Merry Christmas to you! Today I am taking my son on an amazing Christmas adventure in Berlin, Germany but in case you took the time to drop by my blog I have an equally amazing project idea to share with you, created by one of Stampin' Up!s staff writers.

Here's what she writes about this super cool Gingerbread House:
I’ve been admiring papier-mâché houses in craft stores for some time; whenever I walk by one, I think: “I could make something with that.” Then I lose my nerve. Finally I just decided to go for it . . . and it wasn’t hard at all!
First, I covered the house with Kraft Paper—which I adhered using Sticky Strip. Then I covered the roof with Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper and folded punched circles in half to decorate the eaves and rooftop. (You could also make cute “candy wafer” roof tiles in pastel shades using punched cardstock circles.) I made the door using the Ovals Collection Framelits and the Big Shot.
Those of you who have been with Stampin’ Up! for awhile might recognize the beautiful pine tree images in front of the gingerbread house—they’re from our extremely popular Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set. You can find the jolly little Santa image in our new Get Your Santa On Stamp Set, and the vintage greeting is from Watercolor Winter Too.
If you decide to make one of these houses, you might give this embellishment idea a try: create cardstock gumdrops to put around the base of the house . . . but first give them a little sparkle using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Dazzling Diamonds! Or create some icicles to hang from the roof using Silver Glimmer Paper.
Bottom line—this project is easy to put together and takes about two hours. And it would be a super-fun family activity for a snowy December evening!
Once I finished the gingerbread house, I still had some creative energy left and looked around to see what else I could make. I discovered a Stampin’ Up! product I haven’t used yet this year—the adorable Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack. The designs and colors are so much fun! The paper stars on the following three projects were made with it (and with the fabulous Stars Framelits Dies). The last project would also be really cute for Independence Day (minus the “Season’s Greetings,” of course)!
Come on back tomorrow as I have some sneak peek cards using new Occasions Catalog products (did you get your catalog in the mail yet?)
