Today I am going to show you how to create a beautiful 'clean and simple' Color & Contour card idea, one that is stunning. You ready to learn how?

 

'Clean & Simple' is a technique that I don't use that often and I don't know why. All you need is a stamp set, ink and cardstock. If you love what you make the first time, you can easily make lots more and in a short period of time. 

I recommend the Color & Contour stamp set for getting creatively colorful. The open-line floral art and abstract filler stamps allows for a range of coloring techniques. Try freehand watercoloring for a modern look, or use ink and sponge daubers on the filler stamps to create an ombre floral effect! This set is also available in French.

Make your own singing songbird ensemble with the Sweet Songbirds bundle

Remember the struggle I had with last week's card map? Well, this week went so much better!

Everything fell into place so sweetly (pun intended). I started with a piece of the In Color designer series paper:

From there I had a look through my stamp sets and spotted Sweet Songbirds, which I haven't used in a while: 

You can make your own singing songbird ensemble with the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set! Stamp the images in different colors for a custom look—a light pink body, a darker pink wing, and yellow feet. Nestle your birds into the nest image or perch them on top of the branch. With multiple everyday sentiments, you're sure to use this cute stamp set all year long!

Or you can keep it super simple too, by stamping directly onto your card stock. To add a little pizzazz to my card I stamped the leaves twice, cut out one set and used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals for visual interest.

Did you know you don't need stamps to make a beautiful card?

Today I have a beautiful project idea for you to try. What makes this card unusual is that there is no stamping involved at all! Which means no ink either. 

 

This card idea is very adaptable too - you can change out the paper, embossing folder and colors to match your own unique style. Here are the basics for making this card: 

Paper and cutting dimensions:

    Soft Sea Foam [146988] - 5 ½ x 8 ½ (score on long side at 4 ¼), scrap for leaves
    Basic White [159276] 4 x 5 ¼
    Splendid Day DSP [159666] 1 ½ x 5 ¼ and 1 ½ x 2 ½ for “vase”
    Calypso Coral 122925] ½ x 5 ¼, scrap for leaves
    Sahara Sand [121043] scrap for leaves

Ink: None!

Stampin' Blends: Calypso Coral Dark [154881]

Misc: Paper Trimmer [152392]; Paper Snips [103579]; Multipurpose Glue [110755]; Mini Glue Dots [103683]; Bone Folder [102300]; Stampin' Seal [152813]; Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine [149653]; Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder [156505]; Rhinestone Basic Jewels [144220]; Linen Thread [104199]; Splendid Stems Dies [159676]

 

Instructions

1. Emboss white panel with Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and attach to Soft Sea Foam card base.

2. Adhere strip of Calypso Coral CS under the right edge of the DSP strip. Adhere to left side of Basic White panel leaving about 1/4” of white showing.

3. Cut one set of leaves each from Sahara Sand, Calypso Coral, and Soft Sea Foam scraps. Adhere these to the front of the card using glue.

4. Cut the half oval shape from the small piece of DSP. Wrap with linen thread, using glue dots to secure as needed, attaching thread ends to the back. Tie a small bow from linen thread and attach to the vase with a glue dot. Place vase over leaves stems on card using Dimensionals.

5. Color rhinestones with Dark Calypso Coral Blends and attach to card.

This easy watercolor card technique is a breeze to make

HI everyone, it's Watercolor month and so let's celebrate by creating a watercolor card today. I am going to show you what I think is one of the the easiest watercoloring techniques. I will be using my Happiness Abounds stamp set and Amazing Thanks dies to create a colorful thank you card. I'd love to show you this easy idea.

 

 

 

The Happiness Abounds set (15 photopolymer stamps) is perfect for making elegant cards. The set has all-occasion sentiments to celebrate those you love with greetings in various sizes and line-art floral images which are perfect for this watercoloring technique. As you can see in the photo above, the set has matching dies but I won't be using these on today's card. 

 

 

 

Essential for watercoloring techniques is our Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. This is a thick paper designed especially for watercoloring. Cold-pressed, archival cotton paper. Natural white color with subtle texture. You get 10 5" x 7" sheets in a pack.

So simple but so pretty. Here's how to make it at home:

Supplies:

• Card Stock – Pear Pizzazz (131201); Basic White (159276)
• Misc. – Wonderful World 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (159918); Stylish Shapes Dies (158800): Stitched Greenery (155451); Elegant Faceted Gems (152464); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

Measurements: 

• Basic White: 5 ½” x 8 ½”; 3” x 4 ¼”
• Pear Pizzazz: 1-1/4” x 4"; ½” x 4”
• Wonderful World Designer Series Paper (DSP): ¾” x 4"

Instructions:

1. Die cut the Pear Pizzazz cardstock strips with the Stitched Greenery Die. This will add stitched leaf images all over the strips of cardstock.
2. Using the second up from smallest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies (if the smallest circle is #1, this circle is #2) - die cut the small flower from the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper. Select a flower that coordinates with the colors on the strip of DSP.
3. Adhere the Pear Pizzazz pieces to the 3” x 4-1/4” piece of Basic White. Leaving the same amount of space at the top, bottom, and side.
4. Adhere the DSP piece centered between the two pieces of Pear Pizzazz. (It is easier to get all three strips evenly spaced if you start with the two outside pieces first).
5. Place 5 Dimensionals on the back of the 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White.
   Adhere to the folded card base.
   Place a Dimensional on the back of the die cut circle with the small flower. Adhere to the card front.
6. Place three clear Elegant Faceted Gems around the circle with the flower.

Today I am going to show you a very simple card idea - one that looks more complicated than it actually is, thanks to the He's the Man Specialty Designer Series paper: 

 

 

Create cards and other projects for the people in your life with the He's the Man 12" x 12" (30.5 x 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Paper. Measurements:  

• Sahara Sand: 8 ½” x 5 ½”
• He’s the Man: (2) 1 ¾” x 4 ¼”; 3” x 4”; 2” x 3 ½”

Instructions:

1. Fold Sahara Sand card stock in half and crease to create card base.
2. Ink circle image using Sahara Sand ink. Stamp off (onto scrap paper), then onto the card base several times.
3. Adhere ‘Adventure’ element to He’s the Man strip.
4. Adhere He’s the man (BBQ paper) strip to side left of card front. Adhere 2 He’s the Man strips (Cajun Craze stripes) to top and bottom of card front, overlapping BBQ strip.
5. Die-cut He’s the Man rectangle and adhere to card front.
6. Attach BBQ element to rectangle using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7. Add Rustic Dots to complete.

How can a simple card map challenge stump me so badly?

Maybe it's the heat. Maybe it's the 30 hour training I just finished. Maybe...it's too simple? 

 

Who knows. But this map sat there looking at me for hours. Waiting for inspiration to hit me. Which it finally did but only after I rooted around in my stamping supplies for a very long time.

And then I saw my Hues of Happiness product suite - well, bits and pieces of what was left. 

So I decided to go with that, especially since I love that funky die in the Blossoming Happiness dies and wanted to try it on a layer. 

Here's my card.

The perfect product collection for when you are in a crafting rush

Does it seem like you are always rushing around, trying to make a card at the last moment? Yep, me too. And this week was no exception. I realized tonight that our weekly Paper Craft Crew card map challenge was posted and I forgot to make a card to post early tomorrow.

And when I saw this challenge I was completely stumped. I have no stamp sets with food or drink. It's just not my thing, even though I do see lots of cute samples online using these kinds of sets.

So, as usual, I was rushing around trying to figure out what to do. And then I remembered the He's the Man Collection!
