It's time to say Goodbye to five beautiful colors! The 2020-2022 Retiring In Colors will soon be just a memory. I will miss all these colors, but especially Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee.
Now's the time
If you love any of these colors, now is the time to stock up! They won't be around for long, and I expect these to sell out quickly. If you have the ink pads, BE SURE to get the refills, and your pads will last practically forever.
Products with Retiring In Colors
There are so many coordinating products that go along with these lovely In Colors:
And don't forget accessories!
Now is the time to stock up and have coordinating products for the rest of the year.
Oh this is a fun one this week! I look forward to the Paper Craft Crew challenges each week; they help me to rethink my crafting style and challenge me to use up my products in new and different ways.
There are so many possibilities, aren't there:
butterflies .... or not
4 different colors.... or not
Vellum phrase.... or not
horizontal layout .... or not
I dug around in my stash for a bit and then remembered that the Pierced Blooms dies are retiring when this catalog comes to an end. (sob) I LOVE this pack of dies and all the flowers it can make so I decided to use it for this week's challenge.
This set of dies was released with a stamp set but I never bought the stamps because this pack stands on its own. And I can use a phrase from my other stamp sets, which is what I did today.
I chose a phrase from the Tasteful Touches stamp set, also retiring (also sob).
I also did a little cheat; I used some leftover Simply Marbelous designer paper from Sale-a-bration last month and matched the colors for my flowers.
Here's my card:
Now it's your turn; see what you can create for this week's challenge, using what you have on hand. And if you want to see what the other Paper Craft Crew members made this week, click here to head over to the Paper Craft Crew site.
I absolutely love designing my own greeting cards with Stampin’ Up! products. But, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, many of the cards that I make are based on ideas and designs from other stampers that I really like. Basing a design on that of another designer is often called “CASE-ing.” CASE is an acronym for Copy And Share with Everyone. In this article, I’d like to share with you a third card that was CASEd from page 32 of the current January-June 2022 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog.
CASE-ing is different from copying everything about a card. In a CASE, we typically change some part of the design to make it our own. In the cards that I’m sharing today, I’ll demonstrate how one or more of the following was changed: Colors, Layout, Card Size, Technique.
Card 3: Change to Size and Layout
The original is in the upper right corner of page 32.
Once again, here is a card that’s different from my usual A2, 5-1/2” by 4-1/4” card. The original of this card is a 6” high by 4” wide card. My first instinct was just to change it to that A2 size. But I thought all those lovely die-cut leaves were going to look a bit squished. I liked them spread out a bit. So why not make a Slimline card?
This card is 8-1/2” high by 3-1/2” wide and will fit into Stampin’ Up!’s new Slimline Envelopes. I used some of the same die-cut elements as in the original card and added some that were new and some in new colors. With the length of the card extended, I moved the sentiment layer down to just below the middle of the card. Instead of using a snip of the ribbon, I die-cut two edge pieces above and below the sentiment. For a final touch, I added some of the Evening Evergreen twine from the new Fan Baker’s Twine, also in the new Mini Catalog.
The original card used accent pieces of DSP at the bottom. Instead of that, I used one of the texture dies from the Tropical Layers dies in the upper left and lower right corners of the card.
Try CASEing!
If you see a project that you like but you’d just like to change a bit, go for it! Your own creativity will shine in whatever changes you’d like to make.

Adhere the 4 X 5 ¼ Basic White CS to the inside of the card and attach the other Starfish using your adhesive.
Hello fellow crafters! Today I have another beautiful scenic card to demonstrate, one that has a corner tuck technique! I will be using my Tulip Fields Bundle and Flowering Fields designer series paper. I can't wait to show you this easy card idea!
The Tulip Fields stamp set includes flower field section stamps that, when placed side-by-side, can create colorful tulip fields from a tapering perspective. Pair these tulip fields with the windmill, clouds, or tree stamps found in this set to make a really fun field of tulips scene.
With the Windmill Fields Dies, you'll get everything you need to build a picturesque windmill scene, including a row of tulips, fences, a bicycle, pieces to create a layered windmill. And that's exactly what I am going to do on my corner tuck card.
And what more can I say about this paper, except that it will be retiring soon (sob).
In my video below, I demonstrate step-by-step how to make the layers for my card and how to create the cool corner tuck.
Here's my card:
Here's what you need to gather together to make my card at home:
SUPPLIES
Stamp set: Tulip Fields (bundle #157684); Color & Contour (154994)
Ink: Balmy Blue, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie
Paper & cutting dimensions: So Saffron: 8" x 4 1/4" Basic White: 4" x 3"; 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" Poppy Parade: 4 1/4" x 1" Pumpkin Pie: 4 1/4" x 1"; 4 1/4" x 3 1/4"; 2 1/2" square Flowering Fields: 2 1/4" x 4; 2 1/2" square
My neighbors must wonder about me at times. When Stampin' Up! publishes the list of retiring stamp sets and products you can hear the moans and 'OH NO!!s' coming from my apartment. It can be so heartbreaking to love a bundle to bits, and then see it on that dreaded list.
Tip: it's called a Last Chance list for a reason. Once these products are gone, even if the catalog has not yet retired, then you are out of luck.
Here's my "read 'em and weep" Top 5 (no particular order). Grab your tissues!
Sailing Home bundle - bye bye perfect masculine bundle - even for the non-sailor.
Poinsettia Petals - the perfect Christmas bundle, including phrases.
Tasteful Touches - oh the backgrounds I have created, plus I love funky!
Hammered Metal embossing folder - see above about funky.
Pierced Blooms dies - create the 2D perfect flowers in just seconds
Ok one more - this one sent the loudest OH NO throughout the entire building. Playful Alphabet Dies. I may never forgive Stampin' Up! for this one.
Yes, 'out with the old' means 'in with the new'. There is a new catalog coming and if you have placed an order with me in the past six months you will receive a paper copy from me in your mailbox in mid-April.
What a fun card map challenge for the week ahead. What makes it fun in my mind is that you have so many color possibilities!
My first thought was - easy, I will use up some scraps of leftover cardstock and this will be a breeze. But I have already shown you several ways to use up paper scraps, like this blog post here and this blog post here. So maybe it's time for a new way to show how to create a rainbow effect.
What popped to mind next was a different way, one that I had seen some other Stampin' Up! demonstrators create and share in our private Facebook group. I thought I would give it a try and share this technique with you too.
Here's what you need:
Sponge Daubers
This tool is essential for the technique I am going to show you. You use this product to daub touches of Classic Stampin’ Ink on stamps or directly on projects. They fit onto your finger for great control. 5 daubers in a pack for only $5 - that's a great deal! (tip: click on the sponge dauber photo to order a pack at my online store)
Next you need an image that you can apply the color onto, using your Sponge Daubers. I chose one of the images from the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set:
It's kinda funny that when I got this stamp set for free at a Stampin' Up! event I was completely underwhelmed. And now I use it all the time (hehe)!
I chose the largest image in this set and used the following colors and my sponge daubers to apply each color, starting from the top and working my way down.
Can you identify these colors? Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.
And here's my Amazing Silhouettes card:
Note: the phrase comes from the Art Gallery stamp set. You can never have too many birthday cards on the ready! And the background paper is from the Flowering Fields designer series paper pack.
Now it's your turn: try this Rainbow card map challenge and see what you can create. If you'd like to see what the other Paper Craft Crew members created for this week's challenge, click here. And why not share your card over there too? We'd love to see your ideas; we can learn from each other.
Today I want to share with you a second card that was CASE'd from page 32 of the January-June 2022 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog.
CASE-ing is different from copying everything about a card. In a CASE, we typically change some part of the design to make it our own. In the cards that I’m sharing today, I’ll demonstrate how one or more of the following was changed: Colors, Layout, Card Size, Technique.
Card 2: Change to Size and Technique
The original of this card is shown in the upper left corner of page 32.
The big difference with this card is that it is a Note Card size. It’s 3-1/2” high by 5” wide. I guessed it was that size by looking at the shape of the card – a bit longer than a 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” A2-sized card would be. I used a bit of my high school algebra and figured out the actual size.
So, the first thing I did was change the card to A2 size. But I left the sentiment layer and the ribbon at about the same size as in the original. I needed a bit more height on the center section, so I added a small strip of Mint Macaron cardstock under the ribbon.
As far as the technique goes, there is one technique that I kept the same. I really liked how the die-cut palm leaf leaned towards the right side of the card. But that die in the Tropical Layers Die points to the left. To get it to turn to the right, I simply cut from the back of the DSP sheet that had the Evening Evergreen monochrome print on it. Bingo – leans to the right!
The technique that I added was just something I wanted to try. I liked the Monstera Leaf where it was, but I wanted to see if I could stamp a border onto a Monstera Leaf that was printed on one of the DSP sheets. It worked! I die-cut it and added it just as in the original, which had a stamped and die-cut leaf.
Try CASEing!
If you see a project that you like but you’d just like to change a bit, go for it! Your own creativity will shine in whatever changes you’d like to make.
Hello fellow crafters! I have a beautiful scenic cards to demonstrate today, one that has a fun fold! I will be using my Tulip Fields bundle and Flowering Fields designer series paper. I can't wait to show you this easy card idea!
The Tulip Fields bundle includes the Tulip Fields Stamp Set and the Windmill Fields Dies. Create scenic cards with endless tulip fields and traditional windmills with this cute bundle. Die cut stamped images directly, or layer your die-cut pieces on top of stamped tulip fields for a dimensional look.
The stamp set includes flower field section stamps that, when placed side-by-side, can create colorful tulip fields from a tapering perspective. Pair these tulip fields with the windmill, clouds, or tree stamps found in this set to make this scene come to life!
Bonus tip: To make the floral field look as realistic as possible, make sure the tip of the triangles are stamped next to each other, making a fan-like shape. Stamp the horizon line (stamp) first across your card, then stamp the larger triangle with the tip in the center of the horizon line. Then, stamp the larger triangle two more times on either side of the center one with a small gap in between each stamp. And there you have an endless field of flowers!
With the Windmill Fields Dies, you'll get everything you need to build a picturesque windmill scene, including a row of tulips, fences, a bicycle, pieces to create a layered windmill, and more! These dies will work perfectly for a card front so you can send a little dreamy escape to all your friends.
I also featured the gorgeous Flowering Fields paper on my card - I am going to be so sad when this pack retires on 30 June (earlier if supplies run out). If you love this paper, I have another blog post and video you will want to check out!
To see how to create my Tulip Fields fun fold card, watch my video below and I will take you through step-by-step.
Here's what you need to make this card at home.
Supplies
Stamp sets: Tulip Fields bundle (157684); Color & Contour stamp set (154994)
Ink: Early Espresso; Rich Razzleberry
Paper and cutting dimensions:
Rich Razzleberry: 3 1/4" square
Basic White: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Early Espresso: 3" x 2 1/4"

This sweet Hello Ladybug gift bag couldn’t be easier! It’s made with just one-half of a sheet of 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper and then embellished however you like.
Basic Box
Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (“DSP”): 11-1/2” x 6”. With long edge lined up at top of scoring tool, score at 1/2”, 2”, 6” and 7-1/2”; turn so short edge lines up with top of scoring tool and score at 1-1/2” along long edge (see diagram)
Gift Bag Assembly
1. Cut and score DSP as shown in the diagram. Fold away from all score lines.
2. Use Tear ‘n Tape or other strong adhesive to attach outside of the 1/2" flap to the inside of the opposite end of DSP, forming a rectangular shape.
3. Stand rectangle on open end with Flaps A thru D facing up. Fold down Flaps A and C; apply adhesive to outside of both flaps and then fold Flap D down to cover the adhesive. It’s helpful at this point to flip the bag around so it’s standing upright and use the rounded end of a bone folder to rub across Flaps A and B, making sure they are securely attached to Flap D.
4. Flip the bag back around to the upside-down position and adhere Flap B over Flap D. That’s it! The basic gift bag is complete!
* Real Red card stock: 3-1/4” x 3-3/4”, plus scrap for ladybug wings
* White card stock: 2-3/4” x 3-1/4”

Adhere finished piece to front of bag with Stampin’ Dimensionals or Foam Tape.
The finishing touch is a red and white polka-dot napkin used in place of tissue paper. Your bag is now ready to insert a small gift for a special friend! (Finished measurements of gift bag are 4” wide x 4-1/2” tall x 1-1/2” deep.

Let me help take your crafting to a whole new level!
Me either! But rather than have these sheets hang about in our crafting room, sometimes it is a good idea to give them a try. Like on today's Paper Craft Crew card map challenge:
I chose a bright and bold pattern from the Symbols of Fortune designer series paper pack:
I love 99% of the designs in this pack but the on the bottom using Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen? Not my fave - I am not a bit fan of Calypso Coral I guess.
So I decided to challenge myself with this card map challenge! Here's what I created:
I kept it as a notecard rather than add a phrase to the front. That way I can tuck it away and pull it out when needed, add a phrase inside and mail it off to someone special.
Here a few tips for using large or bold designs:
use them as layers when you can add a large die-cut image on top (like I did)
add larger embellishments (like jewels, etc) so that the bold designs on the paper don't look even larger
use embellishments to pull the eye around the card, making less of a focus on the bold designs
use the designs to die-cut words (like on this card I created)
use the designs for boxes and bags - they are meant to be louder!

Today's project again uses one of my faves in the Mini Catalog: the Tulip Fields bundle:
Do you see all the intricate pieces in the set of dies? Lots of bits and pieces to poke out and you might be wondering: how do I adhere these die-cuts to my card? I have the perfect solution, the one product that will make your card making a breeze. Introducing Adhesive Sheets, such a simple product and so easy to use:
Easily adhere shapes you cut with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine or Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and dies - creating your own stickers in a way! You get 12 sheets in a pack, each sheet measures 6" x 12". Even better is that you can using your Paper Trimmer to create the perfect size to attached to the back of the cardstock you want to die-cut. Then die-cut, peel off the backing of the Adhesive Sheet and voila, a sticker to attach to your card!
Here's my card. I have noted underneath what I used in case you want to create this card at home. If you want to order the bundle, simply click on the photo above.

Today I am going to show you how to use two simple products to create a wow factor on all your cards. I will be using the Amazing Silhouettes bundle and Symbols of Fortune designer series paper to create my wow.
I love the nature inspired images in the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set.
You can create beautiful silhouettes in one simple step using one color to make a bold impression, which is what I am going to do today, OR you can use multiple colors for an ombre look. The Amazing Thanks simple words can be added to any image to create beautiful thank-you cards and other projects. I am going to use the 'Amazing' and 'You' dies for my card.
If you love the Symbols of Fortune paper as much as I do, check out this video where I show you how to create 3 different cards using a 1/2 sheet of one of these beautiful designs.
Now for the two products that will help you create a wow factor:
1. Foam Adhesive Sheets
These double-sided adhesive foam sheets can be cut with Paper Snips or open dies to fit any project. You get 6 sheets in a pack, each measures 4-1/2" x 4-5/16" (11 x 11.4 cm).
2. Blending Brushes
This is my favorite coloring tool! You can add ink as light or as dark as you want and even try layering colors to make an ombre effect (like in the photo). You get three blending brushes in a single pack, which makes it easy for using different colors of ink on your projects.
Here's the card I created using these two simple products - don't miss my video tutorial below!
Here's what you need to make my card.
