Candy Cane Season hot chocolate packet

Here's how to make this hot chocolate packet

Supplies: 

• Stamp Sets – Candy Cane Season Bundle stamp set and Punch  (149927)
• Card Stock – Poppy Parade (119793);  Early Espresso (119686); Whisper White (100730)
• Stamp Pads – Poppy Parade (147050), Early Espresso (119686); Call Me Clover (146969)
• Misc. – Santa’s Workshop designer series paper (147809); Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (146912); 2 inch circle punch (133782); Starburst Punch (143717); Dimensionals (104430); Mini Glue Dots (103683); Tear & Tape (138995)
• Other - hot chocolate packet, candy cane spoon, etc

 

Measurements: 

• Poppy Parade CS :  4 ¼ x 11
• Early Espresso CS:  4 x 3 ½ 
• DSP: polka dot 3 ¾ x 3 and striped 1x 4 ¼ 

 

Instructions:

1. Score Poppy Parade cardstock at 1 ¼ and 5 ½ , and fold in half, then fold the 1 ¼ piece down to make an accordion. 
2. Adhere the striped dsp to the 1 ¼ inch piece
3. Adhere the piece of early espresso to the panel of the pocket
4. Adhere DSP to the top of the early espresso piece
5. Glue down the 1 ¼ inch piece on top of the early espresso and dsp
6. Tie ribbon around the packet to hold it together, do not tie it too tight so that you can still add a hot chocolate packet and a peppermint spoon or candy cane.
7. Punch out an early espresso piece using the starburst punch and punch out a 2 inch circle using the whisper white cardstock.
8. Stamp the candy cane on whisper white using the poppy parade ink and the bow using the call me clover ink and adhere with dimensionals
9. Add hot chocolate and a candy cane and ENJOY!

 

How to make Christmas bright this holiday season

Now that Thanksgiving is over and the turkey coma has passed, it's time to think about your Christmas card designs and I am here to help. 

Today's card idea was inspired by the Making Christmas Bright bundle - a colorful product suite with a touch of fun thrown in! I love the Christmas Bulb builder punch as that makes creating colorful bulbs a breeze!

Measurements:  

• Real Red Card Stock:11 5/8” x 4 1/8”
• Whisper White Card Stock: 4” x 2” 
• All is Bright Designer Series Paper: 5 5/8” x 3 7/8” (mat), 4 ½” x 2 3/8” (banner), 3” x 3” (one for circle sentiment and one for scalloped circle layer) 
• Vellum Card Stock 5 ½” x 3 ¾”

Instructions:

1. Fold Real Red Cardstock in half and burnish with Bone Folder to create card base. 
2. Adhere Vellum layer to All is Bright Layer with Tombow Multipurpose Glue. Place glue in centre where it will be hidden by banner. Adhere these 2 layers to Base Card with glue. 
3. Stamp 3 Bulbs onto Whisper White piece 1 each in Real Red, Crushed Curry and Shaded Spruce. Stamp 3 light ends in Smokey Slate. Punch out with Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. Affix light ends to coloured bulbs with Tombow Multipurpose Glue. 
4. Use the Triple Banner Builder Punch on the red strip from the All is Bright Designer Series Paper pack. 
5. Cut a 2 5/8” circle from the ‘bokeh’ patterned paper. Stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink. Ensure there is enough space between the two parts of your sentiment to fit your bulbs. 
6. Cut a scalloped circle from the Shaded Spruce patterned paper ensuring you use the size your sentiment circle will fit nicely.  Adhere your sentiment circle to your scalloped circle with tombow multipurpose glue. Adhere bulbs to circle with dimensionals. Affix your circle layer to your banner with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.
7. Tie Ribbon around top of banner and into a bow.
8. Affix Banner onto front of card with Dimensionals

Instructions:

1. Lay Baker’s Box flat on scrap paper and use a sponge brayer rolled in Pool Party ink to add a light layer of color.
2. Stamp Buffalo Check on white square of card stock. Assemble box and lay the buffalo check in the bottom.
3. Use Big Shot to cut out any images from the Designer Series Paper that you wish. Stamp “North Pole” in signpost, if using that image. 
4. Punch ribbon border from Poppy Parade card stock strip. Adhere to the front top of window with glue dots. 
5. Fill box with goodies. Wrap Poppy ribbon around the box and tie a bow.
6. Add die cut images to front of box using mini glue dots or dimensionals.

How to create an attractive 3D effect on your cards

Today I am going to show you how to create an attractive 3D effect on a Dashing Deer Christmas card. It's easy and will add such an eye-catching detail!

What to do when you have a long wish list

Do you have a crafting wish list as long as your arm? Me too! I have some great tips to help you get what you want. 

Here's what I do:

1. Prioritize.
   Am I running low on my favorite colors?
   Are there occasions coming soon that I need to craft for: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc?
   
   
2. Select.
   Thinking ahead I reorganize my wish list according to my priorities and then select what I will order first. 
   
   
3. Check with my friends. 
   Sometimes combining orders can earn me extra free goodies - with hostess awards we can share free packs of card stock, accessories and so on. 
   
   
4. Another consideration.

Measurements: 

• Pumpkin Pie Card Stock: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”
• Whisper White Card Stock: 4” x 5 1/4” (2 pieces) plus small scrap 1/2” x 5 for banner 
• Early Espresso Card Stock: 4 1/8” x 5 3/8”

 

Instructions: 

1. Score and fold the Pumpkin Pie base at 4 1/4”; attach the Early Espresso panel to the card base.
2. Punch one piece of Whisper White Card Stock with the 2 1/4” Circle Punch slightly to the right and inserted all the way. Lay the punched panel over the remaining Whisper White panel and sponge with Pumpkin Pie ink to create the large sun.
3. Ink the Tree Stand with Mango Melody ink; then remove the ink from the tree trunks with a tissue and color the trunks with the Early Espresso marker.
4. With Sponge Daubers, randomly Cajun Craze and Blackberry Bliss to the tree stand to create “Fall” leaves.
5. “Huff” on the stamp as needed to add moisture and stamp on the Whisper White Panel.
6. Add grass with the Pear Pizzazz ink.
7. Stamp the sentiment on the small piece of Whisper White and snip to create a banner on each end. Add to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
8. Add some rubbing alcohol to a Stampin’ Spritzer and pour in a small amount of the Frost White Shimmer Paint.  Spritz on the front of the card.

How to craft using bold and beautiful paper designs

I am back with another fun card map challenge for you to try! This week's Paper Craft Crew challenge map is perfect for using bold and beautiful paper designs, perhaps those papers you have tucked away because you are not sure how to use them. 

 

For my card I chose the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set. I love the vertical birthday phrase in the set and made that the focus on my card front:

4. Using paper snips, cut banner ends to Blackberry Bliss strip.
5. Ink phrase using Blackberry Ink and stamp into Whisper White layer. Add Mint Macaron stars above and below Blackberry Bliss phrase. 
6. Adhere Blackberry Bliss banner to Mint Macaron layer. Add phrase layer on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 
7. To complete, add one Artisan Pearl on each side of the Blackberry Bliss banner.

How to create a colorful card with aqua painters

Today I have a color birthday card idea using two sets, some ink and your aqua painters. If you haven't colored using Aqua Painters yet, you need to give this tool a try.

You get two painters per pack - one with a narrower brush tip and one with a wider brush tip. Fill the 'tank' with water and pick up color from your ink pads. If you would like a video on how to use Aqua Painters, leave a comment below - your wish is my command!

Tip: When you use Aqua Painters you must use an archival ink pad, like our Jet Black StazOn ink. If you don't use archival ink and you color with the painters the ink will run and look very messy.

Supplies:

 Cutting Measurements: 

• Whisper White Thick: 5 ½  x 8 ½ ” card base; 
• Whisper White CS: 3 ¼  x 4 ½ ”  
• Berry Burst CS: 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 ”  
• Watercolor paper: about 3 x 4

 

Instructions: 

1. Create card front from thick Whisper White CS by scoring at 4 ¼ ”. 
2. Stamp wine bottle, glass and part of the tag with grape on scrap watercolor paper in archival black ink. Using Aqua painter to paint stamped images with old olive ink and berry burst. Just squeeze the lid of the ink pads to transfer the ink to the lid and use it as a pallet. Let the images dry then cut them with the paper snips. Set aside.
3. Stamp “Happy Birthday” image in top right side of the whisper with piece. Mount into berry burst mat. Then adhere to the card base with snail.
4. Adhere bottle with snail and wine glass and grape with dimensionals.
5. Embellish with pearls.
