Moon Lake

And now for something completely different - different is good, right? Introducing Moon Lake, an intriguing stamp set in the new Occasions catalog!

And here's how to make the card above!

Supplies:

• Stamp Sets–Moon Lake (137149-w, 138540-c)
• Card Stock & Paper – Whisper White (100730), Crumb Cake (120953), Soft Sky (131203)
• Stamp Pads – Tuxedo Black Memento (132708)
• Miscellaneous – Ovals Collection Framelits Dies (129381); Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127751); Blendabilities Markers: Wild Wasabi (133624), Soft Sky (133626), Old Olive (130999), Smoky Slate (131005),Crumb Cake (131004); Designer Buttons Neutrals (130031); 1-1/4” Burlap Ribbon (132140), Linen Thread (104199); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Sticky Strip (104294), SNAIL Adhesive (104332) 

Measurements: 

• Card base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, then score in half
• Crumb Cake: scrap no smaller than 4” x 4-3/4”
• Soft Sky: scrap no smaller than 3-1/2” x 4-1/2”
• Whisper White piece that you will stamp on: no smaller than 4-1/4” x 3-1/2”
• Burlap ribbon: about 5-1/2” long 

Instructions – the order of some of these not important

1. Using folded card base, use largest die in Ovals Framelits Dies set and cut out card base. To keep a fold on the left, make sure the folded edge is showing inside the die  about 1-1/2”.
2. Run just the card front through the Fancy Fan TIEF. To do so, put the folder on the card front so it ends right where the card fold is and leave the back of the card piece hanging out the other side of the folder.
3. Die cut the Crumb Cake and Soft Sky ovals that will be your layers.
4. Stamp the boat image onto the scrap Whisper White card stock using the black Memento ink. Color in with Blendabilities. Stamp sentiment.
5. Die cut that white focal point out with an oval and using SNAIL, adhere it to the Soft Sky piece.
6. Tie linen thread through a large neutral button and tie bow.
7. Using Sticky Strip, adhere the burlap ribbon to the Crumb Cake card stock making sure to wrap ends around and adhere to back.
8. Using Dimensionals, attach the focal point white/blue piece atop the Crumb Cake piece – the ribbon will provide support behind the top piece so just put Dimensionals on the edges so they grab onto the Crumb Cake piece.
9. Adhere the white/blue/crumb cake piece to card base using Dimensionals.
10. Using Multipurpose Glue, put a dab on the back of the button piece and position on front. Let dry.

Baby card

Over on my Facebook Business page I have been asking my fans to let me know the kinds of card ideas they'd like me to share with them. In the past couple of weeks I have been sharing Anniversary cards and today it's time to switch it up a bit. 

Today I am sharing a Baby card idea using Zoo Babies, one of the best baby sets Stampin' Up! has ever produced. Here's the card I created:

 

 

 

I also used my Big Shot and brand new Happy Heart embossing folder - which I think adds such a cute touch.

Love is Kindness

Misc. – Big Shot Machine #113439, Magnetic Platform #130658, Ovals Collection Framelits #129381, Sponge Daubers #133773, Pink Pirouette Seam Binding #134574, Pearl Basic Jewels #119247, Scotch Tape

 

Measurements:  

Basic Black - 4-1/4 x 11

Whisper White - 3 x 5, scrap for raised newspaper

Irresistibly Yours DSP - 2 x 4

Pink Pirouette Seam Binding - 20"

 

Instructions:

1.  Cover the words on the stamp with the Scotch Tape and ink with the Memento Tuxedo Black Pad.

2.  Remove Scotch Tape and stamp on the layer of Whisper White, ink again and stamp on the scrap, making sure you get the newspaper.  Cut the newspaper out.

3.  Using the Blendabilities Markers, color the blooms and stems on the large image and color the cut out newspaper.

4.  Die cut the colored image with the third largest oval framelit and attach the newspaper with a Stampin' Dimensional. 

5.  Use the Sponge Dauber and Pink Pirouette ink pad to cover the piece of Irresistibly Yours DSP and attach it to the bottom of the card.

6.  Wrap the Seam Binding around the whole card and tie in a knot.

7.  Add the stamped piece with Stampin' Dimensionals

8.  Add five of the smallest pearls as shown.

Sundays with Sizzix: Berry Basket Die

It has been a crazy week around here punctuated by a dead computer (won't even turn on, ugh) so apologies that I don't have a video tutuorial with my lil voice in the background.

Painted Petals

Today I have another gorgeous card to share with you, using my Painted Petals stamp set. And did you know that Painted Petals is my stamp set choice for my January Stamps in the Mail club? 

And here's how to make this card:

Supplies:

• Stamp Sets: Painted Petals (138819w, 13882c or 137146p)
• Paper: Rose Red Cardstock (102544), Whisper White (100730)
• Stamp Pads: Rose Red (126954), Wild Wasabi (126959), Early Espresso (126974)
• Misc:  Big Shot (113439), Spring Flower Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (137365), Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon (114319), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430)

           

Measurements:  

• Rose Red : card base 4-1/4" x 11" and 2" x 4-1/4"
• Whisper White: 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" and 4” x 2-1/2”

 

Instructions:

1. Run 2" x 4-1/4" piece of Rose Red cardstock through Big Shot with Spring Flower TIEF. 
2. Attach to folded 4-1/4" x 11" Rose Red card base.
3. Tie 14-15" of Whisper White Organza Ribbon around card front
4. Stamp images onto 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock
5. Adhere to 4" x 2-1/2" piece of Whisper White
6. Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals

Card Map Challenge

I shared with you last week that I am a design member of the Paper Craft Crew and each week a challenge is posted for the design members to use.

Here's a beautiful card to create that adds a bit of Spring to a dull and drab winter day (where I live) - a Butterfly Lotus card!

Measurements:  

Pink Pirouette Designer Series Paper from the stack 3-1/2" x 5" (envelope liner)

Whisper White, Silver Foil Sheet 4x4

 

Instructions:

1.  Run the Silver Foil piece through the Big Shot Machine with the medium Butterfly Thinit. TIP: use one or two dryer sheets under the die to make for easy removal.

2.  Repeat Step 1 with the Whisper White Piece.

3.  Using the Blendabilities Markers (I used the medium shades), randomly color the butterfly.

4.  Attach the two butterflies together at the body and add to the front of the card, fluffing the wings a bit. 

5.  Stamp greeting in Basic Gray ink.

6.  Run Pink Pirouette Designer Series Paper through the Big Shot with the medium sized framelit to create the liner.  Adhere it to the inside of the envelope.
