World Traveler - at the movies

I have tried to be pretty consistent about sharing pages from my World Traveler digital scrapbook and as each day seems a new adventure I love to have the ability to immediately scrapbook events in my life.

Last weekend I was invited out to the movies and it was such a different experience that I created a This and That journal page and I added a new page to my World Traveler scrapbook:

The World Traveler digital scrapbook comes as a kit so all the pages are laid out as templates, complete with photo and journal boxes. You can either keep them as is and drag and drop your photos in or you can resize, add or delete photo boxes and embellishments as you wish. On this page I simply added two additional photo boxes and added my journaling to complete my page. Quick, easy and a fun memory to look back upon.

This & That Journal

This page features a recent experience - my first visit to a movie theatre in the Netherlands. Quite a different experience from the US and Canada. This chain of theatres has a program that describes the different movies playing each week so I grabbed one to cut up and use on my page. I also included two seat tickets showing the movie I saw.

Lots of Thanks meets Gorgeous Grunge

If you are like me you have lots of paper scraps laying around and you'd feel too guilty recycling them. Today's card idea shows you how to use those scraps creating a cute card using Lots of Thanks and Gorgeous Grunge:

This is a clean and simple card to create and adds some cool elements: the Sweet Sorbet circle and flower embellishment and the Square Lattice embossed strip. Add one stamped element in the backgroup to break up the layers visually and you have a cool card to send to a friend (or customer!).

Geometrical gone Retro Fresh!

A couple of days ago I shared a very quick and easy card for you to create using your Label Something stamp set and scrap Retro Fresh designer series paper. And the best part is that it doesn't look quick and easy to someone who doesn't make cards!

Today I have a very similar card (it's a card map!) using a different phrase suggestion from the Geometrical stamp set, colored with coordinating marker colors:

This card is a series of layers and a great way to use up your scraps. Find a phrase that suits your style to add at the bottom and attach it with Stampin' Dimensionals. The ribbon embellishment adds that final touch and your card is ready to mail, sell (yes you can sell cards you make if you follow Stampin' Up!s "Angel policy" or give away!

Why not try this layout idea the next time you sit down to craft? It's easy and you end up with a cute card too.

My Digital Studio World Traveler - next page

Washi Tape

Isn't Washi Tape fun to create with? Yesterday I posted about the Retro Fresh product suite and after I did that I decided to keep on creating using the suite with a focus on the Retro Fresh Washi Tape. It is fun to use Washi Tape in many different ways - and it makes a great background embellishment. 

Here's what I mean:

 

This card took only minutes to make. First I added the four strips of Retro Fresh Washi Tape. Then I stamped and cut out the 'hello' phrase from the Perfect Pennants stamp set. Third, I die-cut a Coastal Cabana banner using my Banners framelits and Big Shot and finally I added the flower embellishment.

Know where that flower came from? I got a pack of them for FREE by placing a qualifying order through Sale-a-bration - it's part of the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack. (it's actually part of a peel and stick embellishments sheet!)

Retro Fresh

One of the best ideas Stampin' Up! came up with this past year is to design collections to help us with our crafting and one of my faves in the Occasions Catalog is the Retro Fresh product suite! There are over 5 different coordinating products in this suite - here are just three of them:

I love the colors in the Retro Fresh product suite: Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla. It is so easy to design a card by simply matching colors and then choosing a stamp set image to add in!

Here's a card I made to mail to my son - he's over a thousand miles away from me at University and so I try to mail him a card each week to tell him about my adventures here in The Hague. This is a clean and simple card in design and uses up some left over Retro Fresh designer series paper:

 

The stamp set I used for the phrase is Label Something - stamp and punch out using the Ticket Duo Builder punch!
