Do you know the altered masking technique? It's a beauty
I am sure you have seen the Butterflies & Masks Layering Decorative Masks and you may have used them to create lovely masked layers or backgrounds on your cards. But have you tried the Altered Masking Technique? I'd love to show you how!
In case you haven't seen this set of masks yet, let's have a look:
These stencils are an easy way to blend colors on your cards and other paper crafting projects to create textured and colored backgrounds. You can use the background masks on their own, but your images will really pop when you layer the detailed masks over the backgrounds to get even more depth and dimension. Use with Classic Stampin' Ink and coloring tools such as Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers for beautiful color. You can also use them with Embossing Paste and Palette Knives for textured designs.
* 6 masks: 1 each of 6 designs * 3 background designs, 1 layered butterfly design, and 2 layered flower designs * 4-1/2" x 6" (11.4 x 15.2 cm)
Here's my card - yes, it looks a bit blurry at the top: that's the altered technique result!
Here's what you need to make this card at home. Keep in mind that some of these products are retiring so order them at my online store (link on the right side of my blog) before they are gone for good.

Oh that is such a beautiful card! I have a few of these masks (a different sent but similar)- and they have been in package since I bought them nearly a year ago. I had forgotten what I wanted to make with them and then couldn't even remember HOW to use them so thank you so much for this. I am definitely going to have to go play around with them later! Pinned.

I really like this technique. I've done a little bit of it but want to study your video so I can do it better.
