from your favorite stamp sets, then cut out. It’s that easy to create custom tags!
Here's my card idea - under these photos you will find a list of supplies and measurements AND a video tutorial!

Holly takes center stage in the holiday-themed Happy Holly-Days stamp set. Combine the bird and holly images with conventional Christmastime greetings to create cards and other projects. With this variety of greetings, you can customize your Christmas cards for everyone on your list. And when the holidays are done, you can use the bird on springtime or Easter creations.
But since Christmas is just around the corner, let's focus on this holly-day (hehe) first! Today's card is perfect for those of you how love to color, using Stampin' Blends, Watercolor pencils, and Blending Brushes. Why not all three!
Fold 5 ½” x 8 ½” Real Red card stock in half to create card base.
Ink largest branch from “Birds & Branches” set with Soft Suede ink pad and stamp onto 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White card stock. Stamp bird from “Happy Holly-Days” with Black Memento, lining up along the stamped branch. Fill in the areas around the bird with the holly image (stamp with Black Memento) and smaller branches (stamp with Soft Suede).
Color the holly leaves with Granny Apple Stampin' Blends Combo and the berries with the Real Red Stampin' Blends Combo.
Color the bird with Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Combo. Add Real Red pencil crayon onto bird's breast and smooth out with Blender Pen. Use Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Combo for for the beak and Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blend marker for the legs/feet.
Add Balmy Blue ink to card using Blending Brush. Next, add Night of Navy ink around the card's edges, also with the Blending Brush.
For some shimmer, add a touch of Clear Wink of Stella to the bird and all of the holly.
Stamp “Season's Greetings” from the Tidings & Trimmings set using Real Red ink pad.
Position die from Stitched So Sweetly collection on centre of stamped piece, and cut. Glue the 4” x 5 ¼” piece to Real Red card base.
Use next largest die to cut 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” Real Red card stock. Layer the two die cuts together using Stampin' Dimensionals. Place onto center of card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Place a tiny strip of Tear & Tape onto card to adhere Linen Thread bow.
Add sequins to card to finish.
Can you see the Wink of Stella in the photo below? Gorgeous!

It's time for another Paper Craft Crew card sketch! This week's map is super fun and has so many possibilities:
I thought it would be fun to create my card map card using the Playful Alphabet dies. You can create custom die-cut letters, numbers, and more using the Playful Alphabet dies. The dies include duplicate letters (A, E, I, L, N, O, P, R, S, T). Pair with the coordinating Pattern Play Stamp Set for more creative options. These dies are great for handmade birthday cards, scrapbook pages, and other paper crafts.
I need to get going on my Christmas cards so thought that it would be fun to create a holiday card for this week's challenge. I originally thought I would use the Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper. I chose my two matching designs and after my card was finished I realized that one of the patterns is NOT part of the Heartwarming Hugs paper pack. Go figure: another piece of evidence that I am a scrap-a-holic and save everything!
For the phrase I chose the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. I love that phrases in this set!
But I still like my card - even though it is a bit crooked and I have no idea where that paper came from:
Now it's your turn! Why not try this week's map and see what you can create? Then you can celebrate having one of your holiday cards done for this season.
Hi fellow crafters! The Double Point fun fold technique was all the rage last year but I only learned how to create it this week - there are just so many ideas to learn out, aren't there? I was surprised how easy this fun fold is to make, so why not give it a try too! I will be using my Peaceful Cabin bundle, and the gorgeous corresponding Peaceful Place designer series paper.
I recently purchased the Peaceful Cabin bundle because our family has had a little cabin in the woods for years and even though I live far from there that place and many special moments remain in my heart. So when I saw it in the catalog I knew I had to have it, not only for Christmas cards this year but well beyond too.
Tip: click on any of the product photos below to order them at my online store
