Make someone's special birthday bright (Occasions Catalog, day 6)

Today I would like to introduce another new stamp set in the Occasions Catalog: Birthday Bright!

This birthday stamp set was designed to coordinate with the Birthday Bright Project Kit - but I decided to use it on my own card creation! 

I also used the brand new Urban Underground designer series paper - I am crazy in love with the designs and colors in this pack - perfect for masculine cards!

Here's my Birthday Bright card - I stamped the phrase on a strip of cardstock vellum:

Celebrate You

Stamp Sets: Beautiful You clear (143637), wood (143004)

Card Stock: Basic Black (121045); Whisper White (100730); Real Red (102482)

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black (132708); Smokey Slate (131179), Real Red (126949)

Accessories. – Hello You Thinlits (137363); Pearl Basic Jewels (119247); Stamp-a-ma-jig, optional (101049); Multipurpose Glue (110755)

Paper cutting measurements:

          Basic Black: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
          Whisper White: 4 x 5 1/4"
          Real Red: scraps for thinlits

Instructions:

1. Score 8  1⁄2” x 5 1⁄2”piece of Basic Black cardstock at41⁄4” and fold in half to create card base. Set aside.

2. Randomly (in a pattern) stamp the lady with Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, with optional use of the stamp-a-ma-jig.

3. Stamp all but one lady’s dress with Smokey Slate ink.Stamp the focal lady’s dress with Real Red ink.

4. Stamp the sentiment with Real Red  ink.

5. Cut the Real Red scrap of cardstock with the YOU thinlit from the Hello You Thinlit set and affix to card as shown using tiny dots of multipurpose glue.

6. Adhere three of the tiniest Pearl Basic Jewels to the lady in red to form necklace.

How to make a card in mere minutes: card nineteen

Have you seen the Oh Happy Day card kit? This is an all-inclusive kit for making 20 unique cards for a variety of occasions, and the kit comes with the stamp set (13 stamps!) included!

Over the past few weeks I have been showing you each card in this card and the steps I took to create it. That way when you purchase this kit you will not only have a photo of the card in the kit box, but additional step-by-step photos to go with it. 

Here's card #19:

1. Gather all your supplies.

2. Use your bone folder to crease the score lines:

3. Add 4 Stampin' Dimensionals onto back of square frame: 

4. Add the frame to the front of the card - make sure that you can tuck the front bottom of the card under the bottom part of the frame:

5. Ink phrase and stamp right through the frame onto the front of the card:

6. Stamp the envelope:

7. Add the star embellishments to the front of the card, using your Fine Tip Glue pen:

8. And your card is done!

It's a sensational black tie gala creative card challenge

This week the Paper Craft Crew challenge is super fun - it's a black tie gala and we would love you to join in!

 

The one funny thing for me, as a design crew member, is that I don't have a large selection of black and white ideas so I did a little twist: Very Vanilla and Basic Black. I am trying to use up all my designer series paper and have lots of Playful Palette paper stack sheets left over and so grabbed a fun patterned sheet and made this card:

How to create a quick and easy Peaceful Pines card

I woke up this morning and realized there are two additional friends I want to send cards to this year and so I decided to share one of my creations with you here on my blog - complete with a list of supplies and measurements along with a video tutorial for my Peaceful Pines card idea.

Ink: Crumb Cake

Paper and cutting dimensions:
          Whisper White: 11 x 4 1/4"; 2 1/2" square; 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"; 3 1/2" x 3" (for tree)
          Crumb Cake: 2 6/8" square
          Candy Cane Lane designer series paper (141981): 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"; 1/4" x 2 1/2"
          Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper (135315): scrap 

Accessories: Perfect Pines framelits, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Tear & Tape adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL adhesive

Send an amazing colorful banner Christmas card this year

The Banners for Christmas is the perfect set to add a pop of creativity to your Christmas cards this year. And I have a fun sample idea to share with you today:

Banners for Christmas card

Supplies: 

• Stamp Sets – Banners For Christmas  (142806)
• Card Stock/DSP  – Very Vanilla (101650); Cherry Cobbler (119685); Garden Green  (102584); Basic Black (121045);This Christmas Specialty DSP (141628)
• Stamp Pads – Garden Green (126969); Cherry Cobbler (126966); Versamark (102283) 
• Misc. – Blender Pens (102845); Bunch of Banners framelits (141488); Gold Embossing Powder (133457); Heat Tool (129053); Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (141468); Snail Adhesive (104332); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Embossing Buddy (103083)

Measurements:  

• Very Vanilla cut 8 ½” x 5 ½” scored and folded at 4 ¼” for Card base and 2” x 3” and scrap for the banner
• Basic Black 5 ¼” x 4” and 2 pieces cut 2 ¼” x 3 ¼”
• This is Christmas DSP 1” x 3 3/4"
• Cherry Cobbler 5” x 3 ¾” 
• Garden Green 2” x 3”

 

Instructions:

1. Run Cherry Cobbler panel through the Big Shot with the Sparkle Embossing Folder 
2. Layer the Cherry Cobbler with the Basic Black panel and adhere to the Very Vanilla card base
3. Adhere the DSP to the left side of the card front using Snail adhesive
4. Layer the Garden Green panel to the Basic Black panel and adhere to the upper right of the card.
5. Stamp the “mistletoe” in Garden Green onto the Very Vanilla panel and quickly using the Blender Pen, pull the color into the leaves and color the berries with the Blender Pen and Cherry Cobbler ink and adhere to the Basic Black panel and adhere it to the card front off set to the left and slightly lower than the Garden Green piece.
6. Prep a scrap piece of Very Vanilla with the Embossing Buddy and using Versamark ink, stamp the Banner and the Merry Christmas. Coat with the Gold embossing powder and heat. 
7. Cut the banner out with the coordinating banner framelit or fussy cut with your paper snips and adhere across the front of the mistletoe using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

 

How to make a Christmas gift card holder

 We both know that sometimes we end up getting a gift card for that 'hard to buy for' person. So why not make a cute Christmas gift card holder go hold that gift card?

Here's just one of many gift card holder ideas:

Supplies:

• Stamp Set - Wonderful Year (142158)
• Cardstock/DSP - Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper (141981); Whisper White (100730); Real Red (102482); Crumb Cake (120953)
• Stamp Pad - Real Red (126949)
• Misc - Gold Foil Sheets (132622); Tear & Tape Adhesive (138995); Metallics Sequins Assortment (138390); Mini Glue Dots (103683)

 

Measurements:

• Candy Cane Lane DSP - 1 ¼  x 3 ⅞
• Whisper White - 4 x 4 ¼ ; 3 ⅞ x 2 ⅞ 
• Crumb Cake - 4 x 4 ¼
• Real Red - 4 ¼ x 11
• Gold Foil - 3 ⅞ x ¼ 

 

Instructions:

1. Score the Real Red Cardstock at 4 ½, 5 ½, and 6 ½.  Fold in half and then fold the other two creases the opposite direction to make your paper look like an M.
   
   
   
   
2. Apply Tear & Tape Adhesive to the inside top of the M.  Adhere the top of the M together to make a tent. 
3. Open up the card and using the folded closed end, cut a slit 7/16” from each side.  Only cut down to about 3/16”.  Then make a slit in the middle also to make it easier to cut it out.  Your card inside should look like this.  Now let’s work on the front.
   
   
   
   
4. Take the 3 ⅞ x 2 ⅞ piece of Whisper White and stamp the sentiment “Wishing you a Joyful Christmas” from the Wonderful Year Stamp set.  
5. Adhere the stamped white piece to the Crumb Cake piece of cardstock.  Leave 1/16” border.  Adhere the Candy Cane Lane DSP to the bottom half of the same piece of crumb cake cardstock leaving the same border.  There should be 1/16” crumb cake border showing.  Adhere the strip of Gold Foil to cover the seam from the white cardstock and the dsp.  
6. Adhere gold sequins using glue dots.
7. Stamp the sentiment, “...and a new year full of peace and happiness” onto the 4 x 4 ¼ piece of whisper white and adhere it on the inside of the card.
