I can't believe it has been over a week since my last blog posting. I hope you will forgive me as I have been spending time with my family in the frozen north. It has been several years since I have flown home for the holidays and I have been enjoying pajama time putting together puzzles, watching movies, meeting my new grandson, Brady, and visiting the mountains. Speaking of mountains, if you have never visited the Canadian Rockies you must put it on your to-visit list. I spent three days in Canmore, Alberta and while there had a blast on a dog-sled ride. Here's some fun photos of my trip.
Canmore, Alberta
Loving up the lead dogs on my team! (Sorry huskies are only for Disney movies!)
The view from inside the dog sled. Can you say c-c-c-old???
What a handsome fellow my new grandson is - and with personality plus! I will be winging my way home tomorrow (weather willing) so check back soon for some awesome card ideas using the new Valentine's bundle!
OH MY Gosh, is this bundle fantastic! The Love You Much bundle includes: the Love You Much stamp set, Candy Lane designer series paper, and Heart to Heart punch. From today until January 31st, you can purchase the bundle for 20% off!

Can you tell I really like this stamp set? Each image is simple, easy to stamp and makes great cards! I copied this card directly from a display board because I felt it was perfect the way it is. You can't see it in the photo but the bells has Dazzling Diamonds glitter on it which makes a simple but nice finishing touch. I also used the ticket corner punch and the Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon. A five minute card that all my club members have commented on.
I actually passed over this stamp set in the Fall/Winter Idea book and catalog but what a mistake! This card was very easy to make and the layered snowman adds an interesting dimension and allows for the red grosgrain ribbon scarf to tie completely around the neck. The phrase layer doesn't take away from the main image yet adds that final touch. Stamp three times, tie a ribbon, layer and taa-daa! Card done and in the mail.
This card looks more complicated than it actually is. Using layers of cardstock strips and the scallop edge punch can add a nice touch to the basic tree image.
This year I used a lot of the Chit Chat rub-ons on my holiday cards. Easy peasy and makes each card a bit unique!!!
There is just time for one last super cute project idea. Gather the following items and whip several Reindeer Gift bags out in no time at all.
- Top Note and Big Tulipe die and Big Shot - 1/4" Real Red grosgrain ribbon - Large and small oval punches - 1/2" circle punch - white gel pen - Basic Black marker - brads and 1/16" hole punch - stipple brush and Real Red classic ink pad
Here's the Reindeer Gift bag:
And here's a side view:
The photos above show a "boy" reindeer bag. The video below shows how to make a "girl" version:

Here's a quick and easy Christmas card using Stampin' UP!'s Level 2 hostess set called Deer Friends. Grab your punches and designer series paper scraps and create this card in just minutes. The "Merry Christmas" sentiment comes from the Hugs and Wishes stamp set.
On my wild and crazy stamping weekend with 20 other Stampin' UP! demonstrators I had time to create a bunch of different Christmas cards, copying some samples that our lovely hostess had on display. Over the next few days I will post these cards. Some I copied exactly, some I tweaked and one or two are my very own creation. I hope that these cards will provide you with inspiration, whether you copy exactly, tweak to your style or create something brand new based on an idea that sparked your creativity.
This Season of Friendship card was sooo easy to create. The snowflakes are stamped in Versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder to create a beautiful sparkle when in an lighted area. The phrase tag uses the Best Yet hostess stamp set. Aren't you going to miss all the fabulous hostess stamp sets when they retire in January? (sniff, sniff)
You could have picked me up off the floor when Amy, hostess of my December card club, told me that her step-mom and dad were going to join our club meeting Friday evening. YOUR DAD??? Your dad wants to stamp? "Yep", said Amy quite calmly. "Well ... wonderful!" I stammered, and cut another set of card stock.
And what a fun night it was! Dawn and Don (hehe) were fun to stamp with and Don kept right up with the rest of us women as we embossed and water colored to create three cool holiday cards. Of course I used glitter and you know how that gets everywhere but that didn't phase Don - he added touches to his card that none of us thought to!
I must say I had a great evening and would invite Don (and any other brave male stamper) into to my Stampin' Spot anytime!
I was unable to post my video on Thursday last week so combined two postings in one this week! Here are two photos of the Reindeer Scallop basket you will be making; a front view and a side view. The video announces a brand new bundle available to you on December 23rd!
Gather together the following to create today's project:
- Big Tulipe die - Scallop circle die - Creamy Caramel 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" (for Scallop Circle die) - Chocolate Chip 5 1/4" x 6" (for Big Tulipe die) - 1/2" cirlce punch: two Whiper White circle, one Close to Cocoa circle - 1/4" cirlce punch: two Basic Black circles - Wide oval punch: one Close to Cocoa oval - Scallop circle punch: one Chocolate Chip circle (only three scallops needed, see video) - one strip Riding Hood Red 3/4" x 9" -Sticky Strip, Snail Adhesive, brads (optional) -3 Heart punch - one small Riding Hood Red heart
Let me tell you, I certainly heaved a big sigh of relief when I saw that this stamp set was not on the retiring list. It is my all time favorite stamp set, especially at this time of year.
Tonight my card club did the masking technique and created the snowy landscape and moon before brayering the sky and stamping the tree and word images. And you can't see it in the photo, but the trees and ground glisten with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

I had a second Holiday stamp-a-stack and everyone got to make 15 Holiday cards with envelopes. The best part was that I had designed 5 cards and had all supplies cut and ready to assemble and each stamper got to make three of each card. So when they left the class they were ready to sign, seal and deliver!
Here's one of the cards made at the class:

Yes, yes, I know it is Monday - but yesterday I was traveling home from a stamping extravaganza with 20 Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I have so much to tell you about my trip and so many samples to share at my classes and clubs that I could implode with excitement! (You are going to want to sign up for my clubs right away so you don't miss out on some fantastic Valentine's ideas!) But for now I need to catch up on laundry and sleep. So here's a quick and easy Christmas card idea using the Snowflakes Sizzlets.
This is one of the cards for my Holiday Stamp-a-Stack on Wednesday night. It also uses Ski Slope designer series paper and the stamp set featured in the new Country Living holiday collection kit. Not only could you make stinkin' cute decorations for your tree, it would make a fantastic and very unique Christmas gift for someone special.
