World Traveler Digital Photobook

I have another World Traveler Digital Photobook page to share with you! It highlights a rainy day trip to a local museum called the Humanity House. Little did I know the profound effect this museum visit would have on me and will have for many years to come. I snapped a few photos inside both of the experiences and decided to make two pages for my photobook.

Card Maps

Today I have a very special Card Map to share with you. It is part of a special website, Paper Craft Crew, that belongs to one of my downline (team members). Pam shares a new card map each week and then invites her guest artists, of which I am proud to be one of, to create and share a card using that map.

As soon as I saw Pam's sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to create, right down to the embellishments! And no, that doesn't happen very often to me either. Framelits make card making so easy, don't they - for phrases and embellishments. 

And here's my submission - shhh, don't tell because this is part of next week's challenge!

Sweet Essentials

Do you realize that you only have one more week to purchase all retiring products before the Annual Catalog retires? And that some sets and accessories are already sold out so you have very little time left to get retiring products still on your wish list.

It is starting to hit home here and I am trying to use my retiring stamp sets one last time and decided that on today's card I would use Sweet Essentials.

I also used a piece of Watercolor Wonder designer series paper as a focal point. This card is quick and easy to create but still is very pretty with the added ribbon and butterfly embellishment.

One Card, Three Ways

Have you ever created a card, sat back and thought - I wonder what I can do to bump it up a notch? That happened to me this week when I used my retiring Tag It stamp set and I ended up with one card, three ways!

Here's the first and original card I made:

Pretty cute, right? But also, pretty plain in my eyes. I do love the Chalk Talk framelit die-cut and the bright yellow balloons, but it just wasn't enough for me. So I dug through my embellishment drawer (my promise to myself is to use up my embellishments so I can buy new ones from the Annual Catalog!) and added a touch to my card.

Yes, I know those Googlie Eyes are retired but I kept them anyway because I love them so much! That one eye added another nice touch to my card but I still wasn't satisfied. 

So I dug around some more and here's my third and final touch!

Yes, that ribbon did it. Added a final and impressive touch to my card and now it is ready to send. 

When you make a card you are not so happy with, don't put it aside. Dig around through your embellishments, dust them off and put them to good use. Then contact me for the new Annual Catalog which goes live June 1st!

Zoo Babies

In the past few days I decided it was time to dust off my embellishments and start using them before the new Annual Catalog goes live on June 1st and my pre-order arrives. One embellishment I seldom use is my Chevron ribbon so in the past few days every card I created uses this ribbon.

Today's card uses the Zoo Babies stamp set, Basic Black Chevron ribbon and Brights Color Collection paper stack to make this baby card:

Pretty cute, right? And now I challenge you to do the same thing as I did to make my recent cards. Open that embellishment drawer, dust off your embellishments and get using them on your next five cards. 

You just never know what you will create!

Yippee Skippee

Yippee Skippee! Today's card is super easy to make and requires very few products:

 

I started this idea by going through my stack of retiring Kaleidoscope designer series paper (just saying: you won't want to miss this year's New Catalog Open House and retiring products sale!) and choosing a few strips I had lying around.

Next, I punched 8 paper hearts using patterns that looked cool in the heart shape. I adhered the hearts to a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using  Stampin' Dimensionals after I stamped the Yippee Skippee phrase. I punched one heart next to the phrase so the card base would peek through. After I adhered the Whisper White layer to the card front using some more Stampin' Dimensionals, I added the Vintage Faceted button with Whisper White Baker's Twine bow.

And voila! The card is done. 

Have a look at your punches and try this idea the next time you craft. This layout idea can create great baby cards, birthday cards and greeting cards depending on the punch you use. Happy card designing!

Four You

This past week I learned a cool new paper technique using designer series paper so grabbed my Four You stamp set and Kaleidoscope designer series paper to make this cute card:

 

 

There are so many uses for designer series paper beyond strips on cards. You can make cute bows like the one of my card, to make envelope liners, beautiful boxes and so much more.
