Remember the buckle card technique? It's easy to recreate with one simple product

Do you remember the buckle card fun fold? It was super popular a few years ago thanks to the Word Window punch. But when that punch retired, it was nearly impossible to create a buckle card. Well, not anymore! I am going to show you how to recreate the buckle card fun fold using the Sending dies and the Hues of Happiness product suite. 

The entire Hues of Happiness suite bundle was on my Annual Catalog pre-order because I love how everything coordinates beautifully. There are 15 stamps in the set (loving that font!), and 11 dies in the pack. And the paper - wow! I love the bright colors and patterns and am having so much fun using this paper as layers on my cards.

 

To create the buckle for my card, I used the Sending dies, which are part of the Sending Smiles bundle: 

The Sending Dies are perfect for any occasion. This die pack includes a large text die and shadow die of the word “Sending”, AND includes two different sized label dies.We are going to use one of them for today's fun fold.

Supplies:

Stamp set: Happiness Abounds (product suite: 158828)

Ink: Coastal Cabana

Paper and cutting dimensions:

• Coastal Cabana: 4 1/4" x 8 5/8”, score at 3 1/8”; 3 6/8" square

• Hues of Happiness: 2 7/8” x 4”; pattern one: 4” x 5 1/4"; pattern two: 5 1/4" x 4"

• Basic White: 7" x 3 1/2"

Hi Joanne, If you still have the Word Window punch you can do this technique. You may have to punch twice to extend the length of the opening or you can make a narrower buckle. Your choice!

What a beautiful card! I have the old Word Window punch and have never tried making a buckle card; but I should!
