Faith in Nature

The focus for my Holly Springs card club this week was watercoloring. The club hostess, Helen, requested that one of the projects be a fall card. I decided to use Faith in Nature, one of the hostess stamp sets in the Idea Book & Catalog. There are three beautiful line art images, and a phrase, in this set that are perfect for watercoloring.

For the card below the club members used an Aqua Painter along with More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz and Cajun Craze to add color to the image. The phrase comes from Trendy Trees.

World Card Making Day!

Saturday, October 1st is World Card Making Day!

 

I will be home stampin' up a storm to get ready for Carolyn's Stampin' Up! Halloween workshop on Sunday and as I planned my day, I had a great idea. I am going to open up my Stampin' Spot and invite YOU to drop on by!

Ronald McDonald House

Last night was my September event at the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill. There were four demonstrators who attended, each of us had our own project so the families at the House had four times the fun!

I know that most children LOVE Halloween and so pulled out my Batty for You stamp set to use for my card. I love Batty for You because each image stamps and punches so nicely and can be layered with additional punches for a card front. And pair Batty for You with the Spider Web embossing folder and a bit of "bling" and you get.....this!

The photo was taken as the sun was setting so the beautiful green in the Lucky Limeade paper and corresponding Frightful Sight designer series paper is not as vivid as it is in real life. But I can certainly tell you that this card was a BIG hit at Ronald McDonald House last night.

Sundays with Sizzix: Spider Web Embossing Folder

The Spider Web textured impressions embossing folder makes a great background for a Halloween card. I have used this folder along with the Out on a Limb stamp set to create this cute Halloween card:

12 Weeks of Christmas

Warmest of Wishes

You know when you see a card and you love it so much that you decide to copy it but... partway through you make a few changes and the card ends up your own little creation? Well that's what happened with this card.

This was one of the cards at last week's Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack and everyone loved it! At the last minute I changed out Whisper White and replaced it with Very Vanilla (not shown below) and the card became perfect!

Who would have thought you could use the Framed Tulips embossing folder for a Holiday Card? This card also uses Warmest of Wishes and Curly Cute - try your own version at home or.....

Holiday Gift Ideas

To avoid the stress and sticker shock of the holiday season, I have decided to make most of my holiday gifts this year. And I have a great idea to share with you too!

Last year at Convention I purchased a My Digital Studio project pack to be able to show all of you at my yearly events. One of the pack contents was a 2011 desk calendar. It only took a few weeks before this awesome calendar became firmly planted on my computer desk for me to flip through when chatting on the phone.

A couple of months ago, Stampin' Up! offered a My Digital Studio template for the 2012 desk calendar and I purchased and downloaded it immediately. Whenever I get a few free minutes I work on creating a page or two on the calendar. Here's one of the pages I designed today:

 

Isn't that cute? This took just a few minutes to make using the My Digital Studio brush stamp set and papers that coordinate so well.

I will be offering my 2012 Desk Calendar for sale when I complete the entire design. I will also be offering private sessions with you so you can I can design the perfect desk calendar for your holiday gift needs! We can insert your photos and favorite stamp sets, colors and designer series papers for each and every month - how fun is that? (We can even create two different sized wall calendars!)

Gently Falling

This appears to be Gently Falling week in my Stampin' Spot! I am so taken with Gently Falling that every day I have created a totally different card using the set. This time I added a different touch using the Color Spritzer Tool!

For those of you who don't know how to use a Color Spritzer Tool, I made a short video to show you:

 

 

Now that you have learned to how use the Color Spritzer Tool, here my finished card:

Notice the Stripes embossing folder for the main card front. I used the folder after stamping the surface with leaves using the same color as the card stock: More Mustard.
