Cheers to You Card

Stamp sets: Cheers to You, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Card stock: Whisper White (11 x 4 ¼, 5 x 3 ¾, ½ x 4 ¼, scraps), Basic Black (1 x 4 ¼, 4 x 5 ¼)

Ink: Basic Black Classic

Accessories: Wide Oval punch, Decorative Label punch, Punch Pack, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Paper Piercing tool, Big Shot, Platform, Standard Cutting pads, Elegant Lines embossing folder, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, 2-Way Glue pen

All About Stamps

In just a couple of days you will be able to begin ordering from the Occasions mini catalog (yippee!) and as you are making up your wish list for this new mini I have a video from Stampin' Up! for you to watch.

I often have newer stampers ask me: what is the difference between wood mount stamps, noted with a "W" in the catalog and clear mount stamps, noted with a "C"? When I first started stamping there was really no choice for me - I was a wood-mount girl all the way! I had tried some other brands of clear mount stamps and simply did not like or trust their quality. When Stampin' Up! introduced their clear mount stamp about a year ago, so many of my customers were delighted that I knew I had to give them a try too.

Here's a great video, produced by Stampin' Up! that not only explains the difference between wood mount and clear mount, but also how to mount the stamps and use them to make cards:

 

 

Am I a total convert? Not yet, but my clear mount stamp set collection is certainly growing! I love to be able to look through the clear blocks to ensure exact placement of words or phrases.

Happy Boxing Day to all my British and Canadian friends! I am spending quality time with family today and so won't be posting my Sundays with Sizzix video tutorial.

But I won't let you down! Here's a cute box created by the artists at Stampin' Up!. It uses the Big Shot, the Matchbox die and the very popular (so popular it is sold out!) Candy Cane Christmas designer series paper:

Instructions

1. Cut Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper using Big Shot and Matchbox Bigz XL Die, and assemble box.
2. Tie twill tape around box.
3. Apply "A" from Vintage Type Rub-Ons to Mini Vintage Tag. Adhere Pearl Basic Jewel to tag. Tie tag to twill tape.
4. Adhere tag to box using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The artist used different Stampin' Up! products for a fun variation of this technique on our Peace on Earth page. First, she used our Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Series paper as the base. Then, instead of using ink and a brayer for the last step, she covered the card stock generously with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz. When she wiped the excess ink from the embossed image, she also wiped it off the glossy design of the Specialty Designer Series paper, revealing the script background. The result is a wonderfully worn-looking, shimmery image that looks like it was professionally printed!

Instructions

1. Cut tag from Very Vanilla Card Stock using Big Shot and Table Setting Bigz XL Die. 
2. Stamp wreath image in Garden Green ink on Very Vanilla tag after stamping off on a piece of scrap paper. 
3. Stamp "Friend Gifts" in Early Espresso ink on tag using Stamp-a-ma-jig to align letters.
4. Adhere spots of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter to wreath using 2-Way Glue Pen.
5. Cut tab for top of tag from Crumb Cake Card Stock using Big Shot and Table Setting Bigz XL Die. Adhere tab to top of tag, and punch hole using Crop-A-Dile. Tie crochet thread through hole. 
6. Stamp bow in Real Red ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock, cut out, and adhere to tag.
7. Adhere thin strip of Blushing Bride Patterns Designer Series Paper to tag below wreath. Trim tag. 
8. Adhere Rhinestone Basic Jewel to tag.
9. Punch Scallop Trim from Real Red Card Stock, and adhere behind bottom edge of tag.
10. Fan fold Newsprint Designer Series Paper, and adhere behind bottom edge of tag.

Deck the Halls continued...

Don't you absolutely LOVE the Deck the Halls designer series paper pack in the Holiday Mini catalog? I have used most of the sheets in this pack to create cards to mail out this year but was kind of baffled as to what to do with one remaining sheet design until I saw what another demonstrator did using a single sheet from another pack of designer series paper pack.

Today I will feature the remaining two cards I created from this one sheet of paper:

For this card I again used the Word Window and Modern Label punches, Basic Pearls Jewels, and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and Early Espresso card stock strip.

Now you can dig through your designer series paper storage and make cards using a single sheet of paper to make cards like the ones I created above.

Deck the Halls

Don't you absolutely LOVE the Deck the Halls designer series paper pack in the Holiday Mini catalog? I have used all the sheets in this pack to create cards to mail out this year but was kind of baffled as to what to do with one remaining sheet design:

This sheet is stunning but sat in my paper drawer until yesterday when I saw an idea emailed to me from another Stampin' UP! demonstrator. She used a different sheet of paper from another designer series paper pack but when I saw what she created I knew what to do!

I created four completely different cards after carefully cutting up this designer series paper sheet. Here are two of them:

All I added here was the Merry Christmas phrase layer, using Teeny Tiny Wishes, Basic Pearls Jewels, the Modern Label and Word Window punches and a strip of left-over Cherry Cobbler card stock.

 

On this card I again used Teeny Tiny Wishes, my Modern Label punch and Basic Pearls Jewels, added in a couple of layers of card stock and this card was completed in a matter of a few minutes.
