Classic Stampin’ Pads come in exclusive Stampin' Up! colors, grouped in collections to take the guesswork out of color coordination.
Classic Stampin’ Pads come in exclusive Stampin' Up! colors, grouped in collections to take the guesswork out of color coordination. Each ink pad has a set of color stickers on the back of the case. These are for labeling the outside and inside of the case. The new cases have an inset slot inside the ink pad that is perfect for placing the label inside the case, which makes it easier to identify which ink pad you are using.
So let's look at the ink pad color collections that Stampin' Up! offers. There are four permanent collections, 10 ink pads in each.
Note: for your shopping convenience I have linked each color collection to my online store, just in case you decide you want to purchase one or more of these collections. All you have to do is click on the photo.
And in addition, we have two In Color collections that are available for two years only, with 5 ink pads in each collection. These sets are temporary which helps Stampin' Up! (and us!) remain current with changing fashion and design colors.

Many of Stampin' Up!s other products come in the same exclusive colors, so it’s easy to pair stamp pads with cardstock, markers, embellishments, and more!
Our Classic Stampin’ Pads contain a fast drying, dye-based ink that is great for general stamping or for coloring techniques like watercoloring. The innovative ink pad design has a patented flip-top lid to keep the stamp pad inked during storage. The firm foam pads outlast felt pads and give you a superior stamping experience.
How to care for your ink pads:
1. Keep the ink pad case clean
Stampin’ UP! color line ink pads are dye-based and are therefore very easy to clean. To clean the case, use a damp paper towel or non-alcohol baby wipe to clean the cases. You can also clean the case edge next to the ink pad with a moist cotton swab.
2. How to clean foreign material on the pad (if needed)
Yes, this happens! Bits of paper, ribbon, embossing powder or glitter can land on an open ink pad. Use a piece of transparent tape and lay it gently across the impacted surface. Gently pull up the tape and throw it away. This method works for removing any foreign object from the ink pad. Avoid using tweezers or your fingernail as this can damage the foam surface permanently which will create issues when inking your stamps.
3. What to do if you accidentally mix colors (eek!)
Use a damp (not wet) paper towel and blot off the wrong color. You may need to reink the pad using the correct color. Tip: when purchasing a single ink pad or collection, purchase the reinker collection at the same time!
I would love to know which Color Collection is your fave: Brights, Neutrals, Regals or Subtles. Leave me a comment under this post to let me know.
