Did you know that you can enter your card and scrapbook projects in your State Fair? Here in North Carolina, there are several craft entry categories for your consideration. Last year I spent some time in the Crafts building and was a bit surprised to see the lack of entries, particularly in the scrapbook categories. So I decided that as the State Fair dates were posted this year, I would write about it on my blog.
North Carolina State Fair
Dates: October 14 - October 24, 2010
Category: Handicrafts and Hobbies (EE)
Entry Form Deadline: Friday, September 24th by 5:00 pm
Exhibits must be at the Fair by Sunday, October 10th at 5:00 or arrive by mail by Saturday, October 9th.
Scrapbooking:
- Limit of 2 entries total per person. All pages must be in page protectors. May submit 1-one page or 1-two page layout
Categories: Heritage; Baby/Kids; Travel/Vacation; Wedding/Anniversary; Celebrations; Holidays; Tribute/Military; Pets.
Rubber Stamping:
- Entries must be in clear envelopes for protections
Categories: Cards - Holidays; Layered; Embellishments; Special Folds; Techniques. Miscellanous - boxes, books, gift wrap, etc. Jewelry - stamped only
And there are age categories too! Professional, Non-Professional, Ages 8 and under and Ages 9 - 15. So if you have a family of rubber stampers and scrapbookers, get those entries in and see if you can win a cash prize for your creativity!
