Ronald McDonald House

Last night was our time at the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill and I wanted to design a card that would be easy for the residents to make but still be eye-catching.

I know from experience that children love to use the Big Shot and watch what it can do to a piece of paper (it's like magic!) and they also love to punch paper. So I put those two together and came up with:

Card Map

This weekend I was looking for a Card Map to use to create a card for my August team meeting. I knew that I didn't want to run a business meeting this month; instead I wanted a stamp camp so my team members would have some samples to help them with their upcoming classes and club meetings. 

I had only one more card to make and was drawing a blank so did what I tell my customers to do! I turned to the bi-monthly publication Stampin' Up! sends out to their demonstrators (filled with amazing ideas, tips, and techniques!) and chose a card in there to be my "map". I realize you don't get this publication unless you join my team but you can easily do the same thing but turning to a page in our fabulous catalogs. 

Here's the card I created using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits and brand new Chevron Border punch:

 Cute right? And now it's your turn! Take the card I created and use it as a Card Map to make your own card at home.

Harvest of Thanks

Last weekend I held my Holiday Catalog Kick-off event and the attendees created two free make-n-takes. Here's one of the cards they made, using the new Harvest of Thanks stamp set. 

I really like the rustic nature to this set and the Apothecary Accents framelits reduced "construction" time significantly. See the ribbon? That is a strip of 7/16" Trim, tied in a knot and the ends frayed for added effect.
