One of my New Year's resolutions is to share a wider variety of stamping tips, tricks and techniques with you so let's start off with an amazing technique!

The ECLIPSE technique is all the rage right now and is fun to design and create. Today's card and video (below!) shows you this technique to create a stunning birthday card.

• Misc. – Picture Perfect Party 6x6 Designer Series Paper (DSP)  (145559); Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes (145632); Basic Black Solid Bakers Twine (141682); Celebrate You Thinlits Dies (146840); Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (144106); Dimensionals (104430); Banner Triple Punch (138292); Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (100082)

Measurements:  

• Berry Burst Card Stock: 5 1/2” x 8 ½”   and 1 ½” x 4”
• Basic Black Card Stock: 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” 
• Whisper White Card Stock: 3 ¾” x 5” and 4” x 5 ¼” (for inside)
• DSP:  Striped Pattern 1” x 1 ¾” and Peach Pattern ¾” x 1 ½”
• Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets: 1 ½” x 4”

 

Instructions:

1. Score the larger piece of berry burst cardstock down the middle at 4 ¼” (along the 8-1/2” side). This will be your card base.
2. Peel off the backing of the multipurpose adhesive sheet and add it to the 1 ½” x 4” piece of berry burst cardstock.
3. Cut out the word ‘celebrate’ from this berry burst cardstock. Note: make sure the cardstock is facing up (adhesive sheet should be on the bottom). 
4. Using the black marker, ink up ‘the good stuff’ and stamp it in the lower right corner of the smaller of the two white cardstock pieces.
5. Peel off the backing on the ‘celebrate’ and stick it just above the words you just stamped.
6. Add the white cardstock to the centre of the basic black cardstock.
7. Flag one end of each of the two pieces of dsp using the triple banner punch and add them to the upper left corner of the white cardstock.
8. Add this panel to the card front using dimensionals.
9. Tie a bow from about 8” of black twine and adhere it to the center of the banners.
10. Add three of the glitter enamel shapes to the card front.
11. Stamp desired greeting using Memento ink on the second white piece of cardstock. Note: I stamped the ‘today we celebrate wonderful brilliant fabulous you!’ greeting.
12. Add this panel to the inside of your card.

Measurements:  

• Powder Pink: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”

Instructions:

1. Attach the designer paper to the bottom of the Whisper White cardstock as shown.
2. Wrap the ribbon around this layer and tie it in a knot.
3. Attach the Whisper White layer to the Powder Pink card base.
4. Using Basic Gray ink, stamp the greeting as shown.
5. Add the silver heart Enamel Shape.

Instructions:

1. Color on Glossy card stock with various colors of the Stampin’ Blends.
2. Drip 5-10 drops rubbing alcohol onto colored Glossy card stock and let dry. Repeat.
3. Attach Glossy card stock to Basic Black layer and attach to card front.
4. Using thinlets cut out “Friends” with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and attach to Glossy card stock
5. Stamp sentiment with Momento ink
6. Using the Fine Tip Glue attach a few sequins.

How to add wicked birthday wit to your next card

Introducing another 2018 Occasions catalog stamp set - one with a wicked sense of humor!

Birthday Wit is a set of 7 stamps - all fun phrases just for birthdays. Here's one card idea complete with a full set of instructions and supplies list underneath.

Birthday Wit card

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Birthday Wit (145753 - clear mount; 145750 - wood mount) 

Inks: Tuxedo Black Memento Pad (132708); Melon Mambo (126948), Tempting Turquoise (126952) & Old Olive (126953) Classic Stampin’ Pads

Paper: Whisper White Cardstock (100730), Melon Mambo Cardstock (115320), & Tempting Turquoise Cardstock (102067)

Embellishments: Brights Enamel Shapes (141680)

Other: Fast Fuse Adhesive (129026), Big Shot (143263), Polka Dot Basics Textured Impresssions Embossing Folder (143709), Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108), Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122234)

 

Measurements:

• Melon Mambo: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored and folded at 4-1/4” 
• Whisper White: 4” x 2-1/4” & 5-1/4” x 4” + scraps for the coloured stamping (see directions below)
• Tempting Turquoise: 4-1/8” x 2-3/8”

 

Instructions:

1. Using the Big Shot, emboss the front of your card base using the Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder.  
2. Stamp the sentiment on the 4” x 2-1/4” piece of Whisper White cardstock, using Memento Ink.  Glue this to the piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  The entire layer can be glued to the card front using Fast Fuse Adhesive.
3. Stamp the sentiment three more times on scrap pieces of Whisper White cardstock.  You will need to use the Melon Mambo, Old Olive, and Tempting Turquoise ink, once for each stamp.  The goal is to be able to cut out the individual squares.
4. One the sentiments have been stamped in colour on scrap cardstock, use your scissors to cut out each block - see the photo to help determine which blocks to cut out.
5. Adhere the coloured blocks to the main sentiment with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Add four Old Olive Enamel shapes to the corners of the sentiment.
6. Stamp the “You’re Welcome” phrase on the 5-1/4” x 4” piece of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Ink.  Using Melon Mambo ink, stamp 3 “firework” images around the sentiment. Glue to the inside of the card using Fast Fuse Adhesive.  Add three Tempting Turquoise Enamel shapes to the centre of each.

Instructions:

• Die cut the 4” x 4” Whisper White layer through the Big Shot with the edge lit that has the bigger houses.
• Adhere the die cut layer to the DSP layer about 1/4” from the top.
• Die cut the smaller houses on the 4” x 2” layer of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to card front where shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Wrap the Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine around the DSP layer three times, tying in a bow at the left.
• Stamp the MERRY & BRIGHT in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on Whisper White scrap - die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits oval.
• Stamp the small star above the greeting with Cherry Cobbler ink.
• Die cut a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits and a scrap of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
• Adhere greeting layer to scalloped layer and then the card front where shown with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
• Add DSP to Old Olive card front.
• Stamp a greeting on the 4” x 5-1/4” Whisper White layer and add a couple of the houses to the bottom to spruce it up.
• Enjoy!
