Instructions:

1. Fold Basic White cardstock in half and score to create card base.
2. Adhere Tahitian Tide layer to card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
3. Dry emboss Basic White layer using Layered Florals 3D embossing folder.
   
   
   
   
4. Color one flower using Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
5. Brush Ink of Stella over center of flower (colored with Daffodil Delight blends).
   
   
   
   
   
6. Adhere embossed layer to card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
7. Ink phrase using Tahitian Tide ink and stamp onto Basic White strip. Adhere to card front.
8. Using Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blend, color 2 Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels. Add Jewels to card front to complete card.

Instructions:

1. Add the Rock & Roll DSP to the Basic White
2. Add the Basic White 6” x 4” to the Garden Green pieces 6 ¼” x 4 ¼”
3. Stamp the sunflowers on Basic White 3 ¼” x 3 ¼” in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Color the sunflower using Lemon Lolly blends for the petals, Mossy Meadow fir the leaves and Pecan Pie for the centers.  Cut out using the largest Stylish Shapes Circles Die.
4. Stamp one of the cow bodies using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White scraps. This cow will be punched out with the Cutest Cows Builder Punch.  Stamp the 2^nd cow body on the Basic White Stylish Shapes die.  Color the two cows using Pecan Pie Blends.  Color the bottom of the ears and the nose in Ivory Blends.
5. Using the “grass” die from the Sending Loves Dies, cut out the 11” x 1” piece of Garden Green. I cut out one piece and then moved the die along to get the whole 11” piece.  I actually turned the piece on the wrong side as it does leave a “dent”.
6. Stamp the sentiment “It’s Your Special Day” on Basic White 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Cut out using the 2nd from smallest die. 
7. Cut Garden Green 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” using the 3^rd from smallest circle die of Stylish Shapes
8. Cut Garden Green 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” using the 2^nd from largest Stylish Shapes Dies (you will need two of these)
9. Cut Basic White 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” using the 3^rd from Largest Stylish Shapes Dies
10. Stamp the “Milk it for all it’s Worth” in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the Basic White 3” x ¾” and cut out using the long thin die from Stylish Shapes

ASSEMBLY

• Adhere the two photo pieces to the top part of the page.
• Adhere the sunflower piece to the center of the two photos pieces
• Adhere the 11” x 1” piece of grass along the bottom of the Rock & Roll DSP piece.
• Adhere the punched-out cow on the Garden Green Stylish Shapes Circle. Adhere the head on the body with a Stampin’ Dimensional
• Adhere the 2^nd head on the stamped cow with a Stampin’ Dimensional
• Add the two cows to the page as shown in picture
• Add the circle sentiment on Basic white to the Garden Green circle and to the page
• Add the 2^nd sentiment at the bottom on the “grass”

 

 

Let's think of spring with this colorful challenge

This week's Paper Craft Crew card sketch challenge is a fun one for spring!

So I dug through my stamp stash to see what I could find. Here's a bundle I have not used in months! So today is the day:

Although the sketch above is really colorful, I decided to go for muted colors instead (dare to be different!): Soft Sea Foam and the retiring Sweet Sorbet.

Shall we use the new In Colors on a card?

Today I have a beautiful spring card idea to share. And let’s be cheeky and use the new In Colors, shall we?

For the main focal points on my card, I decided to use my Cheerful Daisies bundle. 

You'll love everything you can do with this set. Use the solid images, perfect for quick stamping in one color. Or use the open line-art images for watercoloring. I also like that the set has sentiments for —birthday, thanks, thinking of you and sorry.

The flowers, stems, and leaves in the die pack are all separate so you can create a single stemmed flower or create a bed of flowers and greenery which is what we are going to do. There's also a label die so you can cut out a stamped sentiment and add it to your cards.

Note: Right now the dies and stamp set are sold as a bundle. They are not retiring (yippee) but in the next Annual Catalog they will be sold separately. If you are budget conscious like I am then you’ll want to purchase the bundle by 30 April to save.

Measurements:  

• Basic White: 4” x 5 ¼”; 2 ½” x 3 ½”; scrap
• Balmy Blue: 5 ½” x 8 ½”; 4 ¾” x 3 1/2"  
• White Baker’s Twine: 16”
• Blueberry Bushel: 5” x 3 ¾”, scrap

Instructions:

1. Fold Balmy Blue card base in half. Use bone folder to flatten card base. Adhere
   4”x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White to inside of card.
2. To create plaid background, use grid paper to assist. Ink up the Sketched Plaid stamp with Blueberry Bushel ink and stamp image on grid paper, lining up the image with grid lines.  Place smaller piece of Balmy Blue on the grid paper stamped image (close to the upper left). Use a pencil to note the placement of the 4 edges on the grid paper.  Reink the Sketched Plaid stamp with Blueberry Bushel using the image on the grid paper as a guide and stamp plaid image on the Balmy Blue piece.  Move the Balmy Blue piece to the right 5/8” and down 5/8” (line up plaid lines as desired).  Clean ink from stamp and reink with White craft ink. Stamp the inked image over the original image on the grid paper. Slight variation will not detract from the overall artwork.
3. Die cut “Happy Birthday” from a scrap of Basic White card stock and the backing shape from Blueberry Bushel using the dies from the Wanted to Say die set. Adhere the words to the Blueberry Bushel layer.  Die cut a stitched rectangle from the remaining Basic White card stock and adhere to the center of the plaid rectangle.  Adhere this piece to the Blueberry Bushel rectangle and then adhere this piece to the Balmy Blue card front.
4. Adhere the Happy Birthday piece to the stitched rectangle with dimensionals. Add 3 Blueberry Bushel gems to the card front.
5. Fold bakers twine in half and create a double bow. Adhere to the card front with a small dot of liquid glue.

These beautiful flowers have so many uses

Today I want to show you my April Bullet Journal layouts. This idea was so simple to create thanks to the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder:

 

Here's what I did. 

1. I used the folder to emboss a piece of Basic White. Then I colored the larger flowers using Daffodil Delight and a small blending brush. As you can see below I cut out each of the colored flowers.

Color your flowers as light or as dark as you want. 

Although it was not necessary I decided to die-cut some leaves using scraps of Soft Sea Foam and my Enduring Beauty dies:

Tip: use Adhesive Sheets for these tiny leave dies so make less of a mess when adhering them to your bullet journal pages!

Isn't it time for you to learn a new technique?

Hi fellow crafters! This week I have a fun technique to share so grab your ink pads and clear blocks and let’s create a colorful Mother’s Day card.

For my card image I will be using my Dainty Delight stamp set:

The line art images in the Dainty Delight set can be custom colored using your favorite Stampin’ Up! coloring technique or just leave it plain. 

You can stamp a single stem for a clean, minimalist look (what we will be doing), or mix and match the images for a lovely field of dainty flowers.

The phrase comes from the Perennial Postage stamp set - my card idea will be for Mother's Day, as I said, but you can change the phrase to suit any occasion you need. (This technique works for so many occasions)

This set is sentiment-only, making it perfect for all-occasion card making. Use one phrase on its own, or pair sentiments to customize your message. which is what I am going to do today.

Measurements: 

• Daffodil Delight: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”
• Crumb Cake: 2” x 4” (die cut)
• Basic White: 1/2” x 4” (banner)        2” x 3-1/2” (die-cut flowers)

Instructions:

1. Fold Daffodil Delight in half and emboss the card front. TIP: Make sure the folder is all the way to the crease. This will leave about 1” at the bottom that will not be embossed.
2. Stamp 'wagon' and 'handle' on Crumb Cake cardstock using Early Espresso ink.
   Die cut both pieces.
3. Stamp floral images on white cardstock using Granny Apple Green ink.
   Color flowers with Daffodil Delight Blends.
   Die cut image.
   Adhere to back of die-cut wagon using liquid glue or SEAL adhesive.
4. Stamp wheels on bottom of card front using Early Espresso ink.
5. Attach wagon/floral assembly to card front using dimensionals.
6. Adhere wagon handle to card front using liquid glue.
7. Stamp sentiment on white cardstock strip using Early Espresso ink.
   Cut ends of strip to create 'banner'.
   Attach to card front using mini dimensionals.

This has to be one of my fave challenges

I love a C.A.S.E the CATTY challenge, don't you? 

The reason why I love this is that I get to look through the catalog with fresh eyes, seeing card samples that I haven't really noticed but also I see samples in a new way, comparing them to the products I already own. 

I have really been into my Cheerful Daisies bundle lately and so thought I would use this bundle:

You need to try this cute treat holder idea

Hi fellow crafters! A couple of weeks ago Stampin’ Up! held their On Stage event - sort of like a crafting convention. I got this cool treat idea from another demonstrator and she also shared instructions on how to make it. So, shall we give it a try?

 

For my treat holder I am going to use the Notes of Nature collection.

 

The Stamp Set has images of leaves and teeny flowers, a page from a field journal, and images to add stamped texture. The dies include leaves and flowers, and you can use the long die—your cardstock will look like it was torn from a ring binder.

I am so sad that this collection is retiring at the end of April. Get it now if you love it as much as I do.

See how this embossing folder can make beautiful embellishments

In the past few months I have been using my Stampin' Up! products in my bullet journal and today I want to show you my April pages. With spring almost here I wanted to use flowers but with a softer look. 

I chose to use my Layered Florals embossing folder:

After I embossed  Basic White cardstock I decided to color the flowers using my Small Blending Brush and Daffodil Delight ink: 

I cut out all the colored flowers to use as embellishments on my April pages:

I also used my Enduring Beauty dies to create some Soft Sea Foam leaves:

After I created my journal weekly layouts for April, I used the small flowers on some pages and the larger flowers on other pages. I quite like how everything turned out:

I will say that it would have been better to use some of my Adhesive sheets rather than liquid glue to adhere the flowers because the glue seems to have wrinkled the paper a bit. Maybe over time it will flatten out. 

I look forward to each week's tasks when I have something so pretty to look at now!
