Here's a different way to use a stamp set to create a background that basically becomes the focal point on your card:
Printed Petals Birthday card
Stamp Set: Printed Petals, Curly Cute
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz
Card stock: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Big Shot, Platform, Standard cutting plates, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Punch pack, Rhinestone Jewels
To create this card, I stamped the Printed Petals flowers randomly all over the Whisper White layer. Then I ran the card stock through the Big Shot inside the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I added the "Happy Birthday" phrase from Curly Cute then stamped, punched out and attached the tiny flower images on the phrase strip. To add a little bling to the card, I added a Rhinestone Jewel to each tiny flower.
