Yesterday was my October team meeting and as part of the meeting we participated in a card swap. At the September team meeting we decided to use a card map as our guide for the October meeting. The card map was published in a monthly publication that Stampin' Up! sends to demonstrators - a great support tool with useful articles and additional creative ideas.

Here's the card I created using the card map, using the Gift Givers stamp set:

As you can see this layout is very different than one I would normally create on my own which is what I love about using card maps - they help you see different ways to try when stamping. The colors I chose for my card are Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and I also used the Frostwood Lodge designer series paper and some leftover Silver Glimmer paper.

Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps

Ronald McDonald House, part two

I had a very nice time at the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill last night. There were four Stampin' Up! demonstrators who came to stamp with the families and we all had a great chat with the people we met. I took along my camera and took photos of the cards my fellow "demos" brought so you could see them too.

Here is Nicole's card - the families got to choose whether to make her card with a Halloween theme or a Thanksgiving theme. Clever huh!

Here is Brenda's card. You can pull the string to make the spider climb up the tree. What a creative idea!

And here's Laurie's card. This little treasure is a 3x3 card - perfect for a fall gift tag!

The families (two men came over to stamp!!) at Ronald McDonald House who came to stamp at our tables loved the cards they got to make. And I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and volunteering my time there.

Ronald McDonald House

Tonight is my October time at Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill and this month I had no trouble deciding what the families would make. Just driving around Raleigh in the past week I have seen the leaves changing color and that makes me think about the Gently Falling stamp set.

So last night I stamped a few ideas using Gently Falling and decided this would be the card the Ronald McDonald House families will make:

With just three colors of card stock (Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla) and and two colors of ink (Cajun Craze and Early Espresso), this beautiful card can be created in just minutes.

I will also take Teeny Tiny Wishes along with me tonight so the families can choose the greeting they want to add to the inside of the card so they can customize their card to any occasion they need.

Nature Walk

I have been having so much fun creating Christmas cards in the past few weeks in order to help you decide what you are going to create and mail this year. Project 52 - Week 20

My goodness I am a bit behind aren't I? Did you think I had given up on my Project 52? No way! I am committed to finishing this project but had to wait for things to settle down a bit before getting back in focus.

And it was creating today's page that made me realize how much I have missed My Digital Studio and how much fun it is to create pages to remember years down the road.

So here it is - Week 20!

This is a memory to remember. My BFF's daughter is getting married and we had a blast creating the invites. Stay tuned for Week 21 which will show you the completed invitations!

25 & Counting

Have you seen the super cute stamp set in the Holiday Mini catalog called 25 & Counting? It is a two-case stamp set with stamps numbered 1 through 25 and is essentially designed to create an Advent Calendar. Check out the awesome Advent Calendar on page 36 of the mini. The calendar was created using punches and the Peekaboo Frames die.

Now even though that Advent Calendar is stinking cute, this stamp set can also be used to create holiday cards. Here's one my customers created at my Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack this past Sunday:

 

Isn't it cute? The most difficult part of this card is deciding which stamp to use in each square!
