Inspire your Heart with Art Day!

Yes there is such a day and today is it: Inspire Your Heart with Art Day! And there is such truth in it too - I feel good when I craft. I relax, I enjoy the quiet, I feel inspired, I feel satisfied and I love to give my projects to others because I know it makes them feel good too. 

Tomorrow Sherry is hosting a Stampin' Up! party and I have two beautiful cards for her guests to create. Both are quite simple but very pretty none-the-less. I hope you realize that cards don't have to be elaborate - simple is good. Here's one of the cards Sherry's guests will make, using the Just Thinking single stamp and Honeycomb embossing folder in the Spring Catalog:

- two colors (Midnight Muse & Whisper White)

- one embossing folder

- paper snips & adhesive

- two embellishments: Rhinestone Jewels and Whisper White Organza Ribbon

And that's it. I could (and likely will!) make a stack of these cards to use well into the year.

In one of my recent video tutorials, I pointed out that Stampin' Up!s Spring Catalog contains several different products suites, one of the being More Amore (pg 10 -13).

Ronald McDonald House

Tonight is my January time at the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill and I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of the families staying there, if only for a few hours this evening. 

It is a bit of a challenge to design a card for all ages and stamping abilities but I do know that everyone can punch images! So I designed this card using Bloomin' Marvelous:

This is a clean and simple card idea - a few punches, a bit of embossing and two stamps and the card is ready to assemble and send!

My Digital Studio

I had such a great time at Stampin' Up!s Leadership conference and the most exciting part for me was being asked to present to my fellow demonstrators on how I use My Digital Studio. So today I want to share a card idea using MDS:

My Digital Studio is an amazing digital paper crafting program and the possibilities are endless for its uses. I have been crafting with MDS for over two years and am still amazed at what I can create each time I sit at my computer. I have complete freedom to create from scratch, use a template or just use a combination of photos or nothing else.

Anything but a Card Club

Tonight my Anything but a Card Club meets to make three different 3-D project ideas. This group loves to make cards and scrapbook pages too but asked me to create this unique club idea to learn how to projects other than cards and pages and to show them how to get more mileage from their Stampin' Up! products.

And I jumped on the idea because I, too, love to make 3D projects to give as gifts to my friends, family, Stampin' Up! team and colleagues at work! 

Our January club theme is Valentine's Day and here is one of the projects they will make, using the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and corresponding framelits (you can save 15% on the Hearts a Flutter bundle!):

This project theme can easily be changed out for a variety of occassions, such as baby shower favors, Halloween, Christmas, Easter and much more! Change the stamp set and colors to match any project idea you want to create. Grab our 1 x 8" Cello bags, pop in your favorite candy and create a topper to suit your theme. For this project I used the Delightful Dozen stamp set for the oval phrase, a scrap Red Glimmer paper heart and some Cherry Cobbler scallop dots ribbon strip.
