In today's video and blog post I am going to teach you a new card technique called: Peek Though the Middle. Fun name, right?
I learned the 'Peek through the Middle' technique on a private Facebook group that is only for Stampin' Up! demonstrators. This group usually meets three times a year to share ideas and have a day full of fun but now that we are social distancing, they decided to try a Facebook group event instead. I was looking through the presentations and saw a demonstrator showing this technique. I knew I wanted to try it so thought I would share my first attempt with you too!
For my card I decided to use the World of Good product suite again. I have shown you so many ideas using this suite. Check back to this blog post and this one for two of my favorite ideas. You don't need the entire suite to make today's card but just in case here's a photo to tempt you:
What makes this card unique are the cutting dimensions and the way to attach all the pieces together. Watch my video below so you can learn how to make this card too. Tip: once you learn the layout you can apply it to so many other occasions using the products you have on hand.
If I were to do this card over, I would change the color of the circle underneath the brass globe to be Very Vanilla instead of Misty Moonlight. Ah well, a good lesson learned.
Here's my card:
Stamp set: Beautiful World bundle (154091)
Ink: Misty Moonlight
Paper and cutting dimensions:
Misty Moonlight: 5 1/4" x 5 3/4"; 2 1/4" square; 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"; 2" x 3 3/8"
Very Vanilla: 2 3/4" x 4"; 5" x 4"; 1 1/2" square
Brass Foil Sheets: 2 1/4" square
World of Good paper:
Other: Stampin' Seal; Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Rectangle Stitched dies (151820), World of Good Specialty designer series paper(152491)
Here's a step-by-step video for this card, including bonus tips along the way.
If you decide to try the Peek Through the Middle technique I would love to see what you create. Feel free to add your photo in the comments section under this blog post.
Thanks Anita, I love this technique and will be using it again soon!
