Kinda Eclectic birthday card

This week I had a fun event to go to - a birthday celebration for a friend at work. I wanted to make a card for her and so grabbed my Kinda Eclectic stamp set:

 

This is such a fun, vintage stamp set that can be used for so many occasions, including birthdays. Here's the card I made for my friend:

Card Map

I love a good Card Map - each one I try gives me such inspiration to make not only one card but usually more than one in one creative setting. Here's a recent card map that I saw - quite an unusual layout for me:

 

So I decded to use up some Motley Monsters designer series paper and card stock scraps I had lying around. Combined with the Good Greetings stamp set and Bitty Banners framelits I created this card using the above map:

Sundays with Sizzix: Bright & Beautiful bundle

Starburst Sayings

I always keep my eyes open for cards that are very different in design. I recently say a layout quite similar to the one I used for this Starburst Sayings card:

 

To make the vertical strips I used my Tape It stamp set and some Washi Tape from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Accessory Pack. I even used Washi Tape on the clothespin!

For All Things card

I hope you make thank you cards and mail them to friends and family all year long rather than just wait for Thanksgiving to arrive. And today I have a really pretty card to share with you, using the For All Things stamp set:

Blackberry Bliss Cardstock

Instructions

1. Fold the Sahara Sand Cardstock in half to create the card.
2. Tear the bottom of the 4-5/8" x 3-3/8" Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to create a distressed edge and adhere it to the card.
3. Stamp the leaf images in Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake, and Crushed Curry ink on the 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" Watercolor Paper. Spritz the stamped images with water. Stamp "For you" in Crumb Cake ink under the leaf images.
4. Ink a wet Aqua Painter using the Blackberry Bliss pad, then tap the Aqua Painter on your finger over the card to spatter ink onto the stamped Watercolor Paper.
5. Tear the Watercolor Paper to create a distressed edge and adhere it to the card.
6. Stamp the banner shape in Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Stamp "Grateful" in Crumb Cake ink on the Crushed Curry banner shape. Cut out the banner shape and adhere it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
7. Tear a 1-1/2" x 1/2" piece from a sheet of Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper (Soft Suede diamond pattern). Adhere it to the card.
8. Adhere a 2" strip of Color Me Autumn Washi Tape (Blackberry Bliss) to the front of the card.
9. Thread Linen Thread through the Gold Basic Metal Button and adhere it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

• Stamp Pads – Early Espresso Pad #126974
• Misc. – Garden Green and Early Espresso Markers, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Trim the Tree Paper Stack #135824, WoodGrain Embossing Folder #127821, Big Shot

Measurements:  

•   Whisper White 4 ¼ x 11
•   Trim the Tree paper stack  4 x 5 ¼
•   Cherry Cobbler 1 ½ x 5
•   White Image Piece 3 ¼ x 4 ¼ 
•   Scraps of white for the pine cones 

Instructions: 

1. Adhere Trim the Tree Designer Paper to white Card Base
2. Ink Up stamp Garden Green for the pine and Early Espresso for the branch
3. Huff on it and stamp on larger white piece
4. Stamp two Pinecones and cut out.
5. Run Cherry Cobbler Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder…attach to the designer paper (in the center)
6. Place Dimensionals on the back of the image piece to pop it up. 
7. Pop up the pinecones and add the Seam Binding Bow. 

 

World Traveler Digital Photobook

Ronald McDonald House

Did you know that 2014 is the 40th Anniversary of the first Ronald McDonald House? Here's a picture of the original House in Philadelphia that started it all!

For All Things thank you card

One of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog in the For All Things stamp set. The images make such a simple yet beautiful card, such as this one!

 

Supplies:

Stamps: For All Things #135152 Wood or #135155 Clear - Holiday Catalog, Lots of Thanks #129687 Wood or #129690 Clear 

Paper: Whisper White #100730, Basic Black #121045

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black #134576

Accessories: Big Shot Machine #113439, Magnetic Platform #130658, Striped Scallop Thinlit #133734, Basic Black Baker's Twine #134576, Stampin' Dimensionals #104430, 2-Way Glue Pen #100425, Waxed Paper

Measurements:

Whisper White: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, 3-3/4 x 5, 3 x 2-1/4

Basic Black: 3-1/4 x 2-1/2

Basic Black Baker's Twine: 33"

Instructions:

1.  Run the Striped Scallop Thinlit and the 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot Machine using the Magnetic Platform.  TIP: place a piece of Waxed Paper between the die and the card stock for easier removal.

2.  Use a 2-way Glue Pen to add adhesive to the back of the die cut and attach it to the

3-3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White, trim off the excess.

4. Wrap the Black Baker's Twine around the scallop layer as shown and secure to the back, adhere it to the main card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

5.  Stamp image and greeting on the small piece of white in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, adhere to the Basic Black layer and attach to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Festival of Trees

Have you seen the cool new  Festival of Trees bundle? It is one of the most popular products in the new Holiday Catalog and I absolutely LOVE it!

 

Super cute, right? I have made so many cards using this bundle and will show you the projects I have created over the next few weeks.

You don't have to have a lot of colors to make a beautiful card. My advice is to purchase a pack of designer series paper that you love and get the ink pads to match the colors in the paper. You will be good for weeks of crafting!
