I have a lovely Stampin' Up! team of demonstrators - some have been with me for over 15 years now. Whenever someone new joins my team I like to send them a welcome card.
Last month a new team member joined my Stampin' Up! team in the Netherlands and so my tradition continues. I decided to make her a card using this week's Pick Five challenge:
Pick Five
-word or letter stamps
-a rainbow
-brads or metallic sequins
-glitter (paper, washi, glue, sticker etc.)
-dimensional adhesive (think foam tape or pop dots)
Here's how I designed my card.
I started by stressing about the rainbow because I don't have any stamps with rainbows on them. Then I realized that I don't have to 'stamp' a rainbow, I can choose paper colors that would make a rainbow! I used Real Red, Cinnamon Cider Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Misty Moonlight, Gorgeous Grape, and Highland Heather. I adhered narrow strips across a scrap piece of Whisper White and then die-cut a stitched rectangle. This will be a layer on my card.
For my other card layers I chose matching colors: Old Olive, Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.
I decided to emboss the Highland Heather layer for added texture, using the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder - I am crazy in love with this design!
