Stamp set: Decorative Trees (bundle, 164085)

Ink: Old Olive

Paper and cutting dimensions: Old Olive: (2) 2 ¾” x 3 ½”; 3” x 1” Cherry Cobbler: 5 ½” x 2 ¾”; 8 ½” x 5 ½”

Season of Elegance: (2) ¾” x 5 ½”; ½” x 5 ½”; scrap for bows

Misc: Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper (164144); Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine; Gold Textured Dots (164027); Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder (164049); Stampin’ Dimensionals

Instructions

1. Fold Cherry Cobbler in half to create card base.

2. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere 2 (red) strips of Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper to card base, then layer (green) strip on top of one of the (red) strips, slightly off-set.

3. Emboss Cherry Cobbler layer using Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder and then adhere to card front.

4. Die-cut 2 Old Olive trees and adhere together.

5. Die-cut bows using Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper. Adhere to tree.

6. Ink phrase using Old Olive ink and stamp onto Old Olive paper. Adhere to card front, near bottom.

7. Attach tree to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

8. Add 3 Gold Textured Dots to card front to complete card.

Measurements: 

• Early Espresso:  8 1/2” x 5 1/2”
• Basic White: 3 ¾” x 5”
• Sweet Days of Autumn print   4” x 4”
• Sweet Days of Autumn print: 4” x 2”
• Autumn to Remember Two Tone” 4” x 2”
• Scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock to die cut label      

Instructions:

1. Use copper Metallic Enamel Effects to add veins to 3 Woven Golden leaves. Set aside to dry while you create the card
2. Score 8 ½ x 5 ½ piece of Basic White card in half and fold forming card base
3. Adhere the 4” x 2” piece of Sweet Days of Autumn designer paper to top of card front leaving an even border top and sides
4. Adhere the 4” x 4” piece of Sweet Days of Autumn designer paper to card front overlapping the piece from step so that you have an even border on all 4 sides of the card front
5. Tear the edges of the Autumn To Remember Two Tone cardstock revealing the white center.
6. Add torn piece to card front as seen in photo above
7. Stamp greeting using Early Espresso Ink on a scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock
8. Die cut greeting using Peaceful Season banner die
9. Cut length of Linen thread and great double bow
10. Layer leaves under die cut banner greeting (I used sticky tape)
11. Add sticky tape over leaves removing backing and adhering to torn Autumn to Remember piece as seen in photo
12. Add Linen thread bow
13. Add greeting and or handwritten message to the 3 ¾” x 5” piece of Basic White cardstock
14. Add piece from step 13 to inside of card

Today I want to share with you a fun Decorative Trees Treat Holder:

 

 

This treat holder is easy to create. It’s basically two tags adhered to a small open topped box. The box is 2 ½” x 1” x 1 ½” and can hold a good amount of goodies. This would be a great teacher, co-worker gift, or a sweet addition to your holiday table with one of these sitting at every plate.

Supplies:

• Stamp Set – Decorative Trees
• Card Stock – Basic White; Shaded Spruce
• Stamp Pads – Shaded Spruce
• Misc. – Decorative Trees Dies; Greetings of the Season Dies; Dimensionals; Bone Folder; Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine; Paper Trimmer; Paper Snips; Bakers Twine Essentials Pack (White); Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder; 2024 – 2026 In Color Glimmer Paper; Gold & Silver 1/8” Trim Combo (gold), candy for filler
  
  

Measurements:  

• Basic White: 4” x 2”, scrap for sentiment; 2 (5 1/4” x 4”); 2 1/2” x 4”; scrap for sentiment
• Peach Pie Glimmer Paper: 2 ½” x 3 ½”
• Shaded Spruce: 7 ½” x 2 ½”, 8 ½” x 4”
• White Bakers Twine: 3”
• Gold Ribbon: 5”
• Basic White: 

Instructions:

1. Create the simple open topped box by scoring the 7 ½” x 2 ½” piece of Shaded Spruce card stock at 1” on the short side and at 2 ½”, 3 ½, 6” and 7” on the long side. Refer to diagram and cut on the solid lines to create flaps for the bottom of the box.  Use bone folder to press each fold (scored line). Add multi-purpose liquid glue to the ½” tab on the side of the box and adhere to opposite end.  Fold bottom side tabs into the box and add glue to the final tab to secure the bottom of the box. For best results, box should sit flat on tabletop with square sides.
2. Use the large tag die from the Greetings of the Seasons Dies to create two Shaded Spruce tags. Die cut the large 6-sided shape from the same set of dies in Basic White.  Emboss this piece with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere this piece to the front of one of the tags – line up the holes in each die so they match up.
3. Die cut a plaid tree using the die from Decorative Trees and remaining Shaded Spruce card stock. Die cut the tree shape and a star from the Peach Pie Glimmer Paper. Adhere the plaid die cut to the glimmer tree with multi-purpose liquid glue. Adhere star to the top of the tree with a dimensional.
4. Adhere tags to the box created in step 1. For best results, add glue to the front and back of the box (rather than the tag). With the box upright on the table, adhere the tags to the box. Holes in the two tags should line up at the top. Adhere the tree shape to the front with dimensionals.
5. Stamp greeting on a scrap of Basic White card stock with Shaded Spruce ink and die cut with a tag shape from the Greetings of the Season dies. Add white bakers’ twine and adhere to tree front with dimensionals.
6. Insert candy into box and loop gold ribbon thru the tag holes.

Quick Project: Forest Textured Gift Tags

Here’s a quick and simple idea! Emboss small squares of cardstock using the Painted Trees 3D folder, then cut them into tag shapes. Add a touch of metallic ink on the raised areas and punch a hole at the top. Thread through some twine, and voilà—gorgeous gift tags that will impress anyone!

This little treat holder is so easy to make and great for leaving on someone’s pillow or desk as a little thank you treat. Make it in any type of designer series paper and fill it with tea bags or Ghirardelli chocolate. Since Christmas is coming up quickly, use Christmas themed paper and use these treat holders to stuff in a stocking. Heck…you could even tie one to a gift as a little extra.

 

Supplies

Stamp set – none

Ink – none

Paper including cutting dimensions – any type designer series paper 6” x 6”. This sample uses the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series paper (164209), stocking design.

A hole punch

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Score lines as shown on the template on the dsp.

2. Fold the two 2” score lines in as in the photo below. 
   
   
   
   
   
3. Make mountain folds on the ¾” score lines so that the tips meet each other. See photo below.
   
   
   
   
   
4. Punch a hole in the top and tie a ribbon through the holes.
5. Place a Ghirardelli chocolate in each side or tea bags.

That’s all there is to making these. You can embellish them with a stamped and die-cut image, attach a greeting on a label, or add a tag to the tied bow.

If you're just beginning to explore color combinations, this is a good place to start. Choose one color that you love and pair it with shades and tints of that same color.  Your colors will always match!

Choose three side-by-side colors.  These neighbors work together wonderfully to create harmony and balance.

Neutrals and In-Colors

Our neutral colors are shown on the back of the wheel.  These are the perfect companions to almost any color combination. 

To keep the color wheel current beyond the end of the Annual Catalog, the In-Colors have NOT been included.  I'm sure you'll be able to fit them in!

How to Use the Color Coach for Cardmaking and Scrapbooking

1. Start with a Base Color: Choose one color from the Color Coach as your main color. This can be the card base, the background of a scrapbook page, or the dominant shade of a focal element.

2. Select Accent Colors: Use the suggested color combinations to find one or two accent colors. These colors can be used for layering, matting, or embellishing your design.
