In today's video I am going to make a beautiful thank you card with the help of my Verdant Garden stamp set and a set of new framelits that I just received this week.
« May 2019 | Main | July 2019 »
In today's video I am going to make a beautiful thank you card with the help of my Verdant Garden stamp set and a set of new framelits that I just received this week.
These new Stitched Rectangle framelits are perfect for the window card technique as they add a nice faux stitched border around the window, adding visual interest. The key to this card is choosing a designer paper pattern that is lovely to look at and then choosing a stamp that coordinates the paper with the card base.
Here's my card and don't miss a photo of the inside plus my video tutorial included below.
Stamp sets: Verdant Garden (149460), Love What You Do (148042)
Ink: Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper and cutting dimensions:
Pear Pizzaz: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Garden Lane (149488): 3 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Whisper White: 2 3/4" x 2; two pieces: 1 1/4" x 1"
Other: Tailored Tag punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Write Markers (Pear Pizzazz and Petal Pink), Tear & Tape Adhesive, Stitched Rectangles Dies (148551), Die-cutting machine
I think it is very interesting that when you open the card you see a completely different patterned paper on the inside! I also am showing you one idea for stamping the inside layer as well.
Here's my video tutorial, thanks for watching!

Well now you can, with the fabulous Come Sail Away product suite! And today I have a fun scrapbook page using many of these elements.
First, here's the suite, in case you haven't seen it yet:
I decided to make a page featuring two photos and to use up some of the Come Sail Away paper that I had left over from another project. After centering this paper strip down the middle of my page I then added two Basic Black photo frames, one on either side.
Then I turned to the Memories & More card pack in this suite and chose 2 cards to compliment the grey and black theme that seemed to be emerging.
And finally, to match my paper design I die-cut two underwater plants to add some visual interest to each of the cards. The final touch was to add some Adhesive-backed Sequins for a final sparkly touch.
Here's my page:
After I find and add the perfect photos for my page I may add some additional elements and if I do I will add a photo to this blog post as well.
If you want to see another scrapbook page I created using the same Come Sail Away suite, click here!

If you have difficulty designing your cards each time you craft, then I have the perfect challenge that will have you designing your cards like a pro!
Try our weekly Paper Craft Crew challenge!
I use card maps a lot when I need inspiration. I use them to help me get started with a layout and then go from there. Often my final product doesn't match the map but that's ok. It was just the bump I needed to open my mind and unlock my creativity.
Lately I have shared a lot of project using the new Come Sail Away product suite:
To see some of these projects, click here, here and here.
I wanted to try an unusual layout this week, starting with a Whisper White layer on the Whisper White card base. Instead of layering my Come Sail Away paper in the center of the Whisper White layer, (which I usually do) I moved it to the right side then I positioned my stamped and die-cut sail boats on the left side. popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The center of my card was looking pretty bare so I decided to add a strip of Balmy Blue card stock, a sticker phrase from the Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack and then a die-cut steering wheel.
Here's my card! Can you tell which row or column I used from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge map above?
Now it is your turn: try our card map challenge the next time you craft. And if you want to see what the other design crew members created, click here.

In today's video (below) I am going to show you how to create a lovely masculine card idea that doesn't use any stamps or ink. I only use, besides cardstock and ink, the Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack.
I have shown you several ideas using this new product and if you want to see all the cards and accessories in the pack, click here to link over to my Facebook business page where I created a Live video featuring the card pack.
In the pack there are two sheets of card overlays. I have been looking at these for a while, wondering how to use them and then I got an idea from a card I spotted online. That card gave me the idea for today's card.
In the video I explain how I created the card, which also uses the Swirls & Curls embossing folder:
Here's my card and underneath you will find a list of supplies with order numbers, and my video tutorial!
Stamp set: none
Ink: none
Paper and cutting dimensions:
Balmy Blue: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Night of Navy: 3 1/4" x 4 3/4"
Other: Die-cutting machine, Swirls and Curls embossing folder (147923), Come Sail Away Memories & More card pack (149552), Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins (146933, optional), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Baker's Twine (149483)
Here's my video, thanks for watching!

Pop quiz! How do you think this fancy border was created? Hint: it's not that difficult and I have a full set of instructions for this entire card (below).
It all starts with art. Seriously.
The It Starts with Art stamp set has some fun coordinating products: the Follow your Art paper and the Follow Your Art washi tape (so fun!!). Click on any of these small photos to link over to my online store and place a product order.
Can you see how the washi tape was used to add a fun element on the card? The 'hooray' phrase comes from the wonderful Well Written dies but if you don't have those (yet), then simply stamp a phrase in its place instead.
Now have you figured out how to make that lovely and fancy blue border that has see-through elements? How cool is that!

Have you ever seen (or created!) a card that make you smile every time you see it but you are not sure why? That's the feeling I had with today's card!
Is it the tag phrase from the new Time for Tags stamp set?
Is the pineapple image?
Is it the Pineapple Punch layer?
Is it the Noble Peacock Specialty designer series paper?
Or is it a combination of all these bits that make such a happy card? I am not really sure but I just had to share this card with you, along with the instructions in case you wanted to make it at home too!
Note: The Time for Tags stamp set is a hostess set, which means you can earn it for free with a qualifying order!

Are you the type of person who takes the scenic route in life? I sure am because there is so much to see and do in such a short span of time.
My life experiences have taught me that you shouldn't wait for the right time or moment. You need to take life by the horns and go for it! Whether at home, at work, or....all the time!
Today's blog post is sharing a product suite that has retired but I promised myself I would use it all up before moving on to any new supplies. And besides, you can take my idea and use products you have on hand, right?
The moment I spotted the Best Route suite on Stampin' Up!s display boards I knew that I had met a crafter's dream. So many fun products and I bought them ALL once that catalog when live.
I have created a few pages using this suite and posted them here on my blog. Check here and here for a couple of ideas.
I had so much fun creating today's page. I used up one of the Washi Tape rolls (New Year's Resolution, check!) and came up with a fun idea using one of the Memories & More cards:
Here's my page!
I am sad to see this product suite retire. I only have a few more bits and pieces left so watch for another page using them, coming soon!

This week's Paper Craft Crew card map seems very simple but has some interesting elements that make it slightly different to try.
What I really like about the above card map is that the ovals are off-center a bit which adds visual interest. When you craft, try this off-set idea, whether using ovals, circles or even squares.
I had a tough time trying to figure out the stamped images under the ovals. So I tried something out of my comfort zone: using the rope image and stamping it across the entire card front. This image is quite large so I needed to do it completely across the front so it would be clear what the image actually was. Instead of stamping an image you could also use a contrasting (but coordinating) paper strip, just for something a bit different.
I also like that the banner layer is between the ovals rather than underneath, giving it another unique touch.
And the embellishments - 5 in total. Again, beyond the usual 3 which you often see on cards and on card maps.
So having analyzed all these interesting details I decided to use my Sailing Home stamp set and a left over strip of the Come Sail Away designer paper as the banner.
For a different look, stamp and die-cut the lighthouse and then pop it up above the top oval, using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Now it's your turn: the next time you craft, try this idea or one of the variations I suggested above.

Today I am going to share a fabulous technique to create gorgeous 3D flowers!
Here's what you need to have ready:
The Hot Air Balloon punch is found on page 188 in the Annual Catalog. This punch is bundled with the Above the Clouds stamp set but it doesn't have to be (wink wink).
Next you need the Good Morning Magnolia bundle, the stamp set and the framelits, page 37 in the Annual Catalog:
Over time you will see why this bundle is so worth the money! Finally, you need your Silicone sheet and the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Now comes the fun part. And I am delighted that Stampin' Up! has created a video showing you how to make this fantastic flowers and this fun technique:
Have questions? Email me at: [email protected].

In today's video I am going to introduce the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and coordinating dies to show you how to make a beautiful thank you card. You can take this idea and make any kind of occasions card you need!
I love the Magnolia Lane product suite not because it is one of our top sellers in the new catalog but because of the variety of products that you can create with!
NOTE: You can actually buy ALL of these products as one complete bundle to get everything in the photo above - use order #152178
My card looks complicated to make but was very easy as my video below will show. And if you love to color this is the perfect bundle for you to consider!
Here's my card, I posted the inside below. (hint: check out page 36 in the Annual catalog to see how I got my idea!)
Stamp set: Good Morning Magnolia (bundle with framelits (151087)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper and cutting dimensions:
Crumb Cake: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Oh my gosh, today's card is the easiest I have made this year! All thanks to my Magnolia Lane Memories & More card pack:
Yes. That's it! No ink, no stamp sets, no embellishments. Just the card pack, a piece of Mossy Meadow for my card base and a left over strip of Basic Black.
Everything I used for my card comes from the card pack.
So enough said. Here it is:
And I have to say I love it! (hint: it's all in the placement)
Supplies:
Measurements:
Mossy Meadow: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2"
Basic Black: 1” x 5”; 3 1/8” x 4 1/8”

Just because the new catalog has gone live (yay!) doesn't mean you should turn away from your stash of crafting supplies. That's what I believe for myself too so today's card uses the new Magnolia Lane product suite along with some embellishments that have retired.
Do you remember my New Year's Resolution to use up my embellishments? I feel have done a really good job working on my resolution but I still have some left and I am determined to use them in the coming months. Last week I posted one card idea using up some embellishments and today I have another card idea to share.
I actually made the card below for a card map challenge and only after it was done I realized I couldn't post it on the challenge site because I had used retired products. But I thought you'd like to see my card anyway.
Have you seen the new Magnolia Lane product suite? If not, you might like to know it is one of the top selling suites so far:
I loved one of the paper patterns and decided that a single flower image, colored with Stampin' Blends, would be the perfect, simple match.
The phrase for my card also came from the Good Morning Magnolia set and I placed it at the bottom for added visual interest:
Do you have embellishments that are still untouched in your crafting spot? Why not try adding them to your next card, to use them up, and add that perfect final touch!
