Here's the card I have been raving about - under the photo you will find a full set of instructions. 

Supplies:

• Stamp Set: En Route (146591 – wood; 146594 – clear block)
• Cardstock and Paper: Best Route Cardstock Pack (146898), Whisper White (100730), Best Route Memories & More Card Pack (147036)
• Ink: Blueberry Bushel (147138), Gray Granite (147118)
• Miscellaneous: Maps Etc. Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (146822), Best Route Enamel Shapes (146900), Best Route Washi Tape (146901), 2” Circle Punch (133782), 1-3/4” Circle Punch (119850), Layering Circles Framelits (141705), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108), Paper Snips (103579)

 

Measurements:

• Mango Melody card base: 11” x 4-1/4”, scored at 5-1/2” the folded in half plus pieces that are 2-1/2” x 2-1/2” and 4-1/2” x 4”
• Blueberry Bushel: 3-3/4” x 5”
• Whisper White: 3-1/2” x 4-3/4” plus scrap about 1” x 4”
• Blueberry Bushel washi tape: about 3”

 

Instructions:

1. Run Mango Melody card base through Maps Etc. Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder using Big Shot. Set aside.
2. Trim three smaller cards out of the Best Route Memories & More Card Pack so two pieces are ½” wide on the long (4”) edge of the card and so one other pattern is ¾” wide. Using SNAIL adhere those on the Mango Melody scrap that is about 4-1/2” x 4” laying them down at an angle and making sure to leave a small gap between strips. Trim at an angle on one edge. Hold that piece down onto the larger Whisper White piece and mark it so you know how to trim the other end. Trim it.
3. Holding that piece back down on the Whisper White align where you want the sentiment to go, ink with Blueberry Bushel and stamp. If you don’t adhere it first, you can always redo if your stamping goes awry. Once it looks right, adhere strip piece to Whisper White with SNAIL.
4. Using Gray Granite stamp road map image onto Gray Granite cardstock and punch out with 1-3/4” Circle Punch. Using 2” Circle, punch Mango Melody. Using 2-3/8” circle die, cut out a circle from the Blueberry Bushel Memories & More card (it is the one with a white circle in the center). Adhere Gray Granite to Mango Melody with SNAIL. Adhere a strip of Blueberry Bushel Washi Tape across top of Gray Granite making sure to wrap it around back. Using SNAIL adhere that piece to the larger Blueberry Bushel circle.
5. Stamp bicycles in Blueberry Bushel along bottom of the 4” Whisper White scrap. Trim so that it’s about ½” wide. Using Paper Snips trim to create an arrow. Using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere to top of circle piece.
6. Adhere Whisper White larger piece to Blueberry Bushel base with SNAIL. 
7. With Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere circle to front of card so it is over the three diagonal strips. Also with Dimensionals, add Blueberry Bushel to card base.
8. Apply Best Route Enamel Shapes to left of sentiment.

Instructions:

1. Cut two pine sprigs from a scrap of Old Olive CS using the Pretty Pines Thinlits.
2. Stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink onto the small Whisper White CS.
3. Glue the Old Olive CS onto the front of the card base.
4. Glue the larger DSP onto the Old Olive CS layer. 
5. Glue the smaller DSP onto the larger DSP layer.
6. Glue the sentiment onto the smaller DSP.
7. Glue the two pine sprigs onto the larger DSP layer, with the ends tucked under the smaller DSP.
8. Glue the larger Whisper White CS onto the inside of the card base.
9. Apply 3 red rhinestones to the sentiment piece.
10. Tie a bow with the ribbon and adhere using Mini Glue Dots.

How to create a card map with a cool twist

I love a card map that offers so many different possibilities. As you look at our Paper Craft Crew challenge for the week, here are some things to consider:

• instead of the white background, use designer series paper
• instead of the white background, use a solid color
• use washi tape instead of the vertical paper strip
• instead of the flower embellishments think of other layer ideas (and shapes)

Spotlight a sorry to see you leave us card

I work for an international organization of 180 employees and 64 different nationalities. We have all come together because we believe in and want to grow the mission of our organization. Having so many employees leave their families to work abroad for a few years means that there are times during the year when these wonderful friend decide to return home and see their next opportunities. 

This month we are saying a sad farewell to someone on our team. I have really enjoyed working with and learning from this person. I created the card below for our team to sign at her farewell party. Tips:

1. Instead of using washi tape, use a plain strip of Basic Black card stock
2. Instead of using the embossing folder, stamp images all over the Mango Melody layer, using Mango Melody ink
3. Try a different embossing folder for a different background effect. 
4. Make a second card and change the layout from landscape to be portrait.

Measurements:  

• Thick Whisper White: 4¼” x 11”

Instructions:

1. Adhere the DSP to the left side of the card.
2. Hinge Stamp the Happy Birthday Sentiment on the 3 ½” x 5 ½” panel. Placing your Cardstock in the right corner of the Stamparatus and laying your stamp where needed. Ink first With Granny Apple Green, move the plated down to the next hinge and stamp in Blushing Bride and then Granny Apple and so forth. Or you can do hinge 1-3-5 in Granny Apple, clean and do Hinge 2 & 4 in Blushing Bride. Attach to card overlapping the DSP using SNAIL adhesive.
3. Add strip of Shaded Spruce using SNAIL.
4. Stamp the leaves in Granny Apple Green and cut out using framelit. Stamp flower in Blushing Bride and cut out using the framelit. 
5. Cut Shaded Spruce Ferns (2) and add to card.
6. Ferns and leaf on the left are adhered using adhesive. Bigger Leaf is popped up with a Stampin' Dimensional as well as the Flower.
7. Add Rhinestone to the center of the Flower.

I love this card idea because you can create several through an assembly line, either on one single day or over several days, after you order the supplies you want to use:

1. Cut all paper, including layers and bits to be stamped, punched and die-cut
2. Stamp and punch all gingerbread boys and bow-ties
3. Emboss card front (or keep it simple by not embossing)
4. Stamp and diecut phrase layers
5. Adhere paper layer strips and then adhere to card front
6. Attach gingerbread boys and phrases
7. Add metallic pearls (or eliminate to keep costs down)
8. Cut layer for inside of card
9. Stamp envelopes and inside card layer (if using)
10. Tuck Christmas cards away for December mailing
11. Add note to November calendar to pull out cards and get ready to mail
12. Add note to December calendar to mail to friends and family!

Cookie Cutter Christmas card

Supplies: 

• Stamp Sets – Cookie Cutter Christmas (142043),

4. Ink Gingerbread Boy image twice using Early Espresso ink and stamp onto Whisper White card stock. Punch out using Cookie Cutter Builder punch. 
5. Punch two Real Red bow ties. Adhere to Gingerbread Boys using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add two Metallic Pearls, one to each bow tie. 
6. Adhere Gingerbread Boys to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7. Ink phrase using Real Red ink and stamp onto Whisper White card stock. Diecut using Layering Ovals framelit. Diecut second oval using Early Espresso card stock. Adhere two ovals together. Add to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL adhesive. 
8. Add two Metallic Pearls to phrase to complete card.

How to send healing hugs to someone special

This week the Paper Craft Crew have a color challenge for you to create with. Choose three colors of the four and the rest is up to you:

 

I decided on: Blueberry Bushel, So Saffron and Melon Mambo for my challenge colors, inspired by a piece of designer series paper. 

My Healing Hugs card was really easy to create! The Garden Impressions designer paper was originally a 2 3/4" square that I cut in half diagonally and adhered to the card base. I stamped two flowers (Flourishing Phrase stamp set) and cut the center of one to layer onto the center of the second one with a Stampin' Dimensional:

Add a banner for the phrase and the card is done - can you see the tiny So Saffron pearl in the center of the flower? It is from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls embellishment pack.

1 easy way to create a beautiful card

Stampin' Blends are an amazing coloring tool and I am so excited that all Stampin' Blends in the Annual Catalog are now ready for ordering! I immediately ordered two combo packs: Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade. 

I used these two colors for today's card. Perhaps you don't recognize the floral image? That's because it is a limited-time offer coming your way in August!

Here's my card - clean, simple and beautiful, don't you think? I created it as a 'good-bye' card for a colleague at work. She has resigned and is moving on to her next life adventure so I made this card for our team to sign.

Blended Seasons Good-bye card

Supplies

Stamp sets: Blended Seasons (149016)

Stampin’ Blends: Poppy Parade Combo Pack (147275); Granny Apple Green Combo Pack (147274)

Ink: StazOn Jet Black (101406); Granny Apple Green (147095)

Paper: Whisper White (100730); Granny Apple Green (146990)

Other: SNAIL adhesive (104332), Layering Ovals framelits (141706), Big Shot (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

 

Measurements    

•   Whisper White: 4” x 5 1/4”; 3” x 1 3/4”
•   Granny Apple Green: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”

Instructions 

1. Fold Granny Apple Green card stock in half to create card base.
2. Ink flower stamp using StazOn ink and stamp onto Whisper White layer
3. Color flower image using Stampin’ Blends. Adhere layer to card base.
4. Ink phrase image using Granny Apple Green and stamp onto Whisper White piece. 
5. Diecut phrase oval using Big Shot and Layering Ovals framelits. 
6. Attach phrase to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
