Today's card features a new product in the Jan-June Mini Catalog: Butterflies & Flowers Decorative Masks:
You can create textured and colored backgrounds with these Decorative Masks. The stencils are an easy way to blend colors on your cards and other paper crafting projects. You can use the background masks on their own. But your images will really pop when you layer the detailed masks over the backgrounds to get even more depth and dimension. Use with classic ink and coloring tools such as Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers for beautiful color. You can also use them with Embossing Paste and Palette Knives for textured designs.
Here's one card idea showing you how to create beautiful card images:
Supplies:
- Stamp Sets – Happy & Heartfelt (158005)
- Card Stock — Highland Heather (146986), Gorgeous Grape (146987), Basic White (159276)
- Stamp Pads – Gorgeous Grape (147099), Granny Apple Green (147095)
- Misc. – Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks (158142), Brushed Brass Butterflies (158136), Blending Brushes (153611), Versamark Pad (102283), Stampin’ Emboss Powders, Metallics (155555), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Heat Tool (129053)
- NON STAMPIN’ UP: Post It Notes for covering the Decorative Masks where needed.
Measurements
- Gorgeous Grape: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”
- Highland Heather: 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
- Basic White: 3 3/4” x 5”, 4” x 5 1/4” (for inside panel)
Instructions
- Score the Gorgeous Grape card base at 4 1/4” for a landscape card. Add the larger Basic White panel to the inside.
- Position the delicate side of the floral mask piece on the smaller Basic White panel on the lower left side. Use Post It Notes where needed to protect the rest of the card panel.
- Use a Blending Brush to add Gorgeous Grape ink to the card.
- Flip to the thicker part of the Decorative Mask and align the small circles in the three flowers making sure no white shows. Place Post It Notes where needed. Use the same Blending Brush to add more Gorgeous Grape ink to the card.
- Stamp a sentiment on the right side of the card with Versamark Ink and cover it with Gold Embossing Powder. Heat with the Heat Tool.
- Add three of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to the card,
- Adhere the Basic White panel to the Highland Heather panel with the liquid glue; add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the panel and add to the card front.
