See how to add a touch of sparkle to your cards

Today's card introduces a brand new bundle from the Jan-June Mini Catalog, called Dragonfly Garden. This bundle (with a dragonfly punch!) is part of a much larger suite: Dandy Garden (pages 24 - 27).

If you don't have your catalog yet, keep watching your mailbox. It should arrive any day now - for those of you who placed an order with me in the past six months, that is. The rest of you will have to wait until it goes live on 5 January; then you will be able to download a copy to your device!

I predict that this bundle will be a HUGE hit when the catalog goes live on 5 January. And to get you all excited here's one fun card idea - easy but beautiful!

Measurements: 

• Seaside Spray: 5 ½” x 8 ½” (scored at 4 ¼”)
• Basic Black: 5 ¼” x 4”
• Whisper White: 5” x 3 ¾” (2 pieces)
• Whisper White: 2 ½” x ¾”

Instructions:

1. Fold the Seaside Spray cardstock in half on the scored line.  
2. Attach the Basic Black cardstock to the front panel of the card.
3. On one of the pieces of Whisper White, stamp the more filled in dragonfly image 3 times with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, as shown.
4. Sponge the edge of this piece of Whisper White with Seaside Spray ink.
5. Attach this stamped and sponged white cardstock to the front of the card.
6. On the other piece of Whisper White, stamp the same dragonfly image 3 times (leaving enough room to punch it out) with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
7. Stamp the saying with Misty Moonlight ink on the small piece of Whisper White.
8. Punch both ends of the saying with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.
9. Sponge the edges of the saying using Seaside Spray ink.
10. Colour in the dragonfly images using the Blends markers.
11. Punch out the dragonfly images using the Dragonflies Punch.
12. Attach the butterflies, using dimensionals to the front of the card, over top of the stamped images. Only put dimensionals near the centre of the dragonfly so that you can slightly bend up the edges of the wings after you have attached them to the front of the card.
13. Attach the saying to the front of the card with dimensionals.
14. Add Wink of Stella to the dragonfly’s wings.

What would you choose for this challenge?

Oooh, here's a fun card map challenge - what would you choose?

Tough right? I had sooo many favorite holiday sets to choose from that I stood in front of my stamping closet and debated for a long while. 

And then made a decision to use, once again, the Christmas Gleaming bundle. Can you tell that I am going through withdrawal already? (smiles) In case you didn't know the entire bundle is retiring on 3 January or earlier if supplies run out. Groan. 

I love this simplicity of this bundle - how easy it is to make cards using it, the gorgeous paper designs and the delicate images in the stamp set. This bundle is the real deal! 

So I used all the parts of this bundle to make my card:

Alright a bit of an extra cheat. I also used the Coming Home stamp set for the small image with the stars - a perfect compliment to the paper, don't you think?

It's time to say a sad farewell to this

The Christmas Gleaming bundle has been one of my favorites ever - and I was so excited to see it come back this year. But, sadly, it is now on the retiring list which means that it will be gone forever as of 3 January - sooner if stock runs out. 

 

I know it has been a favorite of yours too so, today's card is my way to say a sad farewell. With a beautiful and easy card. 

I combined the paper, stamp set and the Best Plaid Builders dies to make this gorgeous card. True confession: when I bought the Best Plaid Builders dies they sat there gathering dust until I saw a card that inspired me. Now I love to craft with them!

• Night of Navy cardstock         5” x 5.5”       5 3/4" x 4 1/2"

Instructions:

1. Score and fold Night of Navy cardstock.
2. Die-cut Night of Navy and Brightly Gleaming layers using Best Plaid Builders dies.
3. Ink ornament and stamp onto Whisper White, using Night of Navy ink. Punch.
4. Ink phrase using Night of Navy ink and stamp onto Whisper White strip.
5. Ink length of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding using Night of Navy ink. When dry, create bow.
6. Adhere Best Plaid Builders layers to card front using Multi-purpose Liquid Glue. Attach phrase layer.

Attach ornament using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add bow using Mini Glue Dot.

 

 

Make the perfect little gift bag for many fun occasions

Today I have a super cute treat holder idea. It's a mini treat bag that I created using my Poinsettia Petals stamp set and the Stitched Nested Labels dies. My treat holder is Christmas themed but once you know how to make these treat holders you can have lots of fun using up leftover pieces of designer paper. 

As I said my treat holder uses the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. I am thrilled that this set and the matching dies are not retiring when the catalog retires on 3 January. But in next year's catalog they will be sold separately so if you want to save $$, now is the time to purchase it:

I also used the Brightly Gleaming designer paper - sadly this paper is retiring and is only available as supplies last (until 3 January). Sigh.

This week I have been itching to play with a new stamp set that will be available to you in January. So when I saw this week's card map challenge, I thought it would be fun to combine the old with the new.

So playful, right?

The Delightful Donkey set will be available for FREE in January and February 2021, with a $50 (or €60) order at my online store. I had a chance to earn it for free too, with my new catalog pre-order. Now back to my card. I decided that if Delightful Donkeys was the 'new' on my card that I would then use some of my Poinsettia Place paper for the 'old'. 

I stamped and colored the donkey with my Stampin' Blends and then layered it onto a piece of Old Olive. The rest is easy to figure out.

How to preserve your fun winter memories

As you know, Stampin' Up! has announced which products are retiring forever from the Aug-Dec Mini catalog. It wasn't much of a surprise to hear that the Trimming the Town suite was on that list:

Every single product is retiring so I knew that this week I wanted to create one last project idea as a happy farewell. With Christmas around the corner I decided to make a memory page and to share this idea with you.

The first thing I did was die-cut the houses and trees from my left-over scraps. Next I decided to use another scrap of the Trimming the Town paper as my title - what fun is that to see all those different languages:

I love the colors in this paper pack, they are so bright and happy! I decided to stamp two light posts and color them using my Mango Melody Stampin' Blends. And after my page was almost done I chose to stamp some Pool Party snowflakes (from the Coming Home set) to add a bit more visual interest. 

And here is my page. I can't wait to add my photos and journaling!
