Today I want to help you overcome the biggest obstacle I hear you talk about at classes, club meetings, and workshops: TIME. So many of you absolutely love to stamp but just can't seem to find the time in your busy lives.
Well, here's a few ideas to consider:
- Consider every card I post as a potential "card map". Stop looking at the colors and stamp sets, and look just at the layout. If you see a layout you like, sketch it in a notebook for future use. That way when you have the time to stamp, you have your layout all designed for you!
- Have a layout ready to try? Then break it into a sequence: one night cut two or three card backgrounds, the next night cut the layers, the third night stamp and the final night add your accessories and assemble. That way you only have to find a few minutes each night and by the final night you will have three cards ready to use!
- Attend a Stamp a Stack class! Give me two hours and you will leave with 15 cards ready to sign and mail. I will do the design, cut all pieces and organize the accessories. All you have to do is show up, stamp and assemble. (and you'll go home with new sketch ideas for that notebook you started) Check out my Calendar of Events for my upcoming classes - there's even a Stamp-a-Stack in May!
- Are you sitting down for this one? Ok, here it is: get up 1/2 hour earlier a couple of days a week and take time for you to stamp! Yes, that's what I do. This week I tried something new in my morning routine - I don't even turn on my computer to check my email (eek). I stamp and enjoy the silence. And it is amazing what I have accomplished.
- Make a date to stamp. Get your weekly calendar out and book time for you at least once a week to stamp or scrapbook. You fill up your calendar with your family events so why don't you take care of you too?

Oh what a great idea. My kids are all grown up and I had forgotten about the time my son and I spent stamping together when he was quite young. Thanks for that great tip Chellie!

The best thing I ever did was involve my kids in stamping. I get the most done when we all have our stuff spread out on the dining room table and we're all making cards for a birthday or holiday together. They get some great Mommy time and I don't feel rushed or guilty for spending time away from them.
