Le Rouix

A friend at work asked me to make a Welcome Baby card that is quite unusual from ones that I usually make; one that had the baby's name (Le Rouix) on the inside. I am always up for a challenge and so readily agreed. A second request, much easier, was that she wanted me to use the Zoo Babies stamp set as well. 

It took some major thinking time to figure out how I wanted to make this card. Thanks to my Big Shot, Little Letters thinlits, and some layout planning, I created this card:

 And here's how I designed and created the inside:

Cheer up a good friend with a special card

There are times when a friend falls ill or a friend has a sudden surgery and you wish that you had a special card tucked away for them. Today I have an easy card idea that's super cute too. 

Grab your Gorgeous Grunge, Geometrical (retiring soon), and Something to Say stamp sets and make this card:

 

This card is especially fun as it only uses two stamp sets and ink colors. For my card I used Lost Lagoon and Soft Sky - I got the color ideas from my Color Coach (retiring soon).

Moms are the best so honor her with a special card

And when I say special card I don't mean one that is complicate or super fancy. Moms just love to hear from us, just like we love to hear from our own children. 

So today I have a super easy and very pretty card idea, one that is really for a birthday but can easily be changed into a Mother's Day card by simply changing the phrase on the card:

Why is this card so easy? It uses the Painted Blooms designer series paper as a card front layer and all I did was stamp a phrase, die-cut it out and add it, along with a stamped and punched butterfly as an embellishment.

Cute baby card idea for a special little person

Do you need a quick and super cute baby card for a special little person in your life? Try this Zoo Babies card! I got this idea using a fun Paper Craft Crew map:

I loved the map and thought that I would keep my card fairly simple:

 

 

 Supplies: 

• Stamp Sets – Zoo Babies (130456); Something to Say (134180)
• Card Stock – Whisper White (100730); Baked Brown Sugar (131296); Coastal Cabana (131297)
• Stamp Pads – Baked Brown Sugar (131174); Coastal Cabana (131175)
• Punches - Word Window (119857), 1” square 124094), Postage Stamp (122334)
• Misc - Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine (135638) SNAIL adhesive (104332), Glue Dots (103683) 

Measurements:  

• Coastal Cabana 11 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
• Whisper White 2 1/2 x 3 1/2
• Baked Brown Sugar 1/2 x 5 1/2, 3 1/2 x 2
• Coastal Cabana Baker’s Twine 2 pieces: 6”, 5”  

Instructions: 

1. Stamp monkey three times across Whisper White card stock and punch using 1” square punch. Punch three Postage squares from Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Attach using SNAIL.
2. Adhere long piece of Coastal Cabana Baker’s Twine across Baked Brown Sugar strip.
3. Adhere Baked Brown Sugar strip across front of card. Adhere monkey image above. 
4. Tie bow from second piece of Coastal Cabana Baker’s Twine and adhere to front of card.
5. Stamp greeting; punch using Word Window; adhere to card front.

Supplies:

• Card Stock – Rose Red #102544, Soft Sky #131203, Blackberry Bliss #133675, Whisper White #100730
• Stamp Pads- Blackberry Bliss #133642
• Misc. – Painted Petals Designer Series Paper #137784, Glue Dots #103683, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die #118138, 8x10 frame

 

Measurements:  

• Painted Blooms paper: 8x10 (when cutting this 12x12 page, cut 4” on the bottom and 1” off of each side)
• Rose Red: 2.5” square 
• Soft Sky: 2.5” square
• Blackberry Bliss: 2.5” square
• Whisper White: 2.5” square

   

Instructions:

1. Stamp the desired sentiment from Trust God on top of the paper.
2. Place the 8x10 flower and stamped image in your frame.
3. Run the 2.5” square pieces (one at a time) thru the Big Shot using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die.
4. Attach the butterflies on the frame with glue dots where desired on top of glass.  Stack some of the butterflies if desired.
5. That’s it!  Done!

Kick up yer heels with a great card idea

Using the fabulous and fun Bootiful Occasions stamp set! The next time you have a hankering for making a unique card grab this set, your stamp sets and blender pens and make a card like this one:

I used the Stars embossing folder so the background would match the stars on the cowboy boot then used my Circle framelits to die-cut the layers for the card front.

This past weekend I grabbed my bike and went with a few friends back the Keukenhof Gardens, but this time we rode the fields outside the garden gates, right where the flowers are grown.

Easy card idea using Painted Blooms

I am beginning to realize that a lot of my stamping supplies are going to retire at the end of May and so I need to get using them up - to justify new catalog purchases! So when I realized that a friend at was celebrating her birthday I decided to grab my Painted Blooms designer series paper and Sketched Birthday stamp set and make her this card:

This is such a fun technique - using designer series paper as the main focal point on a card - add a phrase and an element (the punched butterfly from Kinda Eclectic) and you are done!
