I love what I do and so can you!

Stamping and scrapbooking are clearly my passion. I get down right grumpy if I don't stamp for a few days - it feels so good to create something special for someone! And it feels even better to be part of the Stampin' Up! family.

• Stamp Pads – Memento Black (132708)
• Misc. – Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack (142733); Happy Hearts Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (137364) ;Brights Enamel Shapes (141680);  Basic Black Bakers twine (134576); Layering Circles Framelits (141705) ;Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430 ) ;Snail Adhesive (104332)

  

Measurements:  

• Real Red Card Stock:   4 1/4” x 11”   2 1/8” x 3 5/8”
• Basic Black Card Stock:  2” x 4 5/8”   2 1/4” x 3 3/4”  3” square for scallop circle
• 3” square of Whisper White for circle
• Sending Love DSP:  1 7/8” x 4 1/2”
• 20” of Basic Black Bakers twine

 

Instructions:

1. Score and fold the Real Red Card Stock 4 1/4”x 11”
2. Add DSP to the Black card stock and adhere to the left side of the card front using snail
3. Emboss the remaining piece of real red Card stock with the Happy Hearts Embossing folder.  Adhere to the Basic Black Card Stock
4. Wrap twine around the left side of embossed piece.  Tie into a bow.  Adhere to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals 
5. Stamp message on the square of Whisper White and cut out using the  Layering Circles Framelits.
6. Cut out the next size scallop circle out of the 3” square of Basic Black Card Stock.  Add the stamped image to the Black scallop.  Very small edge is shown
7. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, add the  Stamped design to the right side of the embossed card stock
8. Apply 2 Enamel shapes hearts to the stamped image.

Why you should consider special reason this season

This past weekend I celebrated the birthday of a very special friend and so of course I had a special reason to make a card for her. I knew that I wanted to use the new Birthday Bright stamp set and that I wanted the card to be bright and colorful. And then I got stuck. 

As you can see the 'Happy Birthday' phrase is quite large and so I decided (after looking online for inspiration) to use the Special Reason stamp set for the floral details.

How Stampin' Up! catalogs provides remarkable inspiration

Yes, Stampin' Up! calls them catalogs but they are so much more than that. These catalogs are also Idea Books! And that's how I view them too - whenever I am stuck for inspiration one of the places I look is back in the catalog so see what the concept artists have created for my favorite stamp sets.
