This cute purse uses the Tune In bundle, an original, retro style stamp set!

The Tune In set offers many creative possibilities with images and sentiments working nicely together. Create a scene with the TV screen and other elements either stamped within or around the TV, make your project playful by pairing inside and outside greetings, or choose one of the smaller images and stamp it repeatedly to create an original background on a card font. 

The dies come with cutouts of different parts of a TV set, so you can easily mix and match the paper you use. You can use different adhesives to layer your die cuts on your paper craft for additional dimension. I hope you can see that there are so many paper craft possibilities with this playful, nostalgic bundle.

Supplies:

• Stamp Sets – Tune In (163633) -OR- Bundle with dies (163637)
• Card Stock – Basic White (159276); Daffodil Delight (119683); Summer Splash (163797); Berry Burst/Old Olive/White Glimmer Paper (163769)
• Stamp Pads – Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad (132708); Daffodil Delight (147094); Berry Burst (147143)
• Misc. – 1-¾” Circle Punch (119850) 2-⅜” Circle Punch (161354); Mini Cut & Emboss Machine (150673); Paper Trimmer (152392); Paper Snips (103579); Tear & Tape (154031); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755); Dimensionals (104430); Mini Glue Dots (103683); Optional: Tissue Paper

Measurements: 

• Daffodil Delight card stock: 8-½” x 5-½” plus scrap for TV antenna
• Summer Splash card stock: 3” x 8-½”
• Basic White card stock: 2-¼” x 2”           
• Berry Burst glimmer paper: 2-½” x 3-¼”

Instructions:

1. Score Daffodil Delight card stock at 3-¾” and 4-¾” horizontally and 1” and 4-½” vertically. Fold along all score lines. Open and snip on either side of the score lines that are 1” apart up to intersecting score line (as shown) on both long sides. Use 1-¾” Circle Punch to punch half circles into both short ends.
2. On one end of Summer Splash card stock, punch 1-¾” Circle Punch about ½” from both edges, then use 2-⅜” Circle Punch to punch a circle AROUND the 1-3/4” circle, creating a ring. Repeat (leaving space to stamp TV on remainder of Summer Splash card stock).
3. Adhere rings: Apply liquid glue below half circles on each end of Daffodil Delight card stock and lay rings over the glue (half of the rings will not be adhered) creating “handles”. Add 1” strips of Tear & Tape on the SAME SIDE between center cuts.
4. ON OPPOSITE SIDE: Add Tear & Tape to 2 side flaps, as shown above. Fold in small sections, as shown, remove paper from Tear & Tape and fold the flaps without adhesive in, adhering to outside of small center pieces. Finish by folding the flaps WITH adhesive around outside of other flaps, creating a box.
5. Stamp Television in black on Summer Splash and antenna on Daffodil Delight, then die cut, along with the screen from white card stock.
6. Die cut a set of 3 “sparkles” from *center* of the Berry Burst glimmer paper and attach to 3 mini glue dots. Adhere the rest of the glimmer paper to front of purse (the missing sparkles will be covered by TV in next step).
7. Stamp sparkles in Daffodil Delight onto white “screen”, then “Happy Birthday” in Berry Burst. Adhere Screen to TV front and antenna to top. Use dimensionals to attach TV to purse front over glimmer paper (covering where you cut the sparkles).
8. Add 3 berry burst sparkles from step 6 to TV or purse.
9. Place gift inside tissue paper, if desired, then into purse.

This sweet Hello Ladybug gift bag couldn’t be easier! It’s made with just one-half of a sheet of 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper and then embellished however you like.

Basic Box

Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (“DSP”): 11-1/2” x 6”. With long edge lined up at top of scoring tool, score at 1/2”, 2”, 6” and 7-1/2”; turn so short edge lines up with top of scoring tool and score at 1-1/2” along long edge (see diagram)

Gift Bag Assembly

 

1. Cut and score DSP as shown in the diagram. Fold away from all score lines.

2. Use Tear ‘n Tape or other strong adhesive to attach outside of the 1/2" flap to the inside of the opposite end of DSP, forming a rectangular shape.

3. Stand rectangle on open end with Flaps A thru D facing up. Fold down Flaps A and C; apply adhesive to outside of both flaps and then fold Flap D down to cover the adhesive. It’s helpful at this point to flip the bag around so it’s standing upright and use the rounded end of a bone folder to rub across Flaps A and B, making sure they are securely attached to Flap D.

4. Flip the bag back around to the upside-down position and adhere Flap B over Flap D. That’s it! The basic gift bag is complete!

* Real Red Classic Stampin’ Pad

* Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder

* Real Red card stock: 3-1/4” x 3-3/4”, plus scrap for ladybug wings

* White card stock: 2-3/4” x 3-1/4”

* Black card stock scrap for ladybug body

* Matte Black Dots for spots on ladybug wings

 

Instructions

1. Stamp Daffodil Delight Daisies on white card stock. Stamp Real Red center in each flower. Emboss card stock with Brick & Mortar embossing folder. Adhere to Real Red card stock.
2. Punch ladybug body from black card stock; punch wings from Real Red card stock. Adhere wings to body and attach to white card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add self-adhesive Matte Black Dots to wings.
3. Adhere finished piece to front of bag with Stampin’ Dimensionals or Foam Tape.
4. The finishing touch is a red and white polka-dot napkin used in place of tissue paper. Your bag is now ready to insert a small gift for a special friend! (Finished measurements of gift bag are 4” wide x 4-1/2” tall x 1-1/2” deep.

I was cleaning up my craft cupboard the other day and spotted my Gift Bag Punch Board. I realized I haven't created a gift bag for ages so thought it was about time I did so!

I used to make gift bags all the time and have no idea why I haven't done so recently. They are so easy to make and Stampin' Up! has even come out with a video using the Gift Bag Punch Board. Have a look to see how easy they are to create!

 

I decided to make a small gift bag to share with you using Blueberry Bushel card stock as my card base. Then I chose a corresponding pattern and color from the 2018-2020 In Color Designer Paper pack:

As you know I make a New Year's resolution to use up my accessories before they retire in May so that I have a clear conscience to buy more when the next Annual Catalog comes out in June! My last design choice was to create a Mango Melody butterfly to add a fun little touch on my bag. 

The dot on the 'i' is one of the Best Route Enamel Shapes and the bag is held closed using a trip of Blueberry Bushel ribbon. What do you think? Cute, right?

Measurements:  

• Garden Green: 2” x 4 3/4” Scrap for Scallop circle
• Whisper White: Scrap for Stitched Circle
• DSP: 2” x 3 1/2”                
• Die cut the elf and pole

 

Instructions:

1. Punch one end of the 2” x 4 3/4 piece of Garden Green cardstock with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
2. Attach the Santa Workshop polka dot paper to the punched layer and set aside
3. Die cut the elf and pole from the Santa Workshop DSP and then stamp the North Pole onto the pole with the Memento Black Ink.
4. Attach the Whisper White stitched circle to the Garden Green Scalloped Circle and then add the elf and pole.
5. Use Dimensionals to attach the completed circle to the tag.
6. Tie a bow with the Poppy Parade Ribbon and add to the top of the tag with 2 Glue Dots
7. Attach the Whisper White Bakers Twine to the top of the tag.
8. Here I have used the tag on the Santa Bags (147812) but this tag can also be used on any other bag or wrapped gift or even as the focal point of a card.

Tis the season for making beautiful gift bags!

I love this time of year. Time to shop for presents for those special people in my life. Time for holiday gatherings and parties. And then the time when I wish I had beautiful packaging for those fun presents.

This time of year is also very busy in my daily job. I am away at a week long conference - one where educators from Africa, Europe and the Middle East come together to share what's happening in their amazing schools. I am sad that I can't be here to make you a personal video tutorial, but as always, I won't let you down!

Sundays with Sizzix: Mini Treat Bags Thinlits

This has certainly not been my month. I came home from a business trip last week and discovered my apartment had been burglarized, all my belongings strewn everywhere, and my computer and jewelry stolen. 

So, sad to say, I don't have a video tutorial for my Sundays with Sizzix blog post today but Stampin' Up! has created one that is perfect to share until I get a new computer up and running.

Bag with Scallops

Here's a quick and easy chocolate treat box from someone "sweet" in your life. I used the Big Shot Bag with Scallops BIGZ die and Cameo Coral card stock.

The star background, from the Hello Again stamp set, was stamped using Versamark on the front and back pieces. The Things I Love "chocolate" image was stamped using Soft Suede classic ink, punched out using the 1 1/4" circle punch, layered onto a Cameo Coral 1 3/8" circle, then onto a Bermuda Bay Scallop circle. The box is held shut by a piece of Bermuda Bay polka-dot ribbon.
