Measurements: 

• Basic White (Base): 8 ½” x 5 ½”; scored at 4 ¼”
• Basic White (layer): 3 ¾” x 5”
• Basic Black: 3 ½” x 3 ½”
• Designer Series Paper: 3 ¼” x 2”
• Basic White (die cut circle): 2” x 2”
• Ribbon: 7 ½”

Instructions:

1. Fold the Basic White cardstock in half to form the card base.
2. Place Basic Black cardstock in the polka dot pattern embossing folder and emboss using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
3. Cut the black embossed card with a paper trimmer at an angle creating two triangles.
4. Attach to the 3 ¾” x 5” Basic White layer as shown in the photo.
5. Stamp the confetti image with Black ink on the white layer. Attach to the card base.
6. Die cut a racoon from Zany Zoo Designer Series Paper. Color the racoon with Stampin’ Blends. Attach to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7. Die cut a stitched circle from Basic White card stock using the Stylish Shapes dies,
8. Stamp the sentiment with Black ink.
9. Add adhesive to the back of the sentiment and attach the ribbon.
10. Attach to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

How can you not love this stamp set? It is perfect for baby cards and children's cards, isn't it? The images are super sweet and perfect for those of you who love to watercolor, use Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Write markers, watercolor pencils and so on. 

The other fun part of this week's card map challenge is that there is no specific layout to follow. So your creative ideas can spill over onto your card stock. I decided to keep my layout very simple. I used a piece of the Well Suited paper pack:

my Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends and a strip of Basic Gray satin ribbon. To feature my favorite critters I chose to layer them onto one of my Stitched Nested Labels dies - such a nice way to feature my critters.

I was inspired for my card by an idea that another demonstrator created. Her card looks completely different from mine below but when I saw her use the Stone embossing folder on her Wildly Happy card, I got today's idea - don't you love how seeing what someone else has created can spark a new idea for you? 

I decided to keep my card very monochromatic using Smoky Slate as my base color - it made me think of the color of an elephant and how the elephant's skin looks similar to the Stone 3D folder.

How to make a non-gender baby card

I have several colleagues at work who are expecting their first baby and all of them have decided not to find out whether it will be a boy or a girl. 

So that can make it a bit difficult when creating a baby card. What commonly happens is that card designers choose yellows or greens for card bases, just to be on the safe side. 

This Hoot Hoot Hooray card uses combo of greens: Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron. The Mint Macaron layer was embossed using the Tufted folder, perfect for a baby card (and wedding cards too).

The rocking horse image was coloured using Stampin' Blends and here's where the fun happens. Both pinks and blues were used to color the image, making it perfect for a card that is non-gender specific. Add a simple, sparkly bow and the card is complete:

1. Emboss the Mint Macaron cardstock.

3. Layer cardstock. Use Dimensionals to attach the layer of Soft Seafoam cardstock
4. Tie a bow with the ribbon and attach to the card.

A sweet baby card that will be loved by all

This week's Paper Craft Crew challenge was a tough one for me because I thought I didn't have any sets that would work:

Last year's catalog would have worked for me because I had the Pretty Kitty set. So I almost gave up on myself and was thinking that I would simply skip this week's challenge. 

Until I got home from work and decided to see what I had that might work (I am persistent!). First I spotted the Dashing Deer set and convinced myself that a deer could be a pet. Ok ok, yes I was grasping at creative straws! 

But then I saw the Wildly Happy set. I automatically gravitate to the elephants because I just love them. And then I spotted the bunnies and BINGO, I would use this image for this week's card.

Lately I have been doing some simple stamping, keeping it easy on myself and surprisingly I have quite liked what I have created. Here's my card - all I did was use Versamark ink for the flower images on the Seaside Spray card base (yummy color it is!) and then a strip of left over Magnolia Lane paper as a contrasting layer and to coordinate with the  'grass' and flower stems (from the Daisy Delight stamp set).

A baby card to make you wildly happy

When I saw this week's challenge map I knew right away what special event I wanted to create a card for: a baby!

Well that card was so fun to make and I love that set so much that I thought I would show you a second idea in case you decide to purchase it when the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog goes live next month. 

Plus, I made a New Year's resolution to use up my supplies this year so I will be guilt-free when the next Annual Catalog launches as I know I will want everything in there!

After I stamped and colored the elephants image I die-cut it out, along with the Petal Pink layer, using my Layering Squares framelits dies. I stamped and punched the phrase - easy peasy!

A fun way to frame a super cute baby image

What do a frog, a giraffe, a koala bear, a bird, a kangaroo and a rhino all have in common? The answer's obvious: they're all in the Animal Outing stamp set! And today I have a cute baby card idea that you can create that will frame one if the images in this set - literally.

When I think of baby cards, there are two ways to go: 1. soft muted colors like the Subtles collection (pinks, blues, greens, purples, yellows) or 2. Brights, which have deeper tones: blues, yellows, greens and oranges. It depends on my mood when crafting or if I know the preference of the mom to be and I want to match that.

Instructions:

1. Score and fold Pineapple Punch card base.
2. Using the second largest rectangle and the Big Shot cut out the Whisper White layer.  Stamp using the Memento stamp pad and color using the Blends. 
3. Using the second largest and the fourth largest rectangle and the Big Shot cut the frame out of the Grapefruit Grove cardstock.  
4. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue adhere the frame over the Whisper White 'picture' you have created.
5. Adhere the framed 'picture' to the base card.
6. Stamp 'Welcome Little One' on a 1/2" strip of the matching Gingham Gala DSP.  Cut to length desired and cut a small triangle out of the right end to create a banner.  Adhere with Multipurpose Glue.

This baby card will make someone wildly happy

I can't resist a play on words (sorry). When I won the Wildly Happy stamp set at Stampin' Up!s On Stage event this month I was wildly happy (HA). 

I love the baby images and phrases in this set and decided that even though it won't be released for purchase until June 3, I would start you off with one baby card idea that will make someone wildly happy (ok, I will stop it now). 

The first product that came to mind was the Wood Textures designer series paper and so I chose a left over piece from the pack - it seemed to have a bit of grey in the design so I decided my card base would be Smoky Slate.

The perfect way to welcome a new baby

In today's video tutorial, I am going to show you how to create a very cute and colorful baby card idea, with the help of my Big Shot and Beauty Abounds stamp set.

I recently heard that two friends of mine are each expecting their first baby so I need to get cracking on some baby cards for them. I don't have specific baby sets so thought I would use what I have and then use the 'baby' phrase from the Well Written framelits pack.

How to create a quick and colorful baby card

Babies are born year round so it is a really good idea to have a stash waiting just in case. Today I will show you how to create a quick and colorful baby card idea using the Better Together stamp set. This set is perfect for so many occasions so I am going to create a series of card and video tutorials (see a second card idea here) using this set so you see the value in purchasing it .

To make the card below I started by choosing a strip of the Twinkle, Twinkle designer paper and let the colors in the paper be my guide for all the layers. The colors in this paper pack are:

I also decided to keep the card very simple by using one diaper pin as the main embellishment. You can add more for more details and interest but I wanted this card to be simple so only used one.

When did you last make a card for a little friend?

 Don't forget those little people in your lives - even the ones who can't read yet. I have a very young nephew who lives in Canada and although he doesn't know me well, I still send him a card once in a while to help him practice reading and also so he knows that I still love him to bits from afar.

1. Fold the Call Me Clover card base in half and adhere the piece of designer series paper to the right side.  Choose anyone of the fun patterns.
2. Stamp the elephant in Call Me Clover ink and punch using the Elephant Builder Punch. (I like to use strips of white to save on paper.)  Set aside.
3. Cut the largest square Stitched Framelit in Whisper White.
4. Stamp the hearts on the Stitched Square and then stamp the sentiment.  Use the elephant to decide placement of both.
5. Adhere the punched elephant to the square using dimensionals.
6. Now add the completed square to the card using dimensionals.  
7. Wrap the Whisper White Twine twice around the side of the card and tie in a bow.
8. Add a rhinestone to the elephant’s eye.
9. Stamp a Happy Birthday or any other sentiment you would like to the inside of the card.  I added an elephant on the inside with the little bird on his nose…so cute!  
10. Stamp an elephant on your envelope and send to a special friend.

Here's how to make this super cute card, including step by step instructions!

Supplies:

• Stamp Pads –Early Espresso (147114), Pineapple Punch (147141), Call Me Clover (147139), Bermuda Bay (147096)

Measurements:

• Call Me Clover Cardstock 11” x 4-1/4”. Score and fold at 5-1/2”.
• Tranquil Textures Designer Paper-2 patterns 5-1/2” x 3”. Cut both diagonally and keep a top part of one pattern and a bottom part of the second pattern.

 

Instructions:

1. Fold card base on fold line.
2. Using a scrap piece of cardstock (any color), glue to the backside of the designer paper on the diagonal cut and glue both pieces side-by-side. This will hold the two pieces together. Set aside.
3. Using the border die from the Flourish Thinlits Dies, cut (2) using Pineapple Punch Cardstock. Glue to each side of the designer paper layer on the underside. Glue this layer to card front, centered.
4. Using Pineapple Punch Cardstock, cut a scalloped frame using the scallop square die that measures 2-1/2” and cut a square hole on the inside that measures 1-7/8”. Set aside.
5. Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to fit under the frame and add a color wash to the top using an Aqua Painter with Bermuda Bay Ink. Once dry, stamp the branch image using Call Me Clover Ink and color using the ink pad and a Blender Pen. Glue to the back of the frame and glue the frame in place to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
6. Stamp the giraffe image using Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Color the image using a Blender Pen and the ink pads. Just dab the color on so you don’t smudge the inked lines. Hand-cut the giraffe and glue to the inside of the frame.
7. Using the Leaf Punch and the Call Me Clover Cardstock, cut (4) leaves. Glue to the underside of the frame.
8. Stamp the two sentiments on Whisper White Cardstock using Early Espresso Ink. Hand cut into small rectangles and glue to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Measurements:  

• So Saffron: 8 ½ ” x 5 ½”  Score at 4 ¼ ” , 3“x 3”
• Basic Black: 5 ¼” x 4”
• Whisper White: 5 1/8” x 3 7/8 “, 3” x 3”

 

Instructions:

1. Emboss the top 2/3 of the larger Whisper White piece with the embossing folder.  Stamp the greeting and Bumble Bees using Stazon ink.
2. Stamp the Bear onto Watercolor Paper using Stazon Ink.  Watercolor using the Aquapainter and Crumb Cake ink pad.
3. Cut out the bear using framelits and trim off the top around it’s head. 
4. Cut out 2 1/8 “ Whisper White circle using framelits.
5. Cut out 2 3/8” stitched circle framelit from So Saffron. 
6. Layer the Whisper White onto the Basic Black. Tie a ribbon around to cover the base of embossed area. Layer onto the So Saffron Card base.  
7. Attach the bear to the Whisper White circle and onto the So Saffron Stitched circle.  Layer this to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
8. Color the Bumble Bees with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and ink from Daffodil Delight Ink pad.

A sweet card to welcome a little one

Measurements:  

• Thick Cardstock: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2” for card base
• Bermuda Bay Cardstock: 3-1/2” x 3-1/4”; scrap for tag 
• Whisper White Cardstock: 3-1/4” x 3”; scrap for tag
• Designer Series Paper: 4” x 5-1/4”
• Bermuda Bay Ribbon: 20” 

 

Instructions:

1. Adhere Designer Paper to card base and set aside.
2. Stamp bunny with Soft Sky, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay inks on white cardstock.  Layer onto Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Attach to card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
3. Stamp “Hip hop hooray!” with Bermuda Bay ink on white scrap and punch with Classic Label punch.  Adhere to scrap of Bermuda Bay cardstock and trim edges to frame the tag.  Attach to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
4. Wrap ribbon around fold and tie in a bow.

How to create a dreamy baby card

It's time for another Paper Craft Crew card map and this week my Moon Baby card is quite a different take on this map!

 

I loved this map from the moment I saw it but wanted to do something completely different. The cloud gave me the idea for a baby card and the Naturally Eclectic paper was the perfect background layer!
