How to watercolor a beautiful serene garden card

Here's just one pretty card idea, using Stampin' Blends to color the stamped images. Keep reading for the instructions: 

 

Supplies: 

• Stamp Sets – Serene Garden Bundle (148395); Love What You Do (148042)
• Card Stock – Whisper White (100730); Basic Black (121045)
• Stamp Pads – Black Memento (132708)
• Misc. – Calypso Coral Blend Light (144042); Calypso Coral Blend Dark (144044); Old Olive Blend Light (144574); Old Olive Blend Dark (144573); Dimensionals (104430); Basic Rhinestones (144220)

 

Measurements:  

• Basic Black:           8 ½ ” x 5 ½ ”
• Whisper White : 3 ¼ ” x 4 ½ ” 
• Whisper White:2” x 2” scrap for Butterfly

 

Instructions:

1. Stamp the image onto the large white mat making sure to leave a border on the bottom and side.
2. Color Image with Old Olive Blends (Light and Dark), and Calypso Coral (Light and Dark)
3. Stamp Butterfly onto scrap of white and color using the same colors. Cut out on Big Shot using the die for the Butterfly and attach with a Dimensional and decorate with a single Rhinestone
4. Stamp the Greeting in Black Memento in the top right corner.
5. Attach Stamped mat to the card base using Dimensionals.

 

How to create an amazing textured background that dazzles

Have you tried embossing paste yet? If not, you really need to give it a go! Stampin' Up! sells three different kinds of embossing paste: shimmery white, silver and white. I chose the plain white paste because I knew it can be dyed with our ink refills but you can also do something else really cool too! (read on!)

If you do not know how to apply embossing paste using the decorative masks, here's a video Stampin' Up! created and shared. Stampin' Up! trainer, Brandi, shows you just how easy it is to add texture and interest to your papercrafting projects:

Now that you have watched this video, let me tell you what I did to my card below. I mixed Dazzling Diamonds Glitter into a spoonful of embossing paste before I spread it across my decorative mask. And it makes such cool but subtle glittery amazing textured background!

I also used the Floral Phrases stamp set (141767) and the Swirly Scribbles thinlits for the floral elements. Such fun!

How to create a unique cross stitch background

There are many ways to create a card with a vintage feel - but using stamps that are vintage in design, sponging elements for a card or choosing colors that are more vintage in tone. Stampin' Up! came out with a new set that has a vintage feel in the stamps and coordinating framelits.

See how to coordinate punched images

The Varied Vases stamp set is one of the most popular in the new Annual Catalog and I am not surprised it is! The set has 34 photopolymer stamps making placement a breeze but I think the reason this set is so popular is its matching builder punch. Having a bundled set and punch means you don't have to have a lot of equipment on hand to create gorgeous cards.

Instructions:

1. Score thick Whisper White cardstock at 4 1/4", fold & set aside
2. Punch out 3 vases using Vases Builder punch
3. Stamp with flower outline in Black memento, then flower fill-in with Pool party ink
4. Stamp "shelf" scallop along lower edge of Pool Party cardstock, centering image
5. *Lay vases on "shelf to align flower images so they appear to be in vases
6. Stamp flowers on Pool Party in Memento Black
7. Adhere one vase using Snail, the other two using Dimensionals
8. Stamp Thanks on Whisper White scrap, cut with smallest banner framelit
9. Attach with mini Dimensionals, embellish with pearls.
10. Attach Pool Part layer to Basic Black cardstock layer, then adhere to Whisper White cardstock base using Snail

How to add a playful background to your next card

Today I have a fun thank you card idea using the Playful Backgrounds and Love What You Do stamp sets.

I decided to choose two new colors: Blueberry Bliss and Call Me Clover - these colors give my card a bright and happy feel to it. The card was very easy to make as well - stamp the background twice, create the phrase layers using the Layering Circles framelits and a tiny Call Me Clover bow to complete my card. (check out my instructions under the card photo below)

•   Whisper White: 3 3/4” x 5”; 1 3/4” square

Instructions

1. Fold Pacific Point card stock in half to create card base.
2. Ink Playful Background using Pacific Point ink and stamp twice onto Whisper White layer. Adhere to Pacific Point card base.
3. Cut banner from one end of Call Me Clover strip and adhere to Whisper White layer. 
4. Ink Thank You image using Pacific Point and Call Me Clover markers and stamp onto Whisper White square. 
5. Diecut Thank You and Pacific Point circles using Big Shot and Layering Circles framelits. Adhere together using SNAIL adhesive.
6. Add phrase circle to card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7. Attach Call me Clover bow to card using Mini Glue Dot.
8. Add Basic Black twine and tie in knot to complete card.

Instructions:

1. Punch one end of both 2-1/2” black card stock pieces using the Triple Banner punch and adhere behind Lovely Lipstick card stock. Adhere to front of Striped Treat bag. 
2. Layer Polka Dot Tulle ribbon across the top of Lovely Lipstick card stock. 
3. Stamp “Hooray” on white card stock with Lovely Lipstick. Add polka dot “Hooray” in black ink on top of Lipstick color.
4. Adhere a section of gold sequin trim to the back of stamped Hooray piece on either side, then attach over the top of Lipstick card stock layer at a jaunty angle. 
5. Cut Broadway Lights frame from Gold foil sheet in the Big Shot. Attach around the “Hooray” with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. 
6. Emboss “Let’s Celebrate You” on black card stock with white embossing powder. Once dry, punch out sentiment with Classic Label punch and attach to front of bag with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
