Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween decorations, stamp sets and accessories using Stampin' Up! products and so when thinking about today's blog post I knew exactly which stamp set I was going to use! Frightening Feline was on the first Holiday catalog order that I placed and I have used it a lot in the past month.

So I could let Halloween go by without one more tribute to this super cute stamp set:

This nice part about the Howlstooth and Scaringbone paper is that I can continue to use it all year long - did you notice that although it uses "Halloween colors", there is not one image on any of the paper in this pack that even hints at Halloween?

Today I want to share my team swap card for tomorrow's October team meeting, using the Gently Falling stamp set and Apothecary Accents Framelits. If you haven't learned about two-step stamping yet I will show you how to use solid art stamps along with line art stamps to add details to stamped images.

Today I have a beautiful project idea created by one of Stampin' Up!s amazingly creative design artists: a Sending Christmas Wishes Treat Box!

And here's how to make this at home - try changing up the colors and papers to make your box idea:

Sending Christmas Wishes Treat Box

Stamps Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set  Distressed Dots Background Stamp Paper  Baja Breeze Card Stock  Whisper White Card Stock  Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack Ink  Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad  Island Indigo Classic Stampin' Pad  Lucky Limeade Classic Stampin' Pad  2011-2013 Stampin' Write Markers Accessories & Tools  Lucky Limeade 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon  Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine  Early Espresso Baker's Twine  Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons  Merry Minis Punch Pack  Big Shot  Snow Flurry Bigz Die  Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die  Wooden dowels

Instructions

1. Stamp the Distressed Dots background in Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White Card Stock (8-1/2" x 5-1/2"). Die cut the box using the Big Shot and the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die. Assemble the box.
2. Wrap a 10-1/2" piece of Lucky Limeade 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon around the Fancy Favor box.
3. Adhere a 3" x 1/2" piece of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper over the ribbon.
4. Cut snowflakes out of 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" pieces of Baja Breeze Card Stock and Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper using the Big Shot and the medium snowflake from the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. Layer the snowflakes and adhere them to the front of the box.
5. Thread a 9" piece of Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine through a Vintage Faceted Designer Button, tie it in a bow, and adhere the button to the center of the layered snowflakes.
6. Stamp the foliage motif from the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade ink on a 3-3/4" x 3/4" piece of Whisper White Card Stock. Stamp the greeting in Island Indigo ink next to the foliage. Fishtail one end of the card stock and dot around the edge with the Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Marker. Punch a star from Cherry Cobbler Card Stock using the Merry Minis Punch Pack, adhere the star to the banner, then adhere the banner around a wooden dowel.
7. Wrap a 4" x 1-1/4" piece of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper around a wooden dowel and adhere the ends together. Fishtail the end.
8. Fill a 6" x 8" Cellophane Bag with treats. Tie the bag with Early Espresso Baker's Twine, slide the dowels into the bag, and put the bag in the Fancy Favor box.

My Digital Studio Calendar

Last year I created a My Digital Studio desktop calendar as a Christmas gift for my family back home in Canada. And of course I had to print one for me too! I made each month different in design which makes it fun to turn the page when a new month happens.

When designing a calendar page, the month template is selected and once it is placed on the page the rest of the design is wide open to play with: designer papers, stamp sets and other elements within My Digital Studio 2.

Carry On, part two

Remember the other day I got a card in the mail from my customer, Karen, using the Carry On stamp set?

I had had just gotten my own Carry On stamp set and Karen's card made me want to make my own. I carved out some free time this past weekend to use a card map that I had tucked away and made this card:

You know what's really funny? I am not a shopper! Yet I love these two phrases put together and while I was stamping and assembling I thought about all my friends who are shoppers and realized I needed to make many more of these cards to mail out soon.

Although I haven't posted any Project 52 pages recently I am still keeping up on creating My Digital Studio scrapbook pages to keep as fun memories of my life. The page I created last week using this scrapbook map that Stampin' Up! shared on the My Digital Studio website:

 

This scrapbook map caught my eye and I decided to give it a try using some recent photos I took on a weekend trip. Here's my page:

Carry On

Do you know what makes a demonstrator happy (other than a new catalog of course)? Getting a card in the mail from a customer!

And that's what happened yesterday. Last night I  from participated in our 1st Annual Pinkie Promise Fundraiser to support the Lotus Survival Foundation, a local organization that supports underserved individuals before, during and after breast cancer. I came home quite late and when I checked the mail I saw something other than a bill in my mailbox! Here's the card I received, using the hostess stamp set called Carry On:

Isn't that the cutest card? I just received this stamp set myself (demonstrators can earn hostess awards too) but haven't used it yet. After receiving this card now I am itching to stamp with Carry On this weekend!
