It's time for a different kind of blog post - one that features some of YOUR burning questions.
Q: Stampin' Up! offers lots of bundles with matching punches or dies. But....do you stamp your images first or do you punch first?
A: I always stamp the image first and then punch (slide the card stock into with the punch upside down so you can see the image centered inside the punch). And if you stamp a bit crooked you can angle the punch to achieve a perfect fit.
The same strategy is used for die-cutting. Stamp first then use the Stampin' Up! Magnetic Platform (#130658) to get perfect alignment around the stamped image when die cutting.
Q: When I ink up and stamp using the new Ombre Stampin' Pads (141609), (141608) and (131611), I get a solid line between the colors. I was wondering how to get a more blended color gradation when stamping?
A: For the best blended results, use a slight back and forth tapping motion when inking up your stamp. This will eliminate any harsh lines between colors and give you the blended look you're going for. To get more from your Ombre Pads use small & greeting stamps on each individual color. Change up the look by stamping on different colored cardstock.
Q: When I tie bows, I have trouble getting them to lie the way that I want. What can I do about this?
A: Mini Glue Dots (103683) are the answer. Using your finger tip, or the point of a Paper Snips (103579), place a Glue Dot underneath the knot. Then carefully push the base of the knot over the Glue Dot until it is laying the correct way.
