There are so many fun possibilities with this simple card map challenge

Today's Paper Craft Crew card map challenge is super fun! There are so many possibilities to use:

 

I knew right away what I was going to use too. On my daily walks I have been encountering many different flowers along my way, and on one particular walk I spotted these beauties blowing in the wind: 

I know these are not daisies but right away I thought of my daisy punch. And when I had a look at my card map challenge for the week I immediately thought: not butterflies. I can try daisies! 

So I grabbed my two Daisy punches and got right to work. I pushed six daisies - 4 small ones and 2 large ones and then used my Blending Brushes and Fresh Freesia ink pad to add color:

I  am telling you - if you have not used these brushes before then you are seriously missing out! Blend ink beautifully using our FAB Blending Brushes. Apply extremely light shades of ink or create soft gradient backgrounds with no lines. Or use them with Decorative Masks or stencils. The velvety soft bristles blend ink perfectly.

In mere seconds I had all daisies colored, attached together and ready for my card front. At that point I decided to use my Timeworn Type embossing folder to emboss the layer for my card. 

I love love love the look that this folder creates. Once I embossed my Fresh Freesia layer and added my daisies then I popped on a stamped and die-cut phrase and 6 lovely In Color Jewels.

Today is World Card Making Day - drop everything and craft!

And so of course I need to show you a card idea that you can try, right! How about a card idea using the Delivering Cheer stamp set - so fun and so versatile, especially if you LOVE to color! 

 

Do you need to make a special delivery? Use the Delivering Cheer stamp set to turn any gift into instant cheer. Mix and match the enchanting line-art images to create a look that's perfect from (covered) head to toe. Use your favorite coloring techniques to customize the images for any season or occasion, though of course it's ideal for the holiday season. 

Here's my idea to share with you on this special day! 

Here's what you need to gather to make this card today:

Supplies:

Measurements:  

• Pool Party Card Stock:             8 1/2” x 5 1/2”
• Petal Pink Card Stock:             4” x 5 1/4”
• Flirty Flamingo Card Stock:      2 3/8” x 4 3/8”
• Basic White Card Stock:          2 1/4” x 4 1/4” (image)         2 1/2” x 1 1/2” (greeting)
• Pattern Party DSP:                   4” x 2” (dotted strip)             2” x 2” (floral skirt)
• Blushing Bride Frayed Ribbon: 4”

Instructions:

1. Fold the Pool Party piece in half (fold on the left) to form the card base. Emboss the Petal Pink piece with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Attach the dotted DSP piece across the top part of the embossed piece. Then, attach it all to the center of the card front.
2. Stamp the skirt bottom stamp onto the bottom of the Basic White image piece using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Stamp the present top stamp on top of the skirt. Color her legs and arms with the Ivory Stampin’ Blend. Color her shoes with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend. Color the presents with the other Stampin’ Blends listed above. Attach the piece to the center of the Flirty Flamingo piece, and then attach it to the bottom, right side of the card.
3. Ink of the skirt part of the skirt bottom stamp with Tuxedo Black ink, and stamp the skirt onto the floral skirt DSP piece. Fussy cut the skirt out with Paper Snips. On the back of the skirt, put adhesive along the top of the skirt, and then put two Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the bottom corners of the skirt. This will make the skirt flare out like a real skirt. Attach the DSP skirt over the stamped skirt.
4. Ink up the “Happy Birthday” part of the Many Messages stamp with Poppy Parade ink. Stamp it onto the Basic White greeting piece. Die-cut it out with the desired label in the Messages Die. Attach it to the bottom, left of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
5. Tie the Blushing Bride Frayed Ribbon piece into a single knot and attach it across the lady’s waist using a Mini Glue Dot. Trim the ribbon ends at an angle.

 

 

How to create a pocket gift card holder, where the gift card is a surprise inside

Hi fellow crafters! In today's video I am going to show you how to create a super easy pocket gift card holders. There are many different types of pocket gift card holder - this one keeps the gift card a surprise for inside.  

I will be using my Quiet Meadow bundle, both the stamp set and the dies this time.

You will find flowers, background patterns, and greetings in the stamp set which you can pair with the beautiful wildflower dies. It is so much fun to mix and match the different pieces to get the right look.

 

Surprisingly, I am also using the Tidings of Christmas paper.

 

 

Yes, it is seasonal on one side but the other side can be used for non-Christmas projects as you will soon see.

The pocket is surprisingly deep so items other than gift cards will fit very nicely.

I am so excited that I can finally travel again. I don't know if you know this but 18 months ago I used to travel for work - a lot. I have seen so many countries in the past 7 years - my faves being Singapore, Cambodia and Japan. I am not quite ready to travel long distances again but as the Schengen region is opening up slowly I am going to have a much needed very short trip. 

Let's have some fun. Here are the Schengen countries:

Not all Schengen countries are part of the EU, did you know that?

So far my travels have taken me to 21 of these countries - pretty impressive huh. But there are a few that I still haven't visited and so in the next year I will carefully do so, always keeping my health and the health of others in mind. And of course following the agreements in the Schengen region for traveling in and out of these countries. 

Here's where I am headed next. Can you guess where this beautiful spot is?
