Today is the first official day of Fall and so naturally my thoughts turn to creating fall designs for my cards and scrapbook pages. I have a brand new card club starting tonight in Holly Springs, NC, and three members are brand new stampers! I am so excited to show them what Stampin' Up! is all about and to see the pleasure they will get making the cards I have designed. The club hostess and I decided to focus on Fall and Thanksgiving card ideas since this club meets every second month and our November meeting is later on in the month.
Every time I am designing a card or looking at Stampin' Up! demonstrator art galleries I try not to be swayed by the title or theme of any stamp set. I always try to think outside the box (no pun intended) to get better value for my stamping purchases. Here's one of the cards my new club will be making:
Thoughts & Prayers #113252) was designed to be a sympathy stamp set but the tree image reminded me of Fall. I decided to focus on the In Colors for this card so I used Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Dusty Durango. The In Color markers are perfect for coloring all the leaves on this tree. I love that new Polka Dot ribbon so I am sure my new stampers will too! The Ticket Corner punch and Scallop Edge punch add a nice decorative touch and the stamp set Sincere Salutations finishes it off with the phrase. The next time you decide to create a card, try my out of the box approach!
Would you and your friends like to start your own stamping club in the Raleigh area? If so, email me at [email protected]!
