Help someone celebrate an outstanding birthday

Making birthday cards doesn't have to be complicated. Today I have the perfect card to help someone celebrate their birthday, using the Birthday Blooms stamp set. Don't miss my instructions and video tutorial at the bottom of this post!

Supplies

Stamp sets: Birthday Blooms (clear: 140658; wood: 140655) 

Ink: Tranquil Tide (144085)

Paper: Whisper White (100730), Naturally Eclectic designer series paper (144185), Tranquil Tide (144246)

Accessories: SNAIL adhesive (104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Tranquil Tide 1/2” finely woven ribbon (15” piece), Mini Glue Dots (103683), 2 1/4” circle punch (143720)

Measurements

•   Tranquil Tide: 4” x 5 1/4”
•   Whisper White: 8 1/2” x  5 1/2” (card base); 2 3/4” square
•   Naturally Eclectic: 1 3/4” x 5 1/4”

Instructions

1. Fold Whisper White card stock in half to create card base. 
2. Adhere Tranquil Tide layer to card base using Snail adhesive. Adhere Naturally Eclectic strip to Tranquil Tide layer. 
3. Ink phrase using Tranquil Tide ink and stamp onto Whisper White square. Punch. 
4. Adhere stamped circle to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. 
5. Tie Tranquil Tide bow and cut off bolt. Adhere to phrase circle using Mini Glue Dot to complete card.

This week's Paper Craft Crew card challenge is to create a card using a combination using 3 of the following 4 colors:

At first I was stumped. I looked through my designer paper stash and stamp sets. I picked the Just Add Text stamp set because I knew I could use my ink pads and blender pens to use three of the challenge colors: Tempting Turquoise, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tranquil Tide.

Then I used two strips of left over Naturally Eclectic paper and my Bloomin' Heart thinlits.

Supplies: 

• Stamp Sets – none
• Paper – Crumb Cake (121685); Melon Mambo (119980); Blushing Bride (131287); Pink Pirouette (116203); Whisper White (106549); Wood Textures Designer series paper (144177)
• Stamp Pads – none 
• Misc. – Seasonal Layers Thinlits (143751); Pattern Party Decorative Masks (144103); Embossing Paste (141979); Palette Knives (142808); Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (144106) OPTIONAL

Measurements:  

• Crumb Cake: 8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼” (21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm)
• Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette: scrap pieces to die cut flowers
• Wood Textures DSP: 6” x 6” sheet to die cut branches 
• Whisper White Cardstock: 4”x 5¼” (9.5cm x 13.8cm) OPTIONAL (for inside of card)

 

Instructions:

1. Use the Brick mask with a palette knife and embossing paste to cover the front of the Crumb Cake card base. Leave to dry. 
2. Optional – add adhesive sheet to back of Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette card stock and DSP. This will make it easier to attach pieces to card base.
3. Die cut three branches from the Wood Textures DSP.
4. Using the three detailed flower dies, cut five flowers from each of the Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette pieces.
5. Attach branches to front of card, snipping off pieces that hang off the edge of the card. Keep these pieces for the inside of the card.
6. Attach flowers to branches.
7. Add sentiment as required. I decided not to include a sentiment.
8. Optional – Attach branch pieces and three flowers to the Whisper White layer for the inside of the card. Attach layer to card.

 

 

 

How to create an simplistic wedding card

_{This is such a nice time of year for weddings and perhaps you will be asked to honor a special couple in your life by attending their ceremony.} Today I have a very simple Oh So Eclectic wedding card idea to provide you with some inspiration:

Stamp Sets: Oh So Eclectic (w 143937; c 143940), Beautiful Bouquet (p 143666)

Inks:  Versamark (102283)

Paper: Smoky Slate (131202), Whisper White (100730) 

Other:  Pretty Label Punch (143715), Heat Tool (129053), Silver Emboss Powder (133756), Silver 3/8” Metallic-Edge Ribbon (144213), Clear Faceted Gems (144142), Dimensionals (104430), Snail (104332)

Measurements: 

• Whisper White: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”
• Smoky Slate: 5 ¼” x 4”
• Wisteria Wonder: 3 ½” x 3”
• Ribbon: 6 ½” 

Instructions: 

1. Fold the Whisper White card base in half.
2. Stamp the flower outline, with Versamark ink, on the bottom of the Smoky Slate cardstock.
3. Sprinkle the stamped image with Silver Emboss Powder and heat set with the heat gun.
4. Stamp the saying on the scrap of white cardstock. Sprinkle the saying with Silver Emboss Powder and heat set with the heat gun.
5. Punch out the saying with the Pretty Label punch. Use the punch upside down so you can see to center the saying.
6. Wrap the ribbon around the Smoky Slate cardstock and secure it at the back. Attach it to the card front.
7. Add a small faceted gem to the center of each flower.
8. Add the saying to the front of the card with dimensionals.

How to create a dreamy baby card

It's time for another Paper Craft Crew card map and this week my Moon Baby card is quite a different take on this map!

 

I loved this map from the moment I saw it but wanted to do something completely different. The cloud gave me the idea for a baby card and the Naturally Eclectic paper was the perfect background layer!

Learn an easy way to make a marbled background

Today's Friday Feature is to introduce Stampin' Up!s background stamps (pages 164-165) and to show you how easy they are for gorgeous (and easy) backgrounds!
