See how to take a 1/2 sheet of designer paper and create 3 beautiful cards

I have found that I often purchase designer series paper packs and then months later I have several sheets left and not many ideas on how to use them up. Is this you too? 

 

Did you know that you can take a half sheet of 12x12 designer series paper and create three beautiful cards? Today I am going to show you how to do that using the Symbols of Fortune designer series paper:

 

If you know me at all,  you will know that I love all things Asian. When I saw the Symbols of Fortune collection in the Mini Catalog, I had to have it. 

I love the soft, soothing colors and patterns on one side of the paper and the lovely gray tones with pops of gold foil on the reverse. The design colors are: Basic Black, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Evening Evergreen, Smoky Slate, Soft Succulent.

 

The paper pairs is a perfect match with the Crane of Fortune bundle which I will also be using.

This tic tac toe card challenge can provide hours of crafting fun

This week's Paper Craft Crew card map challenge is a fun Tic-Tac-Toe board! 

 

I struggled a bit with my design, however. I decided right away that I wanted to use Animals but I have enough thank you cards so that left Patterned Paper and Blending. And I wasn't so keen on either. But...

I know that Sale-a-bration is ending next week so I decided to use, once again, the Simply Marbelous paper pack for my patterned paper. (see yesterday's blog post for another idea!)

So. That left one choice left on my Tic-Tac-Toe board. Blending. So I grabbed my Stampin' Blends and colored up a storm on the Otter image. Add a phrase and a bit of bling and I am very happy with my card:

Here's a fun way to combine sale-a-bration with this fabulous new product collection

I just love the products in this year’s first Sale-a-bration brochure. Today's card uses two of my favorites – Awesome Otters and Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper. To really show off both of these, I used one of the dies from the Picture This die set from Stampin’ Up’s Annual Catalog and the set of Stampin’ Blends that are new this month!

Catalogs and Brochures Have Some Great Ideas!

The two Sale-a-bration products that I used for this card are pictured in the centerfold of the new Sale-a-bration brochure. If you look at those two pages, you’ll see a card that was made using the Picture This circle die. I just thought that was a fun idea, so I CASEd the idea and made my own card.

For my card, I used all three of the cute little otters in the stamp set. I also needed a birthday card this week and was so very pleased to see that this stamp set has some birthday-themed stamps, too. Perfect!

New ‘Natural Tones’ Stampin’ Blends Aren’t Just for Skin Tones

This month sees a new collection of Stampin’ Up! products, many of which will be featured in the 2022 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Today I’m showing off a few of the new Stampin’ Blends that are called, ‘Natural Tones.’ The idea is that these Blends can be used to create the perfect skin tone for all the wonderful stamps that feature people in them, like the new In The Moment Stamp Set. But that’s not just all that they’re for! Look at how nicely they blend to color in these fun little otters.

The new Blends do not have color names but have numbers. For the otters, I used SU600 for the base color, then used SU 300 around the edges of the critters, blending them back in with the SU600. For the tummies I used SU700 and blended that in with the SU600.

There are 5 sets of the new Stampin’ Blends. I have a brochure that has specific information about the Blends as well as the other products that are in the new ‘All Together’ collection of products. Click here to see this new Collection!

This set of USPS stamps is oh so cute and so perfect to go with the Stampin’ Up! otters! The stamps were released earlier in the winter. Add an otter stamp onto your envelope and you’re sending the cutest card ever!

See how to add a touch of gentle elegance with beautiful soft spring blooms

Today I am going to be using the Tasteful Touches stamp set to create a fun fold card. I will also be using the Daffodil Afternoon designer series paper, which you can earn for FREE. I will tell you more about that in a bit. 

 

For my phrase I chose a set that I haven't used in a while: Tasteful Touches. This set is perfect for creating projects with the versatile textures and all season sentiments. 

 

I think that my card is gorgeous because of the patterns and colors in the Daffodil Afternoon paper pack. You can add a touch of gentle elegance to your projects thanks to the soft spring blooms of daisies, poppies, and daffodils. The paper patterns includes a mix of larger blooms and greenery that can be fussy-cut to create paper elements and repeating patterns for card fronts or layers. And I love the jewel tone colors of the paper.

Did you know that in folklore ladybugs are a sign of good luck?

When a ladybug lands on you, luck is coming your way! Another fact about ladybugs – the little beetles come in a variety of colors, not just red. Ladybugs can be orange, pink, yellow, white, and even black. Though I have only seen red ladybugs, knowing there are colorful varieties in nature made it fun when creating today’s card project. Of course, the great thing is you can select your favorite colors and create your own unique ladybugs!

Today’s project features the Hello Ladybug Bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalog. The bundle includes the Hello Ladybug Photopolymer Stamp Set and a coordinating Ladybug Builder Punch. The punch enables you to quickly create projects.

 

Supplies:

· Hello Ladybug Bundle (#157699)

· Real Red Cardstock (#102482): base 4-1/4” x 11”, score at 4-1/4” and 5-1/2”; strip 7/8” x 3-3/4”

· Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (#155426): 4” x 4” (Host Offering)

· Basic White Cardstock (#159276): 3-3/4” x 3-3/4”; ¾” x 3-3/4” for sentiment plus scrap pieces for stamping ladybug wings and small ladybug

· Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (#132708)

Instructions:

1. Create a book fold card base by folding along score lines on the card base. Use adhesive to seal the panel between the 4-1/4” score and the 5-1/2” score.

2. Add designer series paper panel to the card front panel.

3. Using Balmy Blue Classic Stampin’ Pad, randomly stamp flowers onto the Basic White cardstock 3-3/4” square panel. NOTE: Stamp off once onto a scrap paper and then stamp two times onto the Basic White before reinking the stamp.

4. Randomly stamp the large ladybug body onto the card using black ink. Attach to the card.

5. Stamp the wings and cut using the coordinating Ladybug Builder punch. Attach wings to the ladybugs on the card front.

6. Select sentiment and stamp onto strip of Basic White cardstock. Attach to the Real Red cardstock strip and then to the card front (refer to photo for placement).

7. Next, stamp the small ladybug and “fussy cut”. Add to the sentiment panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

8. Finish by embellishing with ribbon along the side of the left panel and adding Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

This is the perfect way to use up all those left over paper scraps

Today's card map challenge!

The moment I saw it I got excited because it would use up some paper scraps and I knew that I wanted to use designer series paper instead of solid colors (which would also be cool). 

I have a LOT of the All Together designer series paper and chose several patterns for my paper strips:

This paper pack showcases hand outlines that are actually the hands of our designers and represent coming together. The black and white paper feature bold, graphic designs that will complement any project - and that's what I chose to use on my challenge card. 

Originally I was going to use a plain Basic White card base but at the last minute I decided to emboss it using the Tasteful Texture embossing folder. Then I die-cut the 'you' in Basic White and Real Red to make a stand-out phrase that just makes you want to look inside the card. The 'you' die comes from the Here for You dies, which are part of this fabulous All Together collection:

Learn how to make this fun window card which has a surprise inside

Hi fellow crafters! Today I am going to be using the super cute Happy Hedgehogs stamp set to create a window card - one that has a surprise element inside. I will also be using the Daffodil Afternoon designer series paper, which you can earn for FREE. You ready to get started?

 

The Happy Hedgehogs stamp set has adorable hedgehogs, flowers, butterflies, forest mushrooms, and bird. The sentiments are perfect to thank someone for their kindness and friendship. You have the option to bundle the set with the Hedgehog punch for added convenience:

 

 

The Daffodil Afternoon patterns show soft spring blooms of daisies, poppies, and daffodils. • Stamp Pads – none
• Misc. – Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (150673); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755); Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108); All Together Designer Series Paper (160039); Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108)

Measurements:  

• Poppy Parade: 8 ½” x 5 ½”                3 ½” x ¾”       (2) ¾” squares          scraps
• All Together: 4: x 5 ¼”
• Basic Black: 4” x 1”
• Basic White: 4” x 1 ¼”                    (2) 1” squares                                  

Instructions:

1. Fold Poppy Parade card stock in half and score to create card base.
2. Adhere All Together layer to card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
3. Die-cut row of hearts from Poppy Parade strip. Adhere to Basic Black strip and then to Whisper White strip.
4. Die-cut two Poppy Parade banners. Adhere to back of Basic White layer, making one banner shorter than the other.
5. Attach Basic White layer to card front.
6. Re-insert die-cut hearts back into heart strip using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7. Cut Poppy Parade squares and Basic White squares in half diagonally. Layer and adhere to All Together layer, one in each corner.

This fun set is timeless, nostalgic and just plain cute

You don't have to be an expert on cars to love the versatile images and phrases in the Driving By stamp set that can turn your project into a celebration of friendship, and a message that's timeless.

The Driving By stamp set brings back so many fun memories for me. I grew up in the age of the VW - everyone cool seemed to have one, whether it was the Bug, or Beetle, or the Shaggin' Wagon van. And this coolness has not changed. Before Covid Times one of the beaches in my area used to hold an Aircooled Scheveningen beach event. Hundred of Beetles and VW vans are parked on the boulevard. Nearly all the VW Bug types ever built can be seen, such as Baja Bug, California Look, Oval, Cabriolets, Rat Look, Custom Built, Campers and Pick-ups. Unique models, such as a fire engine and an ambulance, are there on display. I happened to wander to the beach a few years ago and caught this event - it was so much fun!

So when I saw that the Driving By stamp set was FREE with a $50 order (€60 in the NL), I had to have it. And for today's card and video tutorial, I am going to show you how to take one of the concept artists cards in the Sale-a-bration Catalog and add your own lil twist. 

First, let's look at the catalog sample:

See the card with the beetle? That's the one I am going to CASE with a twist.

The first twist I decided was to change the color of the card base. Misty Moonlight is going to retire soon which makes me sad so I decided to use this color for my base and layer. 

The next twist was the embossing folder. I decided to use the new Gingham folder as I really like the vibe it gives (tip - click on the folder image below to order it at my online store):
