How to spotlight spring with this spectacular card

Spring has finally sprung here! The skies are blue and the forecast promises a slow warming this coming week. 

So let's craft a spectacular birthday card that spotlights spring!

• Stamp Pads – Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)
• Misc. – Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (141648); Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies (142755);  Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); SNAIL Adhesive (104332); Fine-Tip Glue Pen (138309)

 

Measurements:  

• Whisper White: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4") 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
• Daffodil Delight:3” x 3”
• Basic Black: 3 1/8” x 3 1/8” 2 1/8” x 2 5/8”
• Designer Paper: 1 5/8” x 5 1/2"
• Soft Sky: 2 1/8” x 2 5/8”
• Old Olive: 2 1/8” x 2 5/8”

 

Instructions:

1. Use the oval Daisy Thinlit Die and cut one using the smallest piece of Basic Black cardstock and pop out all the pieces so you have the frame left.
2. Use the same die to cut out the center of the Daffodil Delight cardstock piece and pop out all the pieces making sure to keep the center of the flower.
3. Glue the small square of Whisper White cardstock to the back of the Daffodil Delight piece and glue the black Daisy oval to the Whisper White and glue in the flower center.
4. Use the Daisy die to cut another oval from the Soft Sky cardstock.  Pop out the pieces one at a time and glue into the Basic Black Daisy frame.
5. Use the Daisy die to cut out another oval from Old Olive cardstock.  Pop out the pieces one at a time and glue into the Basic Black Daisy frame.
6. Glue the Designer Series Paper on the left side of the card base.
7. Glue the Daffodil Delight square onto the Basic Black square and attach to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
8. Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

1 easy way to spotlight visual interest on a card

It is not difficult to spotlight visual interest on a card and today I am going to show you how, using one simple tool:

 

Banner Triple Punch

The Banner Triple Punch gives you triple the banner options in one punch. You can make banners in three widths--1", 1-1/2", and 2" (2.5 cm, 3.8 cm and 5.1 cm)--in any length. Just slide the paper in, punch, and get perfectly notched banners (or gift tags, bookmarks, belly bands) every time.

How to create a simple monochromatic birthday card

I'd like to show you how to create a simple monochromatic birthday card idea using an amazing bundle of products. What is monochromatic you might ask? It's a fun stamping technique especially when you are just starting out as a crafter. You only use one color, along with a neutral such as black, white, grey, etc.

For my Flourishing Phrases card I used a few products - I chose Watermelon Wonder (so sad it is retiring) and Whisper White for my color scheme.

Introducing the amazing Tabs for Everything stamp set

I am excited to introduce a new Annual Catalog called: Tabs for Everything. To be honest at first glance I was a bit underwhelmed but who says "No" to a free stamp set? Not me!

But now that Stampin' Up!s On Stage event is over I sat down to craft a card to mail to my son (I mail him a letter every week) and I ended up using Tabs for Everything and am now very impressed as to how versatile this set actually is!

When was the last time you said thanks to someone - or better yet, made a thank you card? I find most of my local customers are not so keen on a thank you card class and I feel a bit sad about that. 

I think we need to say sorry and thank you much more often than we do.
