Today is part eight (!) of my 'where do I get my crafting ideas from?' blog posts. I created this series because so many of you ask me exactly that question.
Today's idea you might find very handy. Have a look at the back of the Annual Catalog, on pages 143-143: Introducing our Color Collections:
These color collections are a great way to get inspiration, by mixing and matching colors in each collection. If you are new to Stampin' Up! the catalog has four main color groupings:
- Brights
- Neutrals
- Regals
- Subtles
In addition, Stampin' Up! offers special In Color Collections, available for two years, to give you a contemporary and fresh collection:
- 2019-21
- 2020-22
As you can see a new set of five In Colors is introduced in each subsequent catalog to always give you some fresh new colors to craft with and to keep up with colors in design, textiles, paints, etc.
Let me show you some cards I created using inspiration from the Color Collections.
A. Soft Suede, Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron:
I color blocked the layout for this Wildly Happy baby card and I am not sure you can see it in the photo above, I embossed the three colors for added visual interest and a bit of texture.
B. Mossy Meadow, Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate
I love this unusual Timeless Tulips card. It was easy to create with a bit of fussy cutting and the Tailored Tag punched colors makes the layout quite unusual.
I hope that you will have a look at Stampin' Up!s color collections the next time you need crafting inspiration. You just never know what you might create as a result.
