Easy Trick or Treat Bags

Happy Halloween! I have a great craft idea for you to try today, thanks to Lindsey, a senior staff writer at Stampin' Up! - Easy Trick or Treat Bags!

If you're looking for a last-minute trick-or-treat bag, give Lindsey's idea a try:

Step 1:  Use MDS to create some creepy Halloween images. Most of the artwork came from the Fright Night Ensemble— her new favorite!

Step 2: In MDS, go to Insert > Insert Duplicate Page Mirrored. 

Step 3: Export your images as JPEG files. 

Step 4: Print the reversed images on iron-on transfer paper and cut around the images. 

Step 5: Follow the instructions that came with the iron-on transfer paper to iron the image onto your bag. 

Get your canvas bags at a craft store. But if you have pillow cases at home—this project just got even easier!

Team Meeting Swaps

This past Sunday was my October team meeting and we had a lot of fun together! We celebrated business and personal successes, we learned new crafting tips, shared projects we had made and learned two new stamping techniques to teach you!

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of the Window Sheet to 6-7/8" x 10". Score lengthwise from the top of the sheet at 2-1/2", 4-3/4", 7-1/4", and 9-1/2".
2. Cut a piece of White Vellum Cardstock to 6-7/8" x 2-1/2".
3. Punch circles from Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, and Soft Sky Cardstock and Gold Foil Sheets using the 1/2" Circle Punch. Put the circles between the White Vellum Cardstock piece and the third section of the scored Window Sheet. Sew around the White Vellum Cardstock to keep the circles inside.
4. Fold the Window Sheet at the score lines and adhere the ends to make a sleeve for the box.
5. Fill the box with the treats and slide the Window Sheet sleeve over the box.
6. Using the Big Shot and the Expressions Thinlits Dies, cut "Thankful" from the Gold Foil Sheets.
7. Adhere the "Thankful" to the front of the Window Sheet sleeve.
8. Stamp "For you" in Crisp Cantaloupe ink on Whisper White Cardstock.
9. Using the Big Shot and the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, cut out the stamped "For you."
10. Tie a strip of Whisper White Baker's Twine around the box.
11. Adhere the "For you" banner over the twine.
12. Adhere a 1" strip of washi tape over each edge of the Window Sheet sleeve to secure the sleeve to the box.

My Digital Studio Desktop Calendar

Last week I shared a photo of the front of my 2013 My Digital Studio Desktop Calendar and share this information with you:

Each year I make a desktop calendar for my family as a present and this year I decided to add one more to my order just for me! My previous calendars were created using a variety of papers, colors and embellishments but this past year I used only one designer series paper "pack" for the entire calendar and added different embellishments on each page to add interest. And I liked my 2013 My Digital Studio Desktop Calendar so much that I am going to make one for 2014 too.

Instructions

To create the cover:

1. Cut the flaps off several Whisper White Square Envelopes.
   Tip: We used nine in our little book. You choose how many pages you want in your book.
2. Stamp the woodgrain background in Crushed Curry ink on the front of one envelope. Add splashes of Pumpkin Pie ink to front of envelope using an Aqua Painter.
3. Stamp the woodgrain background in Early Espresso ink on the back of the envelope.
4. Stamp "Thankful for" in Early Espresso Ink on the back of the envelope.
5. Write journaling using a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker under the "Thankful for" image.
6. Punch a scallop circle from Soft Sky Cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the book.
7. Stamp the log image in VersaMark ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Sprinkle Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder over the image and heat emboss it. Adhere the Soft Sky scallop circle.
8. Stamp "Gratitude" in Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Cut out the "Gratitude" image using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and the Big Shot. Adhere the sentiment over the log image.
9. Thread a piece of Linen Thread through the button holes in the Naturals Designer Button. Adhere over the log image.

To create pages and put the book together:

1. Stamp the woodgrain background in Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, or Soft Sky ink on the back of the remaining envelopes.
2. Stamp "Thankful for" in Early Espresso Ink over the woodgrain background on the back of the envelopes.
3. Write journaling using a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker under "Thankful for" image.
4. Adhere the sides of the cover and other envelopes together using strips of washi tape to create the book.
5. Cut a 3-1/4" square of Designer Series Paper for each inside page. Adhere.
6. Cut a 2-1/4" square of Whisper White Cardstock for each inside page. Adhere one to the center of each inside page. Adhere photos over each square of cardstock.
7. Create spine for the book with a strip of washi tape.
8. Fold nine 3" x 6" pieces of Whisper White Cardstock to create nine cards. Place the cards in the envelope openings.
