Zoo Babies

Here's a stamp set that every stamper ooh's and ahhh's about when she first lay eyes on it: Zoo Babies!

Zoo Babies arrived this week and I had to make a card using it right away. This is the time of year that we welcome lots of new little ones into our world. And what better way to say "Welcome, Baby" than with a cute baby animal card.

I wanted a unique layout idea and found one I like that was quite unusual so I decided to give it a try:

The phrase comes from Banner Greetings which is a hostess stamp set - you can earn it for free, along with other Stampin' Up! products by hosting a party or private class this year.

My Digital Studio

Today I have a fun My Digital Studio card to share with you. This card actually does double duty for me; it is a way to highlight My Digital Studio but it is also a card to send to my family back home in Canada!

The digital brush stamp I used on the card is called "Canada Day" and is the perfect Maple Leaf image to draw focus to the center of the card. The designer comes with the program - Real Red grid paper. I added some cute text at the bottom, added a shadow highlight to the Maple Leaf and, presto! The card is done -  and took me no more than 10 minutes to create!

June Paper Pumpkin

Last week I showed you a sneak peek at the June Paper Pumpkin kit, called Hello to You:

I have had some time to play with this fun new kit and LOVE the cards that can be made. I was quite suprised when I realized that the card front has hexagonal holes in the front! Can you see them in the photo below?

And here's what the card looks like when it is closed - I used the heart stamp and Small Heart punch to so you can see these cute embellishments on the inside of the card:

My Digital Studio

I can't think of a more important project that to scrapbook your newborn photos and this past week Stampin' Up! announced a brand new download for My Digital Studio called Memory Milestones!

Clean & Simple Card

Everyone once in a while I go through a Clean & Simple Card kick and this week is one of those times. And the interesting part of my focus is that I think I love these cards more than any other I have created in a long time. 

There's something about Clean & Simple cards that appeal to me. I guess it is that the beauty of each design has to stand on its own. I am always inspired when I see other Clean & Simple cards and love taking a look at my own stamps to see what I can create that will follow the layout I spotted. 

Here's a prime example of a Clean & Simple card layout:

I used Label Love, a Pear Pizzazz button, some Whisper White Baker's Twine, and Gingham Garden designer series paper. For an added touch I used my Simply Scored to create three embossed vertical lines to add some interest to the card front.

Sketched Birthday Meets Card Map

This week I decided to try a Card Map that was a bit different for me as it has two large patterns from the Quatrefancy paper on the front that takes me outside my comfort zone. I decided to use Sketched Birthday for my stamp set so I could pull the colors from the paper into the cake image using my Blender Pens.

First here's, the card map I used:

And here's my card, using the above map:

The nice part about using a card map is that it gives you beginning inspiration and you can take that idea and add your own twist, like I did with my round cake image and placement of the phrase. Mosaic Punch

Although I am not really into punch art, today I created a fun card using my Mosaic Punch! This idea came about as I was participating in a webinar last night with Stampin' Up! We were going through the upcoming Holiday Catalog (it's FABulous!) and the commentator made reference to something about the Mosiac Punch and as I looked at it online I saw this idea in my mind:

This flower can easily be created using leftover scraps from your cardstock. Most of you know that I am a scrap-a-holic and can't throw out bits and pieces of cardstock after a club meeting or class. To those of you who laugh at me and my bags of scraps - take this! I used up some Daffodil Delight scraps and am very proud of myself!

Now it's your turn - have a new look at your punches and see what you can create outside the box!
