Sundays with Sizzix: Woodgrain Embossing Folder

This week I was beginning to plan for my July Christmas Card Stamp-a-stack and automatically pulled out my Evergreen stamp set (carried over!) and Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I decided to use both to make this week's video tutorial, just to show that these two products can be very versatile for other occasions too.

My Digital Studio Photobook Template

Yesterday I spotted a brand new download for My Digital Studio - it’s a Photobook Template for Convention 2013!

So of course I had to download and it and start working on my Convention scrapbook. This template is 8x8 and the best part is that every page in the book is designed and ready for me to drag and drop my photos into the appropriate boxes. This kind of template is perfect for the beginner digital designer and for someone like me who is so busy I don’t have time to create each and every page of the book.

Here’s one of the page templates that I will be using:

Does using a Photobook Template mean I can’t add elements, stamps and journaling to each page if I want to do so? Absolutely not! This digital kit comes with LOADS of extras to add to my pages which I will likely do once I get home and get my photos into place. But if I chose not to add additional elements, each page will perfect as is as you can see from this photo.

Perfect Blend #2

I can't get enough of the Perfect Blend stamp set although it took me a while to get some inspiration to create!

Last fall at a fundraiser to raise money for underserved women who have cancer, I met the owner of a brand new start-up coffee bean business. Joe had asked me at the time if we had coffee bean or coffee cup stamps and I was so sad to advise him that we did not.

Yesterday I located Joe's business location and dropped by to show him three cards I had created using Perfect Blend. He liked the designs and indicated he might want to purchase some card sets as we get closer to the holiday season.

This past Tuesday I posted one of the cards I created using Perfect Blend. Here's Perfect Blend card #2:

I used Baked Brown Sugar and Crumb Cake to make this cute card. It's less formal than Tuesday's card which shows the versatility of this fun stamp set.

Perfect Blend

The Perfect Blend stamp set has been sitting on my crafting table for over a week now and I have have struggled with card ideas using this cute set. Until yesterday. Then all of a sudden an idea came to me after I noticed that the Chevron embossing folder closely matched one of the patterns in my In Color Paper Stack.

Here's the card I created:

After I embossed the card front using the Chevron folder and added the paper strip the rest was easy. I think the Baker's Twine bow was the finishing touch, don't you? And in case you were wondering I heat embossed the phrase to help it stand out and to add a little shine to the card front. 

If you are a fellow coffee-holic then you need to add Perfect Blend to your stamp collection. You can bet this won't be the only card I create using this fun stamp set!

Before I reveal the Best of 25 stamp set for July, I think it is time to share what this promotion is all about.

Card Map & Zoo Babies

Yesterday I participated in a Stampin' Up! demonstator chat & challenge where we were given a Card Map to use for creating a card. I decided to use Zoo Babies - I'm totally taken with this stamp set!

Here's the Card Map we were challenged to use:

When I saw the tag on the front of the card I immediately thought of the Chalk Talk framelits!

 

After that, everything fell into place. Here's my Zoo Babies card!

 

I love Marina Mist and Smoky Slate together on a card, and the Chevron Ribbon (did you know I have a Chevron Ribbon share happening right now?) adds that final embellishment touch on the card.
