Yes, I have to admit I have had the Mini Treat Bag thinlits dies gathering dust in my thinlits box - and why you ask? I thought they were going to be complicated to use and so was avoiding them. GASP. 

But today I gave them a try and OH MY GOSH - how easy and fun to use! I see many, many treat bags in my near future - for party favors, colleague gifts, get well gifts, just because gifts and so much more!

Here's the bag I created, using the Birthday Bash designer series paper and scraps of Tangelo Twist, Crushed Curry and Night of Navy card stock:

Get your crafting groove on with a card map challenge

Each week I try to post a card map and then show you one idea that you can make using that card map. I am a Design Team Member on the Paper Craft Crew and share each week's card map challenge here on my blog.

When I saw the map I knew immediately that I would use Gorgeous Grunge for the background spray but it took me a while to figure out what I would use for the layered images. 

Here's my completed card - using Flower Shop for the main image!

Having a Big Shot and punches makes crafting a breeze, doesn't it!

This past weekend I attended a Stampin' Up! Regional Event with 200 other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. It was one day of business ideas, new catalog updates, swapping cards and other creative projects and, of course, stamping. I had so much fun I thought I would share two event photos with you:

Here is a group of us creating our event make n take - a super cute card idea. All the supplies were cut and ready for us to stamp, layer, cut and accessorize. I love that Stampin' Up! includes cool project ideas at all their events. Some we create and some we take photos of from their display boards. 

Part of our day was drooling over the new Annual Catalog - which should be arriving at your home very soon if you have ordered from me in the past year - and to introduce the catalog to us through the use of a sandwich board. 

So of course at a break I had to slip on the sandwich board for a photo opportunity...right?

Create a wonderful Father's Day card using Guy Greetings

Here's a fun Father's Day card for you to make at home, using the Guy Greetings stamp set:

And here's what you need and how to make it!

Supplies: 

* Stamp Sets: Guy Greetings #137178 $25.95 

* Inks: Memento Black #132708 $5.95 

* Paper: Basic Black #121045 $6.95 , Typeset #133704 $ 12.95, Gold Foil #132622 $3.95 , Very Vanilla Card Stock #101650 $8.50 

* Other: Basic Rhinestones #119246 $4.95, Cherry Cobbler Marker #119681 $3.50 , Black Sharpie 

 

Measurements: 

Black Card Base 4 ¼ x 11 

Vanilla insert for inside of card 4 x 5 ¼ 

Gold Foil 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 

Striped DSP 3 ¾ x 5 

Striped DSP for inside ¾ x 4 ¼ 

Scraps of Vanilla for the car and the banner 

 

Instructions: 

1. Stamp Banner, Car and Husband (or other word) on the 3 ¾ x 5 piece. 

2. Stamp Banner and Car on scraps. Color car and cut out. I didn’t cut the wheels out just the body of the car. Attach to the stamped image with dimensionals. Cut banner out and attach with dimensionals as well. 

3. Color Rhinestones with Black Sharpie and add to card (wait for them to dry) 

4. Assemble Card. 

5. Attach the striped mat to the Black Card Base 

6. Attach the image piece to the Gold Piece and attach to card using dimensionals. 

7. Add strip of striped dsp to the inside bottom of the card

A birthday card guaranteed to make you smile

You know by now that each week I participate in the Paper Craft Crew card challenges and this week was a really fun one for me because I decided to use the Giggle Greetings stamp set. This set is sarcastic, funny, witty and just plain fun (see image below). 

Here's the map I used for my card:

As the image and paper I chose were quite the focal point I decided not to use all the elements in the map, which is perfectly fine. Here's my Giggle Greetings card, also using the circle framelits, Mossy Meadow ribbon and Sweet Dream designer series paper:

Create a quick and easy Zoo Babies card

This is the time of year when all those little bundles of joy are being welcomed into the world so I decided that today's video tutorial would feature a Zoo Babies card idea that uses a fun technique. Butterflies make eye-catching card ideas

I love butterflies. They seem to appear as a positive sign in my life and have for years and so naturally when I see a butterfly stamp set and punches I immediately purchase them. And of course I was delighted that Papillion Potpourri and the butterfly punches are coming back in the 2015-16 Annual Catalog.

I combined this set and Bitty Butterfly punch to make a fun Washi Tape card idea to share with you today:

The washi tape rolls featured no this card come from only one source: Sweet Dreams, seen in the Occasions Catalog. I used my Big Shot and Apothecary Accents framelits (retiring June 2, 2015) for the layer under the butterflies and the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set for the phrase.

One of life's most important moments

Today I want to give you a peek into my life and feature one of the most important moments I have experienced - my son's university graduation. A week ago I travelled many, many miles to celebrate Sam and here's a few photos I took while there:
